The Fall
by
Gay Brown
And God formed Adam
from the dust and the clay
He chiseled each feature
It took Him all day
Genesis 2:7
He breathed into
this vessel
life from above
and placed in a soul
someone He could love
Genesis 2:7
He caused him to
sleep
and he took from his side
a beautiful woman
he called her his bride
Genesis 2:21,22
Then He planted a
garden
with beauty so rare
a place to inhabit
without worry or care
Genesis 2:8
Throughout the
whole garden
were trees to behold
plum trees and pear trees
and fig trees untold
Genesis 2:9
In the midst of the
garden
they were told [not] to [touch]
the tree of the knowledge
of evil and such
Genesis 2:9
With words of
flattery
satan started to speak
poor eve was no match
she was humble and meek
Genesis 3:4
She took of his
fruit
with pleasure she ate
then Adam joined in
thus sealing their fate
Genesis 3:6
She was wholly
seduced
by the serpent you see
their innocence gone
they partook of the tree
Genesis 3:13
Their eyes now
opened
they started to cry
victory for satan
for they knew they would die
Genesis 3:24
