Exodus Chapter 7 "God's Commission Repeated. [1 - 5]" This
Bible Study is written by Roger Christopherson, and it's
transcription/ location From the time that God called Moses to lead the Children of Israel out of the Egypt to the promised land, Moses has continually tried to tell God why he wasn't the man for the job. So God showed him that he was the man chosen to lead His people back to the promised land. When Moses used the excuse of his ability to speak, God told him that it would not be Moses that had to say the words, but God who would put the words in Moses mind, and his brother Aaron to speak the words that God told him to speak. Then God demonstrated the many signs that Moses would use before Pharaoh, demanding of Pharaoh, "Thus saith of the Lord God, Let My people go." God also revealed to Moses His sacred name, " `ehyeh `asher `ehyeh", "I AM THAT I AM". God told Moses to go and tell the people that "I AM" sent me, and the people were behind Moses and Aaron as they went in before Pharaoh to plea for the freedom of the children of Israel. However when Pharaoh heard that the people wanted three days off of work to go to the wilderness to sacrifice to the Lord, Pharaoh added work to the people by insisting that they gather their own straw for the bricks, and not decreasing their tally of brick by one brick. Then the people turned against Moses because of this added work load. Time after time Moses is either degrading himself or trying to argue with God over the instructions that God has given him and Aaron to do. Well, it is time for the talk to stop and the action to start, so God is going to remind Moses one more time of the plan and signs from God that will force Pharaoh to demand that the children of Israel leave Egypt, and then the action will begin. The events of the ten plagues will then start, and as these events take place, they are lessons to us living in these end times of this earth age. Exodus 7:1 "And the Lord said to Moses, "See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet." Those things that you shall speak to Pharaoh will be direct from God, and Aaron will be the interpreter to Pharaoh. You will be as God was to Pharaoh, and Aaron will play the role of prophet before you. Does this say that Moses will be the God? No, God is putting His chain of command in place, as God laid out in the fourth chapter. God would do the planning and tell Moses what should be done and said, but Aaron would be the person that would actually speak to Pharaoh, and say those things that God wanted spoken. Exodus 7:2 "Thy shalt speak all that I command thee: And Aaron thy brother shall speak unto Pharaoh, that he send the children of Israel out of his land." Just as Aaron will be the head of the Levitical priesthood, the elect of the Levitical priesthood of our day will also speak all that God commands through His Spirit, and the mouth of the elect. That day is not far off today, for the elect will be delivered up before the rulers and synagogues of Satan to be used of God, as recorded in Mark 13:9 - 11. This is why it is also recorded in Joel 2:28 - 32 that the sons and daughters are going to be delivered up, and God will speak through them, and show many wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. Peter called this to the peoples attention on Pentecost day in Acts 2:14 - 21, as the hundred and twenty believing souls came into streets prophesying to the people in Jerusalem and the Holy Spirit spoke through them. Every one heard those prophecies in their own dialect back home. There was no need of an interpreter as the message from the prophet Joel was delivered. Joel 2:28, 29 "And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out My spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out My spirit." Joel 2:30, 31 "And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the hearth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord come. "Joel 2:32 "And It shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the Lord hath said, and in the remnant whom the Lord shall call out." The remnant elect shall speak what the Holy Spirit gives them at that moment in time, and that is what shall be spoken by them. Mark 13:11 "But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought before-hand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Spirit [Ghost]." This is Jesus telling you and I exactly what we are to do after the sixth trump has sounded and Satan is here on earth with his fallen angels. He will be setting up his one world religious order, that will please all of the people of this world age in their flesh bodies, except those with the seal of God in their forehead. They are the remnant, the elect of God that will not bend a knee to Satan, for each of God's elect know that Satan is the false Christ, and this Antichrist is an abomination to each of God's elect. Expect that you will be required to give account of yourself, for not bowing to that image of the beast that is going to be made up very shortly, in our day. It will be nothing to fear, Why? Satan is out to convince Christians that he is the Christ. He will be trying to do the things that Jesus will do at His return; and say the things that Christians expected Jesus to tell them. While most Christians will be expecting to be raptured away by this false Christ, those people sealed with the truth in their minds, will be given the words by the Lord to say, placed in your mind by the Holy Spirit for that moment in time. That is the only thing that God's elect will speak to Satan and his leaders in his churches synagogues. This is exactly as it was on Pentecost day, and it is as it was when Moses and Aaron went before the Pharaoh to say, "Thus sayeth the Lord God of Israel, Let My people go." Will Pharaoh let the people go? No, not until every word and act of the plan of God had been fulfilled. It will be God that hardens Pharaoh's heart, to allow for all the signs from God, and wonders to take place, as a lesson to each of living in these end times. There are no short-cuts and each sign and wonder will take place that is given by the prophets and apostles in the Word of God. We are living in a time that all the prophets would have liked to be in, for just think, We have the right to read the things and wonders that are written in His Word, and then witness them taking place before our eyes. Friend, its time to get into the Word and enjoy these prophecies, for they are the fulfillments of God's many promises, and they will all come to pass in our generation. Exodus 7:3 "And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and multiply My signs and My wonders in the land of Egypt." God is telling Moses and Aaron that when you go in before Pharaoh, "I will harden Pharaoh's heart", I will set his mind against you. Then God tells Moses and Aaron why He will turn Pharaoh against the children of Israel: So that "My signs and My wonders will take place in the land of Egypt." Moses knew before he stood before Pharaoh's throne that Pharaoh would be mad, and his mind set on messing over the children of Israel. God wanted each of the Egyptians to see all the signs and wonders, and come to know the true God of Israel. We know today from the many diggings in Egypt that these Egyptians had their many gods of dogs, cats, and any thing you can imagine, not God is going to introduce them to the one True God, the "I AM THAT I AM", Yahveh of the Israelites. It was much like we have it today here in America and the western world, for there is a denomination and religion for every possible idea that can be thought up by a human mind. And just like the Egyptians, they all thought they were correct. Just as in Moses' and Aarons' day, when God spoke and did those things at the hand of Moses and mouth of Aaron, God will use His elect to speak and do those things as the Holy Spirit places the word in the elect's mouth, and the Spirit to move and do the many wonders that shall take place in our day. Exodus 7:4 "But Pharaoh shall not hearken unto you, that I may lay My hand upon Egypt, and bring forth Mine armies, and My People the children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great judgments." Just as Pharaoh closed his mind to the words of Moses, Satan and his realm will be close-minded to what you have to say. The Lord has a host of armies that shall be used at the end of this earth age, and they will shake this earth like it has never been shaken before. God is going to lay His hand on Satan, the Pharaoh of our day, and shake the Egypt of the end times, this one world religious system that shall be formed when Satan and his fallen angels are booted out on this earth by Michael, as recorded in Revelation 12:7 - 9. So do you know the overall purpose for Pharaoh's rejection, and all the signs plagues that will take place? That's right, they are "ensamples" or examples given for our admonition, to those living upon whom the ends of the world age are come. [I Corinthians 10:11] I Corinthians 10:12 "Wherefore let him that thinketh he stand take heed lest he fall." Exodus 7:5 "And the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord, when I stretch forth Mine hand upon Egypt, and bring out the children of Israel from among them." As Moses and Aaron call out the plagues to fall on Egypt, the Egyptians will see that God has the power of control each of those events. There will be no doubt in the mind of the Egyptians that it is God that is bringing out the children of Israel from among them. Their gods of dogs, cats, fish or whatever have no strength to even stand up in the presence of the one True God of Israel. They will know that God loves them also, and they can turn to Him for protection. So this becomes important that all the events take place to teach them and the Israelites to learn and trust in the one True God. It was for the Egyptians and strangers that were traveling in the land as well. Remember that these Israelites have been living in Egypt for the past 200 years, and the only God that had been known to them was this bunch of heathen gods that were placed before them. God was letting them see the nature of the God that will lead them and their nation through the wilderness, and into the strange lands that they would ultimately migrate into. It is time for the churches of today to start to feed the flock and prepare them for the time and generation that we are living in. Today it seems like churches are more interested in blending in with other traditions and false doctrine than setting that aside to seek the truth from His Word. As we look around today we see the prophecy of Amos 8:11 coming to pass. "Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord:" Amos 8:12 "And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it." Today every gimmick and idea that man can think of to use to bring people into their churches to fill the seats and offering plates, yet they overlook the teaching of the Word of God as it ought to be taught. The flock is starved, and they are not being fed. Those traditions and false doctrine are like the gods of dogs, fish, and cats, and all the other forms if idolatry that the Egyptians could think up. Exodus 7:6 "And Moses and Aaron did as the Lord commanded them, so did they." Just as Moses and Aaron did as God commanded them; so we ought to do exactly as God commands us also through his Word. Exodus 7:7 "And Moses was forscore years old, and Aaron forscore and three years old, when they spake unto Pharaoh." Moses was eighty years old, and that number in Biblical numerics is twice probation. Aaron was three years older than Moses and it is time for deliverance from the Egyptians. Exodus 7:8 "And the Lord spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying," Exodus 7:9 ""When Pharaoh shall speak unto you, saying, `Shew a miracle for you:' Then thou shalt say unto Aaron, `Take thy rod, and cast it before Pharaoh,' and it shall become a serpent," When this came up the first time in Exodus 4:3, when Moses cast this rod on the ground, that rod turned into a serpent, and snake; number 5175 "Nachash" in Strong's Hebrew dictionary. However here when Aaron cast the rod onto the ground it became a "Tannyin, a dragon"; #8577 in the Hebrew dictionary; "A monster, sea-serpent, jackal." We know from Revelation 17:15 that the waters are symbolic for the peoples of the earth. In our day it will be the monster, the serpent that will come up over the people to deceive them into believing that he is Jesus. So pay attention that the name change closer identifies this event of Moses day to the event of our day, by using the names that Satan will be going by to deceive our generation. We say in Exodus 6 the lineage of the Levitical line that the true Messiah would be born into, and the events of this book are types of those things that shall take place in our generation, before the True Christ comes. The dragon of our day is Satan, and he is identified in Revelation 12:9 " And that great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him." Exodus 7:10 "And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and they did so as the Lord had commanded: and Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it became a serpent." Aaron cast down this rod that was in his hand and the rod became this dragon, this monster "Tannyin; jackle" of # 8577. Exodus 7:11 "Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments." As these sorcerers of the Egyptians threw down their rods, those rods became enchantments also, just like Aaron's rod. No, Satan would not allow this work of God to go by without putting on his supernatural acts also. Satan is supernatural and he will do his wonders and miracles and supernatural acts that people expect God to do also. Revelation 13:11, 12 "And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon." "And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly would was healed." This dragon looked like the Lamb, like Jesus Christ, but he spoke like the dragon. Satan will do the things that you expect Christ to do, for Satan will be supernatural, not of the flesh like you and I. Revelation 13:13 "And he [Satan in the role as the dragon] doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live." Don't lose sight that God gives Satan all the supernatural power and ability that he will do, for God warned us that this is to test those those are living on the earth at that time, whether they will follow God or Satan. God has given us all the acts and things that will be done, and told us why they are done, so if you know those things and they are sealed away in your mind, every thing that is done will be an abomination to you. Why? it is Satan playing the role of Christ, and those ignorant people of the earth believing it. If you plan to stand against Satan, you better mark these examples here in Exodus well for they will be played out again when Satan come to the earth shortly. Though Satan has powers, he still does not have the power that God has given you as a believer, when you invoke the name of Yeshua Messiah over him. God has given us power over all of our enemies, in the name of Jesus Christ. So remember that Satan does not give up easy. Exodus 7:12 "For they cast down every man his rod, and they became serpents: but Aaron's rod swallowed up their rods." As each of these sorcerers cast their rod down to the ground, as their turned into serpents, Aaron's rod of a dragon ate up all the other serpents. Exodus 7:13 "And He hardened Pharaoh's heart, that he hearkened not unto them; as the Lord had said." So just as God told Moses and Aaron in the first place, as Aaron's rod ate up the others rods, Pharaoh's mind was still set against allowing the children of Israel to be set free. When you are out there trying to do God's work, and opposition to your work comes up, don't let that take away your focus on the work that is before you. Remember that when you are doing God's work and using the gifts that God placed within you, it is not you that makes other minds open to the truth, but God's Spirit opening their minds to what you have to say. If you think that the world out there loves you and is just waiting for the words that you want to give them, you have a lesson to be learned, for the world will mock you, and make fun of what you have to say. Their hearts and minds will be closed just like the Pharaoh's was, until it was time for the Spirit of God to move and open it to the truth. You go in the name of the Lord, and not in your name. If it is accepted, is not you that is accepted, but the Word. This is why we plant seeds of truth ahead of time and allow those seeds to grow. Then at God's appointed time, the Spirit will move on that mind so that the Word become a living thing in his or her mind. You can always count on God's word coming to pass exactly as it was written. Even in the negative reaction of Pharaoh, there is a positive thing that comes from it. For as each sign and plague comes to pass, there is another warning and lesson for us to learn. God is allowing us to see His handiwork and know that He is God. Exodus 7:14 "And the Lord said unto Moses, "Pharaoh's heart is hardened, he refuseth to let the People go." Moses already knows this as he watched his reaction to Aaron's rod eating up all the other rods, as they turned into serpents. Exodus 7:15 "Get thee unto Pharaoh in the morning; lo, he goeth out unto the water; and thou shalt stand by the river's brink against he come; and the rod which was turned to a serpent shalt thou take in thine hand." God is telling Moses that he and Aaron are to take that same rod that had turned into the monster before, and go to the river bank where Pharaoh goes to bath in the morning. Exodus 7:16 "And thou shalt say unto him, `The Lord God of the Hebrews hath sent me unto thee, saying, `Let My People go, that they may serve Me in the wilderness:' and, behold, thou wouldst not hear." So how would God children serve God? By worshipping Him and turning to him for their guidance. Up to this point in time, Pharaoh would not listen to a thing that Moses and Aaron had to say, and Moses let it be know that those things that would follow will be because you would not listen to God. Exodus 7:17 "Thus saith the Lord, `In this thou shalt know that I am the Lord:' behold, I will smite with the rod that is in mine hand upon the waters which are in the river, and they shall be turned to blood." This is exactly what the two witnesses will do in the end times. Revelation 11:6 "These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will." This is also what the third angel of the end times would do as Revelation 16:4, 5; "And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rives and fountains of waters; and they became blood." "And I heard the angel of the waters say, "Thou art righteous, O Lord, Which art, and wast, and shalt be, because Thou hast judged thus." We know from the book of Revelation that the waters are the people of the earth living in their flesh bodies at that time. So if the people are turned to blood, in this respect, it doesn't mean that they will be bleeding, but in this time they will be deceived. It will not be their flesh bodies that are wounded, but their souls, their spiritual body. Satan, the Pharaoh of our time, will lead the peoples or waters of the earth to their spiritual death through deception and lies and his lying supernatural wonders that he shall perform. Satan does this because people are biblically illiterate. So what Moses is doing here by turning the rivers and waters to blood is a type of what we can expect to see in our final generation. There is a parallel to the plagues of Moses day, with the spiritual plagues that will happen in the end times. Exodus 7:18 "And the fish that is in the river shall die, and the river shall stink; and the Egyptians shall lothe to drink of the water of the river.' " To the Egyptian, the Nile river is the "father of life". The fish god is one of their gods, and the Nile was a very sacred thing to the Egyptians. When the river would overflow annually, that water would water the fields, and the fish of the river found dead in the fields would give nutrients for fertilizing the crops. Exodus 7:19 "And the Lord said unto Moses, "Say unto Aaron, `Take thy rod, and stretch out thine hand upon the waters of Egypt, upon their streams, upon their rivers, and upon their ponds, and upon all their pools of water, that they may become blood; and that there may be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, both in vessels of wood, and in vessels of stone.' " This is saying that not only will the river and streams be filled with blood, but also the water vessels in their homes. There is going to be a division between the two waters, that of the Egyptians and the Israelites given very shortly. Exodus 7:20 "And Moses and Aaron did so, as the Lord commanded; and he lifted up the rod, and smote the waters that were in river, in the sight of Pharaoh, and in the sight of his servants; and all the waters that were in the river were turned to blood." As Pharaoh was down in the river bathing himself with the water, here came Moses and Aaron, and Aaron smote the river with his rod, and it all turned into blood. As all the servants stood around watching this happen, there was nothing they could do to help Pharaoh cleanse himself to become clean. Even the vessels of water in their houses had become blood. Here not only their drinking water, their water for their fields gone back, but even this form of worship that the Egyptians had turned bad. Here Moses and Aaron took power over the form of worship and their gods. Exodus 7:21 "And the fish that was in the river died; and the river stank, and the Egyptians could not drink of the water of the river; and there was blood throughout all the land of Egypt." Stop and think for a moment of the great mess this had created for the Egyptians. The rivers and all the drinking water was blood, the fish were all dead and their floating parts were stinking up all the land. When ever there is death on a large scale, there is pollution and decay that follows. Then with all the decay that is going on comes the parasites and creatures of death that clean up the mess from God's creation. Friend, the deception that Satan will bring onto the earth when he comes in his role as the messiah, will be just as complete and devastating spiritually. The waters, being the people will be just as dead and polluted spiritually as these Egyptian waters were. I'm sure that as the people of Egypt sought out fresh water to drink and there was none, and as time passed they would turn on their lived ones, just as Jesus warned us that our family would in Mark 13:12 "Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death." Just as these Egyptians were becoming annoyed with the children of Israel by this time, if you claim the name of Jesus Christ, you will be looked upon with hate. Matthew 24:9 "Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for My name's sake." Are you starting to get the picture, for people will be completely blind to the truth of God's Word as to what is going on, even in the Christian community, for their false doctrine and traditions led them to believe one thing, and what is happening is going against their traditional thought. They believe that Satan is Jesus come to rapture them away, for they haven't been taught the truth from their pulpits and this is what mom and dad taught them. God gave us this book of Exodus so that we would have the truth of what we should expect played out before us, and yet people chose to reject that warning and disregard the Old Testament in favor of their traditions. By this time, even the Egyptian children know who the true God is, for He is the one causing them a heap of trouble. Even today the things of God, and Christians have become a focus of mockery on television daily, and many men of God are held up for ridicule. Exodus 7:22 "And the magicians of Egypt did so with their enchantments: and Pharaoh's heart was hardened, neither did he hearken unto them; as the Lord had said." The Egyptians standing before Pharaoh said that they also could have made the waters turn to blood, but they knew better to have taken the credit for what had happened here, for the sake of their lives. Exodus 7:23 "And Pharaoh turned and went into his house, neither did he set his heart to this also." God closed the eyes of Pharaoh, and sure he had seen and witnessed all these events taking place, but his mind was closed to allowing any freedom for the children of Israel. Exodus 7:24 "And all the Egyptians digged round about the river for water to drink; for they could not drink of the water of the river." Exodus 7:25 "And seven days were fulfilled, after that the Lord had smitten the river." Seven days had passed since Aaron had smitten the river at God's command, and the the people of Egypt were starving for water. Friend, one day with the Lord is a thousand years, and prophetically speaking, there will be seven thousand years to this dispensation of man living on the earth in the flesh body. We are coming to a close to that period of time, and the end is approaching fast. We are about to move into the Millennium age, and we will see what is going to happen to our generation, as the people's minds are closed to the truth. All of the signs announcing our end times, and identical to those signs that brought the children of Israel's captivity to a close in Moses day. We are about to enter into the seventh dispensation of a new age, that of the Millennium, where every knee would bow to the Messiah, Jesus the Christ, and this is a type that will lead up to Pharaoh giving in and yielding to God for what ever He desires. However if you expect rivers to be turned to blood in the end times, you will not. However if you expect to see the peoples, which the waters represent become spiritually wasted away, because of the lies and distortions of the truth brought about by Satan, then you will witness the truth. God sent the people his letter so that the people would not be deceived, yet they find pleasure replacing that letter of warning with fairy tales by false prophets and false teachers. Each of us can know exactly what is going to happen in our generation, yet most Christians find pleasure in the lies of their false teachers. If you want to know the truth, it is up to you to ask the Lord for direction and seek it from His Word, in the manner that He told us to study that word; Chapter by Chapter and verse by verse, rightly dividing it, and seek to open our mind to the wisdom and knowledge that only the Holy Spirit can place within your mind. Knowing the truth so that you will not be deceived, is what being sealed in your forehead is. So if you turn your back on that truth, God told you what to expect. Revelation 9:5 "And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months; and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man." When a scorpion strikes a man, the first thing that goes is the central nervous system that leaves the man completely unable to defend himself against that little bug. His mind is turned to mush and he doesn't even have the power of thinking straight thoughts. So how in the world are you going to defend yourself from Satan, unless you have defended yourself before he arrives here on earth. If you "are not sealed in your forehead", God is going to turn you over to Satan to have his way with your for five months, and then comes the Millennium age. If you don't move to defend yourself now, then you deserve to be deceived.
