The Book of Acts

The Stoning to death of Stephen

"When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth. [54] But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, [55] And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God. [56] Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord, [57] And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man's feet, whose name was Saul. [58] And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. [59] And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep. " [60]

Acts 7:54-60

The books of reference used for this study of the book of Acts were the Bible, King James Version, called "The Companion Bible", Publisher Kregel; Strong's Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible, numbered to the Hebrew, Chaldee, and Greek, and English, coded to the Strong's Concordance numbers.

Other sources were also used besides these references, but they were the major source of the study. Of course without the leading by the Holy Spirit, there would be no understanding of the truths, for all the truth of the Scriptures are revealed to us by God's Spirit.

John 15:26
But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

John 16:13-14
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
