Chapter 17starts out "Now" in verse one, and chronologically this entire chapter should be placed between I Samuel 16:13, and verse 14. The reason for placing this chapter here, as explained in the Companion Bible, was to allow the author the ease to better contrast the evil spirits of Saul with the Holy Spirit within David. The canonical order alternates David's call to service from Saul's service.

I Samuel 17:1 "Now the Philistines gathered together their armies to battle, and were gathered together at Shochoh, which belongeth to Judah, and pitched between Shochoh and Azekah, in Ephes-dammim."

I Samuel 17:2 "And Saul and the men of Israel were gathered together, and pitched by the valley of Elah, and set the battle in array against the Philistines."

The Philistines camped in the bushes and hiding out from Saul and the Israelites, while Saul and His men were camped down in the valley, with their tents pitched under the oak trees. This location is about sixteen miles south west of Jerusalem.

I Samuel 17:3 "And the Philistines stood on a mountain on the one side, and Israel stood on a mountain on the other side: and there was a valley between them."

It's time for the battle and the Israelites moved to one ridge, and the Philistines stood on the ridge across the valley. The battle would take place in the valley below in the open ground.

I Samuel 17:4 "And there went out a champion out of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span."

The name "Goliath", means "splendid" in the Hebrew tongue, while "Gath" meant "winepress". Another name for Satan is "Splendid" or the "intoxicating one". Goliath is a type or Satan in his role as the "Antichrist". Remember that the "Key of David" lies in the remainder of this chapter, and part of the next. Notice the number "six", the number of Satan, it is the number of the height of Goliath, and this should draw our attention that we are talking about a type, or example that would come against our people. A cubic is approximately eighteen inches, so six cubics and an hand span would make the height of Goliath about nine feet and nine inches tall.

I Samuel 17:5 "And he had an helmet of brass upon his head, and he was armed with a coat of mail; and the weight of the coat was five thousand shekels of brass."

The helmet that it would take to cover the head of a man this size would weigh about fifteen pounds. This coat of mail also covered with brass would weigh well over one hundred pounds.

I Samuel 17:6 "And he had greaves of brass upon his legs, and a target of brass between his shoulders,"

Goliath's leg covering would weigh about thirty pounds, and he also had a smaller sword strapped over His shoulder for the time when fighting was hand to hand combat.

I Samuel 17:7 "And the staff of his spear was like a weaver's beam; and his spear head weighed six hundred shekels of iron: and one bearing a shield went before him."

So Goliath had six weapons, and a spear with the head weighing six hundred shekels of iron. The number of Satan is stamped all over this giant. This spear of Goliath would be approximately twenty six feet long. When Goliath went to battle he carried about two hundred and seventy three pounds of armor on his person, with another person by his side to protect those places where he could become blind sided.

I Samuel 17:8 "And he stood and cried unto the armies of Israel, and said unto them, "Why are ye come out to set your battle in array? am not I a Philistine, and ye servants to Saul? choose you a man for you, and let him come down to me."

Goliath was trying to meet the finest soldier that the Israelites had in their army, and instead of the two armies going to battle, each army would send their finest. The purpose would be to save lives, and this sounds great in theory. Goliath represented those left over from the giants of the second influx, and this would be a great challenge for a "one on one" battle. You are not fighting another human being as we know them to be, but a person that has the lineage of the giants that were the offspring of the fallen angels that came to earth after the flood of Noah's day.

I Samuel 17:9 "If he be able to fight with me, and to kill me, then will we be your servants: but if I prevail against him, and kill him, then shall ye be our servants, and serve me."

I Samuel 17:10 "And the Philistine said, "I defy the armies of Israel this day; give me a man, that we may fight together."

Though in comparison it seems that this is one lop-sided fight. This giant was standing almost ten feet tall, holding a sword that reached out twenty six feet beyond this arm span. Goliath will be going against a man one third less his size. However with God on the Israelites side, there is an equalizer that tilts the battle to the Israelites side. Every day this challenge was made to the Israelites, and every day past without a man taking up the challenge

I Samuel 17:11 "When Saul and all Israel heard those words of the Philistine, they were dismayed, and greatly afraid."

I Samuel 17:12 "Now David was the son of that Ephrathite of Beth-lehem-judah, whose name was Jesse; and he had eight sons: and the man went among men for an old man in the days of Saul.

There is quite a bit of information in this verse, for David was the son of Jesse, and it would be through this man David that the Messiah would be born about one thousand years later. This fight is going to take place about the year 974 B.C. David and Jesus the Christ child were both born in Bethlehem, in the land of Judah. It is also the place where Rachel, the wife of Jacob died while giving place to Benjamin. So Bethlehem had quite a place in history.

By the time that this battle would take place, Jesse the father of David was getting along in years.

I Samuel 17:13 "And the three eldest sons of Jesse went and followed Saul to the battle; and the names of the three sons that went to the battle were Eliab the firstborn, and next unto him Abinadab, and the third Shammah."

Remember when Samuel went to anoint the next king, these three sons of Jesse were passed over by Samuel, and the anointing went to the youngest.

I Samuel 17:14 "And David was the youngest: and the three eldest followed Saul."

I Samuel 17:15 "But David went and returned from Saul to feed his father's sheep at Beth-lehem."

When the three oldest brothers of David went to fight in Saul's army, David was left out in the pasture to feed the sheep of Jesse.

I Samuel 17:16 "And the Philistine drew near morning and evening, and presented himself forty days."

Again we should pay attention to numbers, and to the connection of "forty" in biblical numerics. The number "forty" stands for "probation", and this is the same number of days that Satan tempted Jesus Christ in the wilderness.

Mark 1:13 "And He [Jesus] was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto Him."

So this is the time of probation, the type set forth.

I Samuel 17:17 "And Jesse said unto David his son, "Take now for thy brethren an ephah of this parched corn, and these ten loaves, and run to the camp to thy brethren;"

It was up to the family to provide for their sons that had gone to battle, and David was sent by his father Jesse to deliver the food supply for his three brothers that were in the army.

I Samuel 17:18 "And carry these then cheeses unto the captain of their thousand, and look how thy brethren fare, and take their pledge."

The "taking of the pledge" was to take a lock of hair of each of the sons to document to their parents that their son ware still alive. Jesse was a wise man, and by giving the cheeses to Saul allowed David to have the access to his brothers to check and see that they were still alive, and take the pledge. Jesse wanted David to verify in person that his three sons were alive and well.

I Samuel 17:19 "Now Saul, and they, and all the men of Israel, were in the valley of Elah, fighting with the Philistines."

When David arrived with the food supply and the the cheese, the army was down in the valley of the old oak trees, fighting with the Philistines. The fighting that was taking place at this time was not with spears and swords, but with words. All they were doing was making threats to each other, and talking about a battle. Both sides claimed to be ready, yet neither side was ready to go into any battle. Once the battle started, many lives would be lost.

I Samuel 17:20 "And David rose up early in the morning, and left the sheep with a keeper, and took, and went, as Jesse had commanded him; and he come to the trench, as the host was going forth to the fight, and shouted for the battle."

The troops were getting all worked up for a battle that would not take place.

I Samuel 17:21 "For Israel and the Philistines had put the battle in array, army against army."

There was a lot of fist shaking, and threats, mostly from Goliath, yet there were no takers for any battle. Words, words and words, as they were all working themselves up, but with no action.

I Samuel 17:22 "And David left his carriage in the hand of the keeper of the carriage, and ran into the army, and came and saluted his brethren."

David walked amongst the army until he found his three brothers.

I Samuel 17:23 "And as he talked with them, behold there came up the champion, the Philistine of Gath, Goliath by name, out of the armies of the Philistines, and spake according to the same words: and David heard them."

While David was standing there in the trenches talking with his three brothers, it was the time of day that Goliath came down in the valley to make another challenge to the men of Saul army. David heard the words that this Philistine was making.

I Samuel 17:24 "And all the men of Israel, when they saw the man, fled from him, and were sore afraid."

David watch the fear of the men of Saul's army when the giant came to the edge of their trenches and made his challenge to them. David saw the men run from this giant as he approached. This was the sight that David witnessed.

I Samuel 17:25 "And the men of Israel said, "Have ye seen this man that is come up? surely to defy Israel is he come up: and it shall be, that the man who killeth him, the king will enrich him with great riches, and will give him his daughter, and make his father's house free in Israel."

The soldiers are telling this to little David as he stood with his brothers amongst the rest of the army of Saul. Saul offered to buy the man that took Goliath's challenge a home and set him up in farming, and even give him one of his daughters. To make the offer even more delightful, Saul was going to forgive the man's family of all their taxes the rest of the man's life. All that person had to do was to go down in the valley and kill Goliath.

I Samuel 17:26 "And David spake to the men that stood by him, saying, "What shall be done to the man that killeth this Philistine, and taketh away the reproach from Israel? for who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?"

David just could not believe his ears and asked them to repeat what they had just said. Do you think for a moment that David was thinking of those rewards at that moment. David heard the words of this heathen giant, as he uttered his slanders against God, and the army of God. David just couldn't believe that there was not one person in all Israel that would go out and kill that heathen. To shut up this heathen that would defy the armies of the living God. Finally a man in the Israelite camp that was willing and able to get the job done. David realized that when God is with us, we don't fear anyone.

I Samuel 17:27 "And the people answered him after this manner, saying "So shall it be done to the man that killeth him."

The soldiers around David's brothers answered David and said that he had heard right, all those things shall be given to the man that killeth Goliath.

I Samuel 17:28 "And Eliab his eldest brother heard when he spake unto the men; and Eliab's anger was kindled against David, and he said, "Why comest thou down hither? and with whom hast thou left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know thy pride, and the naughtiness of thine heart; for thou art come down that thou mightest see the battle."

Here is Eliab, the oldest brother listening to David speaking out amongst the soldiers around him, and the words that David spoke made him angry. This older brother was ashamed to be standing there in fear before his youngest brother. Eliab didn't take the challenge, and he also was there when his youngest brother was anointed by Samuel to be the next king of Israel. The statement of naughtiness actually came from the jealousy in the hearts of each of the other brothers that were passed over when the blessing of the anointing was placed on their youngest brother's head. In not so nice a way, Eliab accused David of being nothing but a sheep herder, sticking his nose in a place where it did not belong.

I Samuel 17:29 "And David said, "What have I now done? Is there not a cause?"

David is turning the anger of his brother right back on his brother, for David is asking Eliab, What have I done to get your anger, why hasn't somebody done something about Goliath to shut him up? David just can't stand seeing that Philistine standing before God's army, cursing and blaspheming the name of God, and His army.

I Samuel 17:30 "And he turned from him toward another and spake after the same manner: and the people answered him again after the former manner."

Now David was kind of putting the soldiers down for their cowardly acts and words.

I Samuel 17:31 "And when the words were heard which David spake, they rehearsed them before Saul: and he sent for him."

David just kept on needling the troops to the point that those words reached the ears of Saul. When Saul heard those words of David, he sent for David to be brought to him.

I Samuel 17:32 "And David said to Saul, "Let no man's heart fail because of him; thy servant will go and fight with this Philistine."

This was the shepherd boy David speaking to the king over the army, and David was reminding the king that he is not afraid to face this Philistine, Goliath.

I Samuel 17:33 "And Saul said to David, "Thou art not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him: for thou art but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth."

Saul is looking down on David, and seeing the Spirit that David had to where there was nothing that David was afraid of. Saul is trying to call attention to David's size and age, and trying to tell David that he simply would not have a chance against such a huge man.

I Samuel 17:34 "And David said unto Saul, "Thy servant kept his father's sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock."

Remember that the lion and the bear are symbolic for protection in keeping and teaching the sheep of Israel. Remember who the "lost sheep of Israel" are?

I Samuel 17:35 "And I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him."

God had anointed this lad, and the Spirit of the living God was in Him. There was nothing that David could not do, and it simply did not matter if the beast was in the form of a lion, bear, giant named Goliath, or a one world religious system. God was on David's side, and thus God and David made an army that could not be beat.

I Samuel 17:36 "Thy servant slew both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he hath defiled the armies of the living God."

This then is the reason that David knew without a doubt that God would deliver Goliath into his hands. Remember from Revelation 13, the prophesy concerning the leopard [mountain lion] and the bear? They were the descriptions of the beast that would rise up out of the peoples of the world in the last days of this earth age. These two animals are symbolic of the enemies of God's elect.

Revelation 13:1 "And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy"

The "sea" we are told in Revelation 17:15 represents "peoples, and nations on the face of the earth": While "horns" always represent "power". This first beast of the last days is a one world system, a political order that gives all of its power and control through these seven heads, and ten agencies.

Revelation 13:2 "And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority."

These animals are being used as symbols to demonstrate how this political system of the last days will be carrying on. The story of David and Goliath then was a type of the relationship that will be going on in the last days.

I Samuel 17:37 "David said moreover, "The Lord That delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, He will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine." And Saul said unto David, "Go, and the Lord be with thee."

Saul heard the words of David, yet Saul didn't believe for a moment that David would follow through with his threat. At some point, Saul thought, David would turn and run back to his father, and the sheep. Saul did not have any other takers to go out and fight Goliath, so he said, God and the Lord be with thee."

I Samuel 17:38 "And Saul armed David with his armour, and he put an helmet of brass upon his head; and he armed him with a coat of mail."

David wasn't use to fighting with this type of armor.

I Samuel 17:39 "And David girded his sword upon his armour, and he assayed to go; for he had not proved it. And David said to Saul, "I cannot go with these; for I have not proved them." And David put them off him."

David hadn't proved himself in battle, nor trained with this type of fighting gear.

I Samuel 17:40 "And he took his staff in his hand, and chose him five smooth stones out of the brook, and put them in a shepherd's bag which he had, even in a scrip: and his sling was in his hand:"

Stop and consider this armor that David it taking into battle. David took the wooden stick called his staff that he had tended his sheep with, and he chose the right selected five smooth stones from the brook that ran through the valley. Remember that the trenches of the troops are at the top of the hill, and the brook is down in the valley. David moved out of the trench and down into the valley to prepare for the warfare. David moved with the faith that God would see him through, and provide those stones for his battle with Goliath. David selected these five smooth stone and put them in his shepherd's bag that he was carrying.

Even though David only used one stone to do the job, He selected five stones. This starts the understanding of "the key of David", for the number five represents "grace". It is through the grace of the Father, and through His Son, Jesus Christ, the offspring of David that we find salvation. He is the hidden manna that we read of in Revelation 2:17.

Revelation 2:17 "He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it:"

Meaning those that partake of this Word and truth, in a Spiritual sense, God would give a "white stone" with a new name written thereon. And that Greek word used for "stone", is a similar word for the word "count", in Revelation 13:18. The two verses are tied together for to have the white stone is to be able to count the number of the beast. The "hidden manna" is the truths from the Word of God that only those with ears to hear with understanding will know their meaning.

Revelation 13:18 "Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six."

This is God's way of teaching his elect as to how they were to "count the number of their enemy". Goliath as seen here in I Samuel was only a type of the enemy. Though the enemy may look like a giant to many in our day, they are not to you when you understand God's Word. So lets go to Strong's Greek dictionary for the correct translation from the Greek to English, as used here in the Scripture. #5585; "Psephizo, psay-fid'-zo; from 5506; to use pebbles in enumeration, i.e. to compute:-to count." So lets go to the root word to understand the full meaning of this word in $5586; "Psephos, psay'-fos: from the same as 5584: a pebble (as worn smooth by handling), i.e. (by impl. of use as a counter or ballot) a verdict (of acquittal) or ticke (of admission); a vote: stone, voice."

This is simply saying, the elect are to keep up with the identity of the children of Cain down through the many generations of time to be able to identify them and their activity. To be able to identify the evilness that they bring with them on the peoples that they have mixed with. When you know where these Kenites are, you will understand that where they, they will be promoting their father, the false messiah, which is the devil himself. The Kenites are those smooth stones worn smooth over a very long period of time, and even in our generation, when you see their way of doing things and the things they are saying, it is to promote the ways of Satan.

So to have the "key of David", is to be able to identify the true from the false, to be able to identify the things of God, from the twisted truth, that have become nothing but lies and do not come from the Word of God. When you have the "key of David", you will be able to know when the truth from God's Word is being made into a lie by the word smiths that like to twist the truth to make it a lie. Do you have the "white stone", for that white stone is your weapon, in a spiritual sense. The church in the latter times that had the key of David are those that taught as the church of Philadelphia.

Revealtion 3:7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; `These things saith He That is Holy, He That is true, He That hath the key of David, He That openeth, and no man shutteth, and shutteth, and no man openeth."

It gives you an advantage in these final days of this earth age, and even David had this advantage. The advantage was not because of the stone that he selected, but because He knew our Heavenly Father. David knew the things of the Father from those things of the world. David knew that what was about to happen was in accordance with God's plan, and that God would protect him. After all Samuel had just anointed him king, and David had faith.

I Samuel 17:41 "And the Philistine came on and drew near unto David; and the man that bare the shield went before him."

The two men are now meeting down in the valley, the giant from the hill of the Philistines, and little David, kneeling at the brook to select his five stones that he would use for the battle.

I Samuel 17:42 "And when the Philistine looked about, and saw David, he disdained him: for he was but a youth, and ruddy, and of a fair countenance."

When Goliath saw David kneeling at the brook, he hated the boy, for in the past forty days Goliath was calling for the strongest man of the Israelites, and all that they would send out was this boy, David. This was an insult to Goliath that this small boy is what the Israelites thought was a match for this mighty warrior of the Philistines.

I Samuel 17:43 "And the Philistine said unto David, "Am I a dog, that thou comest to me with staves?" And the Philistine cursed David by his gods."

Goliath looked down on David and asked him, "Do you think I am a dog that you come to me with a stick in your hand. What are you going to do with the stick, beat me with it?" Goliath cursed David by Dagon, Baal and all the other gods of the Philistines.

I Samuel 17:44 "And the Philistine said to David, "Come to me, and I will give thy flesh unto the fowls of the air, and to the beasts of the field."

I Samuel 17:45 "Then said David to the Philistine, "Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield, but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, Whom thou hast defied."

Pay attention to this verse very closely. Though the enemy comes at David with all his armor, and weapons, David came against the Philistine giant "in the name of the Lord of the hosts". This is the "key of David ". "...But I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel,..." You don't mock God and get away with it. You don't curse God's servants and get away with it. Remember these words of David, and Jesus taught them many years later. Jesus would make a statement; "from the mouths of babes comes the living truth."

Matthew 21:16 "And said unto Him, hearest thou what these say?" And Jesus saith unto them, "Yea; have ye never read, `Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings Thou hast perfected praise'?"

When we take that to the prime, that "babe" was David, the youth that made his statement before Goliath the enemy of God. This was a true statement in David's time, as it was in Jesus day, and as it is in our life time. God's Word never changes. It is hard to see how people still fear when they are familiar with our Father's Word and His promises. God will see you through those time of great need, when you use common sense.

I Samuel 17:46 "This day will the Lord deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcasses of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel."

Father is the God of all souls, and this is the stated purpose for David doing what he is about to do. Though Goliath looked to the people of the earth to be an insurmountable enemy, to David his was the enemy that blasphemed against the God and heaven, and did not have the right to life. David knew that God was on his side, and that God would give him the victory. David had been trained in killing wild beasts in the field to protect his sheep, and Goliath was just another wild beast that was endangering more of God's sheep.

The staff that David took against Goliath was symbolic of the shepherd's staff used in leading the people, for sheep are symbolic of the children of Israel and all of God's people. Of the five smooth stones, one was all that was necessary to get the job done. This would be proof to the armies of both sides that the God of Israel was greater than all the gods of the Philistines.

This word "deliver" in the Hebrew text is "cagar", and it is pronounced "sargar" and it means, "to shut thee up." Goliath had been ranting and raving for the past forty days, and David is telling Goliath that "the Lord will shut thee up, and give you into my hands." This is the prime root to the phrase, "shut up".

I Samuel 17:47 "And all this assembly shall know that the Lord saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the Lord's, and He will give you into our hands."

Though the words were coming from the mouth of the babe David, it was the Lord that was speaking through him. David said, God is going to conquer Goliath, God is going to deliver Goliath and shut his mouth, and God is going to give the battle to His people. "The Lord saveth, not with sword and spear." To the worldly mine the match up is between David's slingshot, and a stick; and Goliaths sword and massive spear. However David knew that with the Lord, there simply was no contest because it was between an almighty God, and a oversize man in the flesh, carrying nothing but a sword and spear. It would take spiritual insight to see the one-sided-ness between God and Goliath, while both armies were looking at just two souls in their flesh bodies.

When Christ quoted in Matthew 21:16, He was also quoting from Psalms 8:2 "Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength." It was this same David that was doing the writing. Within this we have the key of David that unlocks all Scripture and make it understandable in the minds of God people that gives us the power and the wisdom to open doors, and no man can shut them. Open the doors of truth and knowledge and wisdom. As we follow His instructions, it is not you and I that do the great things, but God is the one that gets the victory. God works in natural ways to get the work done, and He uses people to do His work.

I Samuel 17:48 "And it came to pass, when the Philistine arose, and came and drew night to meet David, that David hasted, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine."

As Goliath turned to come to David, David didn't draw back, but ran to meet Goliath and the entire army Philistine army.

I Samuel 17:49 "And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in the forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth."

In one smooth motion, David took the stone from his bag while on a full run, he put it into the slingshot and the strike brought the giant to the ground. One stone was all it took to overcome all that armor, the sword and that huge spear, and in a split second the Philistines watched as their hero fell to the ground dead.

Prophetically this should draw our attention to the Song of Moses, where the overcomers will be singing in the Millennium age, "there rock is not our Rock." As we read earlier above that when we take the hidden manna, which is God's truth, in our forehead or mind, and He will give you a new white stone with a new name written on it. That stone or knowledge will give you the victory over the enemy, no matter what generation you live in.

Satan himself is call "Tyrus" which is stone in the Hebrew. And when we count the number of the beast, as is written in Revelation 13:18, it is use the many generation of time that the Kenites have taken to perfect their false lies, distorting the truths from God's Word, and hiding themselves and their true identity. The stones were worn smooth, by casting of their lots, over a long period of time. It takes time to put a lie into being to were that tradition will be accepted without question. It is understanding the keys of Satan, as well as the "key of David", whereby you will know and understand the truth from lies in these latter days.

Once you know the truth, and you know that Satan comes first, than when one comes calling himself the Messiah, or Christ, and you are still in your flesh body, you know that he is a fake. When the Word of God tells us what to expect in our generation, there is no panic by God's people as those events come to pass. That is what the book of Revelation, and the Jesus' warning in Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21 is all about. It is preparing God's elect for the time of the end that we should not be deceived into worshipping the false messiah. So this story between a lad and a giant is symbolic also of something else that shall happen, for there is nothing new under the sun. David and Goliath is a type for the elect and Satan and his beast system in the latter days.

It is a lesson to let us know that we will have the victory when we have that hidden manna, that stone of truth hidden away in our mind to give us understanding. We will know Satan upon his arrival by his offspring, the Kenites, and within this we have the key of David. Once you know who the Kenites are, and how they function, and that knowledge is in your mind, they are no longer hidden, and their lies become obvious to you. The deadly wound of the beast system came to the forehead, to the mind of the one being struck. That is exactly where the deception will take hold when Antichrist sets foot on this earth. It will be quick and sure, for you will either know the truth before hand, or you will not. There wasn't time for Goliath to defend himself against that attack to his forehead, and the death was sure and quick.

The "forehead" or mind is where you place the seal that commits you either to Satan or to Jesus Christ, and there is no in-between. The "seal" is what you believe to be truth, and it is in your mind that you store and seal that information and knowledge. If you believe in a rapture, you are looking for the first Christ, and that is what is sealed in your mind. When one looking like Christ appears first, that is the one that you accept, sure, and instantly. However when you know the difference between the two seals, the sixth and the seventh trumpet, and you know that you will not see Jesus Christ's return in your flesh body, so when one claiming to be Christ comes and you are still in the flesh, you know instantly that man is a fake.

Revelation 9:4 "And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads."

God is giving the command stated here to Satan. Satan is the star falling from heaven that will be coming to earth, right along with all the fallen angels from the bottomless pit. Jesus told us that their time has been shortened from the seven years that Daniel prophesied, to five months.

Revelation 9:5 "And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion when he striketh a man."

When a scorpion strikes a man, the man is left completely paralyzed and unable to think nor defend himself. If you do not have the truth of God's Word in your mind, and part of your thinking process seal away and part of you, than it is to late for you. God will turn you over to Satan, whether you claim Christ or not. When that stone hit the forehead of the giant, down the giant went, and David didn't have any trouble with the armor bearor. When the big boys go down, the others sell out very cheep. In fact the entire army of the Philistines turned and headed in the opposite direction.

I Samuel 17:50 "So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him; but there was no sword in the hand of David."

Notice that David told the Philistine in verse 46 that he was going to cut Goliath's head off, and yet David did not have a sword.

I Samuel 17:51 "Therefore David ran, and stood upon the Philistine, and took his sword, and drew it out of the sheath thereof, and slew him, and cut off the head therewith. And when the Philistines saw their champion was dead, they fled."

As the Philistines looked down and saw the head of their champion being cut off by little David, fear went through the camp, and they fled.

I Samuel 17:52 "And the men of Israel and of Judah arose, and shouted, and pursued the Philistines, until thou come to the valley, and to the gates of Ekron. And the wounded of the Philistines fell down by the way to Shaaraim, even unto Gath, and unto Ekron."

There is a slight mistranslation in this verse, and it is in the word Shaaraim, which in the Hebrew means "two gates". What it is stating, was that the Philistines that fell down on their way back home to the gates of their two cities, Gath and Ekron, they were slain by the Israelites that were pursuing after them.

I Samuel 17:53 "And the children of Israel returned from chasing after the Philistines, and they spoiled their tents."

Now that David had killed the Goliath and cut off his head, the rest of the army became brave men as they took the tents and goods that the Philistines left behind on the battle field. It took just one stone to end the battle. Though God directed the stone, David put the stone in the sling and swung it in the giants direction. Think of the heart that David had in him, in his obedience to God.

I Samuel 17:54 "And David took the head of the Philistine, and brought it to Jerusalem; but he put his armour in his tent."

I Samuel 17:55 "And when Saul saw David go forth against the Philistine, he said unto Abner, the captain of the host, "Abnor, whose son is this youth?" And Abnor said, "As thy soul liveth, O king, I cannot tell."

Saul knew who David was for he had spoken to David before the battle and had come to love David. However, now Saul wanted to know who David's father was. Remember from the prior chapter, that from the sixteenth chapter at the fourteenth verse, it was inserted out of order, where David would come and play the harp for Saul when was possessed by an evil spirit.

I Samuel 17:56 "And the king said, "Inquire thou whose son the stripling is."

Remember back in the sixteenth chapter Saul had sent a letter to Jesse thanking him for sending his son to the battle front. So now we can see where this chapter should be placed after this inquiry here.

I Samuel 17:57 "And as David returned from the slaughter of the Philistine, Abner took him, and brought him before Saul with the head of the Philistine in his hand."

It should have been quite a sight with this lad, David, carrying this giant's head around with him. David did exactly as he told Goliath that he would do to him. If everyone was so struck in fear for the forty days, David had the right to put on public display the head of the one that struck such fear in the Israelites. The point that David was stressing was not how great he was, but how great our Father is.

I Samuel 17:58 "And Saul said to him, "Whose son art thou, thou young man?" And David answered, "I am the son of thy servant Jesse the Beth-lehemite."

So we have seen the key of David being developed here in the seventeenth chapter, and that key always fits the lock of understanding the Word of God. Once you see the chronological flow of truth released in those stones as the reference points, you can see the genealogy of not only David, but of Cain. It would be through the seed of David that the Messiah would be born, and it is just as important to know and identify the Kenites. For through these Kenites flows the negative part of the plan of God.

Of the seven churches that are written of in the book of Revelation, there were only two that were acceptable to God, and they were the church of Smyrna and Philadelphia. These churches were acceptable because they knew and could identify the false teaching of the Kenites, in the latter days.

Revelation 2:9 "I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty (but thou art rich), and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan."

Those two churches taught the key of David, the people of those churches knew who the Kenites were and they did not allow them to have any access into their churches. When the Kenites were there it was because they were converts, and thus no longer Kenites but children of the living God. If your church is not teaching this in the latter days, than you are in trouble.
