II CHRONICLES Chapter 2"The Building of the Temple: Sacred Events." This
Bible Study is written by Roger Christopherson, and it's
transcription/ location II Chronicles 2:1 "And Solomon determined to build an house for the name of the Lord, and an house for his kingdom."The house that Solomon had built for the name of the Lord was the Temple. This permenant Temple of God would then replace the Tabernacle, or tent that housed the Ark of the Covenant, mercy seat and all the instruments of the Tabernacle. It was the place were the sacrifices had been made since God demanded it of Moses back in the wilderness, while the Israelites were camped at the foot of Mount Sinai. David had his house built, for it was Solomon's home when he grew up. However Solomon became king and was going to build an new house for himself. Solomon's house is described for us in I Kings 7, and this house would be built by the same craftsmen that built David's house about twelve to fifteen years earlier. I Kings 7:1, 2 "But Solomon was building his own house thirteen years, and he finished all his house. [1] "He built also the house of the forest of Lebanon; the length thereof fifty cubits, and the height thereof thirty cubits, and upon four rows of cedar pillars, with cedar beams upon the pillars." [2] It took thirteen years to build Solomon's magnificent home, Then he built this cedar house in the forests of Lebanon. That cedar house was about a hundred feet long, and sixty feet high; in that a cubit is from 22 to 25 inches long. These houses were in addition to the construction of the Temple of God. II Chronicles 2:2 "And Solomon told out threescore and ten thousand men to bear burdens, and fourscore thousand to hew in the mountain, and three thousand and six hundred to oversee them." The eleventh "seder" or reading of the books of Chronicles began with I Chronicles 28:10 and ended with this second verse. Solomon took a census just as David did to build that army to fight Israel's enemies. That censes is similar to the registering of all the young men for the service in the selective service, as we do today in our nation. This numbering by Solomon was for the identifying who was available for duty in the construction of these three houses; the House of the Lord, Solomon's home, and the home in the forest in Lebanon. From this censes there were seventy thousand [70,000] men fit to bear burdens, and eighty thousand [80,000] men able to hew the stone in the mountains. Solomon had thirty six hundred [3,600] men that were able to fill the role of supervisors, and bosses over the men on the job. Was this enough men for the task? King Solomon will now "try to settle a contract with Hiram ["Huram"]", as it is worded in the book of First Kings. Hiram was the king of Tyre, the home capital of the Kenites in the land of Hamath. Solomon was aware of the dealings that his father David had with the Kenites, and Solomon knew that Hiram could produce the skilled labor and people needed for the movement of the goods to Jerusalem. The Prophet Ezekiel wrote of another prince, "the prince of Tyre" in Ezekiel 28. This prince of Tyre in God's kingdom became the "king of Tyre" when he rebelled against God, and tried to become God. He was the father of the Kenites [Cain] through Eve, a man not in human form, yet created perfect and beautiful in all ways. Ezekiel 28:12 "Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord God; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty." This king of Tyre that was created back in that first earth age with the sum of all wisdom, full of wisdom, and perfect in his beauty is Satan. Satan was the father of the Cain, and Cain children are called the "Kenites". Strong's Hebrew dictionary addresses the work "Kenites" in # 7017; "Qyiniy, kay-nee'; (I Chronicles 2:55), patron from 7014, a Kenite or member of the tribe of Kajin:-Kenite." In # 7014 in Strong's Hebrew dictionary we read; "Qayin, kah'-yin; The same as 7013 with a play upon the affinity to 7069, Kajin, the name of the first child, Cain, also a place in Pal., and of an oriental tribe:-Cain, Kenite(s)." Cain was the first child born to Eve, the son from his father Satan. Cain murdered his brother Cain and went to the Orient, to the East to take his wife from an oriental tribe. Kenites are not of Abraham, Jacob, or Judah, but of their father Cain, and his father Satan; who was created in the full pattern of perfection and wisdom. Jesus identified these Kenite Jewish leaders in John 8:44; "Ye are of your father the devil [Satan], and the lusts of your father ye will do. He [Cain murdered Abel] was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth [when he tried to cover over his murder of his brother], because there is no truth in him [Cain]. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own [the Kenites]. For he [Satan] is a liar and the father of it [lies]. The lies started way back in the first earth age, prior to this earth age of flesh man; when Satan, a created man, being, tried to take the role of God; and it will happen again very shortly when God boots Satan out onto the earth, as recorded in Revelation 12:7-9. Second Thessalonians 2:1-7 warn us of this time, the time of Jacob's trouble. II Thessalonians 2:3 "Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and the man of sin be revealed, the son of Perdition." Many things are happening today, as the Kenites are trying to remove the things of God, to replace them with their traditions, and make those traditions acceptable to all people. Satan is the man of sin in this earth age, and the son of Perdition from the first earth age, sentenced to be turned to ashes after the Millennium. II Thessalonians 2:4 "Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the Temple of God, shewing himself that he is God." In that short five month period from the day of his arrival on earth, all mankind will come to worship Satan as God, being deceived into thinking that he is the Christ. He will declare himself to be God, and those Christians that are not sealed with the truth in their mind, will be deceived by the miracles that Satan will preform into believing that Satan is God, the Messiah, the Christ. Many will be looking for their rapture, and Satan will give them the ride of their life, right into his camp. Let's look at how Satan became "the man of sin", "the son of perdition". Ezekiel 28:13 "Thou [Satan] hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the berl, the onyx, and the jasper, the saphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou was created." Satan was a created being (soul) just as you and I are, only he and his fallen angels refuse to enter into this earth age of humanity through the womb. Jude 6 addresses these fallen entities, or angels and lets us know that in the end, after the great white throne judgment, they, their leader Satan, and all those that chose to follow Satan will enter into the lake of fire and be consumed from within. Ezekiel states this. Ezekiel 28:18 "Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore I will bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee." This event will not be in our age of man in the flesh, for it will be after the Great white throne judgment that we read of in Revelation 20:11-15. No, God will use Satan and his Kenite kids in this earth age to test his children before they enter into the lake of fire. Our God is a loving God and He has a plan, and that plan is completely laid out in our Bible to the letter. Every soul that was created and entered into this earth age by the womb has the right to place them selves under the blood of Christ in Repentance, and receive eternal life. We are in the end times, and these Kenites are the hidden ones that control the four hidden dynasties that will prepare the way for man's acceptance of the coming of their father Satan. We are witnessing the events of that preparation daily in the news, and seeing it taking place around us. Just as this time of David and Solomon allowed the Kenites the opening to enter into the work of God's Temple, some four hundred years later, here they are writing books that will stay in the Scriptures until the end of this earth age. This tribe of Kenites took over the Levitical priesthood, and God allowed it because that set the stage for the shedding of innocent blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Kenite takeover of the Levitical priesthood was gradual, and in a manner that even the prophet Ezra was not aware of who they were: Even when he made of this group that was going back to Jerusalem, and when they numbered to half those in his returning group. Jesus warned us in Revelation that many churches today would be fooled by them, but those with the truth sealed in their mind would not. Revelation 2:8, 9 "And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; `These things saith the first and the Last, Which was dead, and is alive; [Speaking of our Lord Jesus Christ, the alpha and omega: was placed in the tomb, and after three days arose from the dead]." [8] "I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty (but thou art rich) [rich in understanding], and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are of the synagogue of Satan." [9] The Kenites say they are of Judah, they present themselves as part of Israel, but they are still Nethinims even to this day. I said all this so you would be aware of this time when the Nethinims are entering into the service in the Lord's house, from the beginning of the Temple construction, to the time when they would cry out, "Crucify Him, Crucify Him", at the court of Pilate. Remember that phrase from Matthew 27:23-25. Matthew 27:23 "And the governor said, "Why, what evil hath He done?" But they cried out the more, saying, "Let Him be crucified." " [This is Jesus our Lord that these Kenites are crying out for His life.] Matthew 27:24 "When Pilate saw that he could not prevail nothing, but rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, :I am innocent of the blood of this just Person [Jesus Christ]: see ye to it." Matthew 27:25 "Then answered all the People, and said, "His blood be on us, and on our children [our offspring]." Though you think this was an evil thing, which it was, it was written of many hundreds of years exactly as it took place for it was the plan of God coming into being. The intent of what happened was set way back before Genesis 1:2 God spoke and this earth age of flesh name came into being. And remember that even a Kenite has the opportunity to come under the blood of Jesus Christ, and receive eternal salvation of his soul. God loves each of his children, and if that soul prays and allows the Holy Spirit to open his or her eyes to see the light of God's Word; at repentance that soul become a child of God with eternal life. What a wonderful and glorious Heavenly Father we have. Now back to Solomon's day. II Chronicles 2:3 "And Solomon sent to Huram the king of Tyre, saying, "As thou didst deal with David my father, and didst send him cedars to build him an house to dwell therein, even so deal with me." Though David wanted to build the Temple for the house of God, God forbid him to do so because of the many things that David did in his life. David was a military man, and thousands of people lost their lives at the hand and command of David. This is why the Lord forbids David from building the Temple. However David did build himself a house in Jerusalem, and Solomon knew the quality and skill that it would take to put up the kind of structures of the Temple and his two homes. Hiram's people were skilled in the ways of construction. Solomon lived in a home that Hiram built, and he saw the beauty that was put into his childhood home. II Samuel 5:9 - 11; "So David dwelt in the fort, and called it the city of David. And David built round about from Millo and inward." [9] "And David went on, and grew great, and the Lord God of hosts was with him." [10] "And HIram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and carpenters, and masons: and they built David an house." [11] Remember that Solomon grew up in this house of His father, and he knew the work of Hiram and his workers. II Chronicles 2:4 "Behold, I build an house to the name of the Lord my God, to dedicate it to Him, and to burn before Him sweet incense, and for the continual shewbread, and for the burnt offerings morning and evening, on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the solemn feasts of the Lord our God. This is an ordinance for ever to Israel." Solomon is telling Hiram, the king of the Kenites, that this house to our God must be great. Solomon knew the books of Moses, and he knew the detail that must go into the sacrifices, the burning of incense of the spices, and the continual shewbread. Exodus 40:1-4 "And the Lord spake unto Moses saying," [1] "On the first day of the month shalt thou set up the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation." [2] "And thou shalt put therein the ark of the testimony, and cover the ark with the vail." [3] "And thou shalt bring in the table, and set in order the things [the Shewbread] that are to be set in order upon it; and thou shalt bring in the candlestick, and light the lamps thereof. [4] As the children of Israel passed through the wilderness for those 38 years, at the first of each month, they paused, pitched the tent of the tabernacle; set up the holy of holies and the table of shewbread, and prepared the altars for the sacrifices that were to be made. Solomon knew this requirement of God, and it was a custom in Solomon's day some five hundred years later. God had now assigned the task of building a permanent home for those sacrifices and services that were made in that tent down the road, and Solomon wanted it to show the greatness and grace of our Lord. II Chronicles 2:5 "And the house which I build is great: for great is our God above all gods." So this is what Solomon is trying to convey to Hiram. Our God is great, and his house of worship must also be great. Solomon knew that king Hiram of Hamath and the Kenite nation, could greatly assist in completing the job before him. He also knew of Hiram's friendship with his father David. Remember also that it was David that assigned the Nethinims [the strangers] (the Kenites) to many duties to assist the Levite priests at the Tabernacle. Many of these Kenites were down at the tabernacle cutting wood and doing tasks to help the priests as Solomon was talking to Hiram, and Solomon had to be aware of it. II Chronicles 2:6 "But who is able to build Him an house seeing the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain Him? who am I then, that I should build Him an house, save only to burn sacrifice before Him?" When Solomon asked the question; "Who is able to build Him an house seeing the heaven and heavens cannot contain Him?" Solomon was not asking a question for information, no; but he was making a positive affirmation, a statement of fact. Solomon was pointing to the wonder and admiration he had for YHVH our heavenly Father. YHVH the Father in heaven is the creator of all the creation. Revelation 4:11 "Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for Thou hast created all things, and for Thy pleasure they are and were created." And Solomon knew YHVH personally, for God had spoken to Solomon and made many promises to him in support of Solomon's kingship; as we read in the first chapter. When we come to God in repentance in Jesus name, and believe in His name and commit ourselves to His Ways, each of us can knew this same personal relationship, and taste of the love that God has for each of his children. II Chronicles 2:7 "Send me now therefore a man cunning to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, and in iron, and in purple, and crimson, and blue and that can skill to gave with the cunning men that are with me in Judah and in Jerusalem, whom David my father did provide." Solomon is requesting of king Hiram that he sends men that are skilled and have the know-how to work with silver and gold, and all the metals. He wants people that work with cloths and dies, and can sew and make the curtains and things that go to make the Temple of God complete. Sure, Solomon has some men in Judah, but not nearly enough. Can you see how the Kenites are being brought in for this task of building God's house, and being employed? Many of those Kenites that were brought from Tyre to Jerusalem will stay after the construction is over. That's how our land of America was build. The Chinese were brought in to build the railroads from west to east, and the Irish came to make money and work on the railroads from east to west. In time they had families brought over, and these foreigners just never went back home. They blended into our communities; kept their traditions and became Americans. The Scandinavians saw the rich farmlands in the north, and the French the rich soil to the south. In time we had a nation made up of many different peoples, all contributing the skills that make our nation great. That is what went to make up the house of Judah at this time of the building of the house of God, the Temple. Many skills were needed from qualified men out side the nation of Judah. Through Solomon's father David, the land and all the nations around Israel were subdued, and at peace with Israel. In time these skilled people stayed in their work positions after the task was done, and in time those people became part of Judah, and were called "Jews". The term "Jews" identifies those that are from the land of Judah, live in, and make their income there. The common day Israel today that occupies the land of Palestine, also has many other peoples that live in Israel, work and school, and bring up their families there. They are considered Israelites today, yet they are also called Americans, Arabs, or Palestinians after their parents lineage. The reason I am saying this, is that though the Kenites worked in the Temple, built much of the Temple with their skills, and remained in Judah later, they had kept their traditions that were very important to them. Those traditions were never given up, and are written in their religious writings called the Talmud. The Talmud consists of many volumes and addresses every possible event or moral act that could be addressed. This is what they practice and what they teach their children. (Christians should be teaching their children from the bible.) Remember that in time the Kenites took more and more roles within the Temple, and under king Manasseh of Judah, he tried to eliminate the words of the prophets completely. Isaiah the prophet told king Hezekiah long ahead of time that the house of Judah would go down in captivity, and we will address this part of II Kings later in the book of Chronicles. However at the age of twelve [12] Manasseh his son took the throne of Judah and reigned fifty five [55] years. After all the work Hezekiah did to place God's worship and sacrifice in the center of Judah, Manasseh took it all away. II Kings 21:2, 3 "And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, after the abominations of the heathen, whom the Lord cast out before the children of Israel." [2] "For he build up again the high places which Hezekiah has father had destroyed; and he reared up altars for Baal, and made a grove, as did Ahab king of Israel; and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them." [3] This was the start of bringing in heathen priests, and building the type of traditions that took over down in Babylon. So you can see how the seventy years of captivity in Babylon would allow these traditions of the Kenites to take precedence over, or be equal with the laws of Moses. We know that half of those calling themselves Jews coming out of Babylon were Kenites, of Nethinim families. The Nethinim virtually controlled the priesthood, for there wasn't a Levite in their midst, according to Ezra. The reason I am trying to write this, is for us to understand that by the time that our Lord Jesus Christ was born, He was not welcomed by the leaders in the Temple in Jerusalem, or the civil authorities. At Jesus birth the king wanted to kill him, and by the time of the start of Jesus ministry, the Jewish Kenite religious leaders sought to murder Jesus at every turn. Jesus could see right into the hearts and minds of these Kenites religious leaders that stood before him. Yet YHVH God had his hand in the control of all people, and things and events, and those things don't happen unless God wills it. Through the entire Old Testament from Genesis 3:15, and through every one of the prophets of God, the prophecy of the coming Messiah was addressed. The lineage of the Christ child from Adam to Christ is the central theme of the Old Testament, and each of the events dealing with Christ's life, ministry and His death and resurrection is foretold many times and in many ways. Though these Kenites are the offspring of Cain, from the Garden of Eden, they are God's instruments in fulfilling the plan of God. God loves them, just as He loves you, and the plan of God is offered to each and every soul that will repent of their sins in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, and follow His ways. So as we read the rest of this book, remember that each thing that happens was no accident. God was preparing the way for His Son, and for the Salvation that would be offered to each of us at and through the cross. Our Lord had to be born of the Virgin Mary, live His life, minister and teach as He did, and go to the cross to shed his blood. No man took His life, but He laid His life down willfully for your and my sins. Each person makes his or her own decision, including the Kenites, the Arabs, or what ever their religious beliefs as to what faith they will follow. In that we are living in the end times now, God has told us that there would be a great falling away, and just as the Kenites in time took over the Temple; expect it also to happen that these Kenite hidden ones will control the world system in these latter days through their four hidden dynasties. God told the prophets that it would happen, and it will. So with this in mind, lets continue with Solomon's plans on the building of the Temple of the house of God. II Chronicles 2:8 "Send me also cedar trees, fir trees, and algum trees, out of Lebanon: for I know that thy servants can skill to cut timber in Lebanon; and, behold, my servants shall be with thy servants.," The cedars of Lebanon were the biggest and best around, and Solomon is putting his order in for materials from king Hiram. He not only wants the timber, but he want those workers that cut and shape the wood. In many passages in the Scriptures, God uses the cedars of Lebanon to describe the house of Israel; as He relates all people to trees, and Himself as the great Fir Tree. In the same light, Satan the king of Tyrus [the Kenites], is compared to an old box tree. II Chronicles 2:9 "Even to prepare me timber in abundance: for the house which I am about to build shall be wonderful great." II Chronicles 2:10 "And, behold, I will give to thy servants, to hewers that cut timber, twenty thousand measures of beaten wheat, and twenty thousand measures of barley, and twenty thousand baths of wine, and twenty thousand baths of oil." In this contract that Solomon wants to make with king Hiram of the Kenites, he is promising to pay the men well for the services that they give in building these structures. II Chronicles 2:11 "Then Huram the king of Tyre answered in writing, which he sent to Solomon, "Because the Lord hath loved His People, He hath made thee king over them." Notice how king Hiram [Huram] is boasting up and building the image of Solomon; This is how Satan works when he wants you to lose focus on what you are doing. He knew how Solomon loved the Lord. II Chronicles 2:12 "Huram said moreover, "Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, That made heaven and earth, Who hath given to David the king a wise son, endued with prudence and understanding, that might build an house for the Lord, and an house for his kingdom." So with this in mind, what is Hiram's intention? for we know the intent of the Kenites, and that Hiram knew that Israel's God is a jealous God. Moses warned the Israelites in Deuteronomy 4, "Take heed unto yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant of the Lord your God, which He made with you, and make you a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, which the Lord thy God hath forbidden thee. (For the Lord thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous GOD.)" Deuteronomy 4:26; "I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that ye shall soon utterly perish from off the land whereunto you go over Jordan to possess it; ye shall not prolong your days upon it, but shall utterly be destroyed." Deuteronomy 4:27 "And the Lord shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few in number among the heathen, whither the Lord shall lead you. In time Solomon will take Kenite wives, for he will have a thousand wives before he dies. Will Solomon take his eyes of the Father and focus them on himself? II Chronicles 2:13 "And now I have sent a cunning man, endued with understanding, of Huram my father's" II Chronicles 2:14 "The son of a woman of the daughters of Dan, and the father was a man of Tyre, skilful to work in gold, and in silver, in brass, in iron, in stone, and in timber, in purple, in blue, and in fine linen, and in crimson; also to grave any manner of graving, and to find out every device which shall be put to him, with thy cunning men, and with the cunning men of my lord David thy father." So this skilled man that Hiram will send to Solomon to do his thinking and planning will be a Kenite, with a mother of the tribe of Naphtali, though it states by birth from the tribe of Dan here. This man is a Kenite based in the wisdom and traditions of the Kenites. However he is well skilled in all the areas of working with metals and brass. I Kings 7:13, 14 "And king Solomon sent and fetched Hiram out of Tyre." [13] "He was a widow's son of the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, a worker in brass: and he was filled with wisdom and understanding, and cunning to work all works in brass." [14] Hiram was skilled in the work of casting brass. His work is described in I Kings the seventh chapter. II Chronicles 2:15 "Now therefore the wheat, and the barley, the oil, and the wine, which my lord hath spoken of, let him send unto his servants:" II Chronicles 2:16 "And we will cut wood out of Lebanon, as much as thou shalt need: and we will bring it to thee in floats by sea to Joppa; and thou shalt carry it up to Jerusalem." King Hiram told to pay his workers, and he would take care of the workers in Lebanon, that were cutting the wood and shipping it to Jerusalem through the port of Jappa. It sounds a lot like the Lumber industry of today. II Chronicles 2:17 "And Solomon numbered all the strangers that were in the land of Israel, after the numbering wherewith David his father had numbered them; and they were found an hundred and fifty thousand and three thousand and six hundred." Its time for the construction to begin, and all the foreigners that were in the land of Judah were numbered and assigned a job in the construction of these three buildings. Remember that David numbered to build an army to fight, and with those records on hand, Solomon had a work force of one hundred and fifty three thousand six hundred [153, 600] men to do the work. II Chronicles 2:18 "And he set threescore and ten thousand of them to be bearers of burdens, and fourscore thousand to be hewers of the mountain, and three thousand and six hundred overseers to set the people a work." This is exactly as stated in verse 2 of this chapter. So let the work begin.
