Isaiah Chapter 32 "Yehovah's Righteous King: Desolation." This Bible Study is written by Roger Christopherson, and it's transcription/ location is provided by http://www.theseason.org Isaiah 32:1 "Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in judgment." This king that shall reign in all righteousness is Jesus Christ, and He shall reign for one thousand years. The princes that shall rule with Him in judgment are the priests, the elect of God. As we read in Ephesians 1:4; these elect of God were chosen before the foundations of this earth age. Ephesians 1:4 "According as He hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world [this earth age], that we be holy and without blame before Him in love:" Why were the elect chosen before the foundations of this earth age? Because they earned it in the first earth age at the time of Satan's rebellion. Those souls that stood against Satan earned the right to be called the elect. The elect will see the simplicity of God's overall plan. There is a chief prince that shall rule over all the other princes along with Christ in the Millennium age, as it is written in Ezekiel 37:25; "And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob My servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, even they, and their children, and their children's children for ever: And My servant David shall be their prince for ever." Isaiah 32:2 "And a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest: as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land." How could a man become a hiding place from the wind in a desert? The man would have to stand between you and the direction that the wind was blowing form to take the force of the wind's sand blast. The man that would be willing to do that for another person would have to have love in his heart for that person. So what it is saying here is that this king, Jesus Christ, and those princes, David included, will be that hiding place for the people in the Millennium age. This is why there will be no evil spirits in that day, because they will not be allowed for the entire thousand year period. A covert is a place to hide from the storms. Whereas "the rivers of waters in a dry place" are the waters that come from the throne of God, which is the truth of His Word. When you drink from that water you will never thirst again. That water is what is taught from the Word of God by a true teacher, and not a mixture from the traditions and doctrines of men. It will be filling like a fresh drink of water to a starving man. Jesus Christ is that great Rock that stands in this weary land with all of its many problems, and when we stand upon that Rock we have the comfort to know worldly problems simply can not harm you. This is also the way it is today and not just in the Millennium age, when you put your trust in Him, repent and do things His way. That is His promise to you. Isaiah 32:3 "And the eyes of them that see shall not be dim, and the ears of them that hear shall hearken." It is one thing to have the ears to hear, and yet an entirely different thing to harkens to what your ears have heard. In the time of the Millennium age, the people will want to see and understand all the Word of God. Isaiah 32:4 "The heart also of the rash shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly." The "rash" are the "hasty people". Those quick to judgment will understand knowledge, and those that now have difficulty speaking will find it normal to speak plainly and clearly. Isaiah 32:5 "The vile person shall be no more called liberal, nor the churl said to be bountiful." "The vile person", in the Hebrew text is "nebal" and means a fool, which is called a liberal here. The generation that we now live in has made the world "liberal" a bad word. However in the Hebrew text it means a noble person. "A churl" is a person that is a miser, or one that is covetous. Isaiah 32:6 "For the vile person will speak villany, and his heart will work iniquity, to practise hypocrisy, and to utter error against the Lord, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail." This is saying that those that choose to be like a fool, will talk like a fool, and what comes from his mind and mouth will also identify him or her to be that fool. In a spiritual sense, a teacher or preacher that likes to sound like the fool in his teaching of God's Word, will also act like the same. He will be an hypocrite and say and do things that are not true to the Word of God, when he knows it to be a lie. When a one verse preacher starts teaching the traditions of men and their own dogma, they are teaching against the Lord, and those dear souls that listen to that person are left hungry for the truth of God's Word. They pull one verse or so from God's Word, lift it out of context, and start then spouting their own nonsense as if that verse proves what they are saying. Friend, God doesn't like it when anyone plays games with His Word for any reason, which will cause thirsty souls to fail. God does not like hypocrisy, and that is exactly what is happening when you go to hear His Word being taught and the teacher only gives you one verse a week. The souls listening will always be left thirsty after hearing such hypocrisy. We read of this in the last chapter, where the person would dream of being filled with the words in his vision, and enjoy what is being fed to him at the time; however, when he woke up from that vision his soul would still be empty. What he thought was good food and filling was only a dream, and in reality that person was still a hungry and dying man. The only thing that is filling to the soul is exactly what is coming from the Word of God as it ought to be taught. Isaiah 32:7 "The instruments also of the churl are evil: he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaketh right." The instruments of the churl, [miser or covetous person] are his tools. In the English we call those tools "chattels" of the churl. They are the papers you sign when you borrow money to buy your house, or use on your credit cards. The chattels are not evil in themselves, but the way that he uses them are what makes it evil. The covetous person will use these papers to foreclose on a farm or home, and in charging outrageous interest rates. These papers are used for the one that wants to do right, and follow God, but their needs cause them to go to these wicked bankers and loan sharks. The words of those financial wizards are kind, only their devices or promises that come from their mouth are not the truth of what is on their instruments, or loan papers. In the end, their traps are laid to separate the righteous person from his or her property. This is common in the legal world and acceptable, and God doesn't like it. It is the way of the Kenites. There will be a time of vengeance coming and it will be God Himself that settles all accounts. Now put this in a spiritual sense; when a person is hungry to hear the Word of God, this churl pours out the traditions of men for the purpose of being covetous. The "churl" spiritually speaking is afraid that others stealing their sheep. Just as the financial "churl" is out to protect his money bag, so also the spiritual "churl" is concerned with his money bag, which is to say the collection at the offering plate. In the end, they turn themselves into beggars, and call it holy. Jesus taught against this in the word "Corban" in Mark 7:11; "But ye say, `If a man shall say to his father or mother, `It is Corban, (that is to say, a gift), by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me;' he shall be free." The priests in the temple were telling the people that it is okay if you let your parents die of starvation, and greatly suffer, because what you gave as a give to the Temple was to God. Friend, Jesus told these so-called religious leaders it is a lie. God has no intention of taking money that is required to care for their elderly parents to cause their great suffering. The priests were using the temple of God, and people's love for God to break the binding force and commitment between Parents and their children. We have the same thing going on today when preachers create problems and needs in the minds of their flocks, and then put an emotional pressure on their flock to commit a vow to that need, or preacher. This is an evil act because it binds the person not to God but to the vow just as the evil banker commits the borrower to the chattel or mortgage with hidden clauses in it. This vow gift then is not giving as God taught us to give. The giving is then to the vow, or verbal commitment, and not out of the love to our Heavenly Father. The vow then become this "churl" chattel that we are to honor as part of the law, just as we are to honor by paying our debts. That vow then is not a love gift but a legal obligation of debt, and God looks upon it in an entirely different way then a love gift from the heart. Mark 7:12 "And ye suffer him no more to do ought of his father or mother;" Mark 7:13 "Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye." Jesus taught that the instruction given by God in family matters from the Levitical law, concerning our elderly parents are still in effect. The traditions these Kenite priests taught were that the temple, the church came first in all matters, and what happened to the elderly was only secondary. These beggar preachers stand behind their pulpits, and tell their flocks that you can give your all, give until it hurts for God will give back to you tenfold. The only problem is that when you give to them under "Corbin", [churl - vows] it is not to God, but to a beggar churl, who is lifting money that could be better spent in the care of those elderly parents who need it. It is Corban, a free gift given by one who is defying the Word of God and forgoing the responsibilities that God has assign us to keep. Our people were practicing this back in the days from when the Jews came out of Babylon, and it still goes on today. These are types, and just as Solomon wrote, "there is nothing new under the sun". You will be continually taken advantage of spiritually as long as you remain biblically illiterate. If you continue to sit under one of these "one verse preachers" spouting off his traditions, how can you ever learn how to please God? Get into the Word of God, and get the tools to understand the Word in the language that it is written in. Get a good Concordance that is numbered to the Hebrew, Chaldee, and Greek dictionaries, like Strong's and study to come out of spiritual illiteracy. Also seek teachers out that teach only in this manner, and not from the traditions of church systems. Isaiah 32:8 "But the liberal deviseth liberal things; and by liberal things shall he stand." The "liberal" in the Hebrew text is the "noble", and in our generation it has take on a completely different meaning. Today the word "liberal" has attached itself to socialism, and communistic political ideas. This is not what the Hebrew word is at all. So this should read, "The noble deviseth noble things, and by noble things shall he stand." "Noble" in the Hebrew means being honest with God, and those around you. The noble things are loving God and telling Him that you love Him, and caring enough about God that you would desire to know the true words that He spoke from the entire Word of God. Isaiah 32:9 "Rise up, ye women that are at ease; hear my voice, ye careless daughters; give ear unto my speech." Those "women" that are at ease and careless, are those [men and women alike] that are self-righteous and self-confident in their religious ways. They put on a face to be high and spiritually mighty as they follow the traditions of their church systems, and not of God. God is giving a special warning to them to pay special attention to what He thinks of them and their ways. This warning by God is spoken in irony, and telling them to wake up before it is to late. God is telling you to know the difference between when you are standing in a blistering spiritual wind, and when you are standing behind the body of Christ that is sheltering you from that storm. You can only understand the difference when you study His Word and get behind the One Who gives the protection. The Rock that gives the shelter from those storms is Jesus Christ. Isaiah 32:10 "Many days and years shall ye be troubled, ye careless women: for the vintage shall fail, the gathering shall not come." God is the same yesterday, as He is today, and He is forever. As long as you continue in a self-righteous and self-confident manner it will never change. There is no gender written in this for it is written to the bride of Christ. In the times of the Old Testament it was written to the houses of God. When God stated "the vintage shall fail, and the gather shall not come;" God is telling them that He is not going to bless their wine which is their teachings, and the gathering of their fruit. If you are careless in your attitudes and go around with these one verse preachers that twist God's Word for their own purposes, God will not bless you. Everything that you do is going to fail. You simply will not have a crop, either in the agriculture sense or in the spiritual sense. Just as in horticulture, if the water does not reach the root system, the crop will not grow. If the water or spiritual flow from God's Word does not reach the mind of the person, he or she also will not grow and bear fruit. This is said in irony, and God is leaving the choice of your growth up to you. Each person will be judged on their own merits, there will be one judgment and all will be answerable for the decisions they made for themselves. Isaiah 32:11 "Tremble, ye women that are at ease; be troubled, ye careless ones: strip you, and make you bare, and gird sackcloth upon your loins." These "troubled ones" are those that like to study all kinds of things and delve in all sorts of religious and so-called spiritual things, but never get into God's Word for what it truly says. They are the careless ones in these end times for they will be the ones bare of the truth, and in sackcloth [shame] at the coming of Jesus Christ's return at the seventh trumpet. Isaiah 32:12 "They shall lament for the teats, for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vine." They will remember back to those good times they had, then they will cry for shame. In the days that this was written, women were hired to beat on their breast at funerals, and cry aloud in remorse for the great loss of the dead. God is saying that in the day of His return those that refused to study and do His Word shall see the shame of what they have done to themselves. God is warning you that this shame is going to come, and as long as you don't take shelter you will suffer. It will be to late for any correction then, and it will continue for a long time through the Millennium age. Isaiah 32:13 "Upon the land of My people shall come up thorns and briers; yea, upon all the houses of joy in the joyous city:" There is a lot of sadness today amongst God's people, drugs are running wild in the streets and in homes, children taking children's lives, and even the government is moving to strip our people from the protections both financially and socially, and under the constitution. Talk about thorns coming up, those thorns are hitting all parts of our peoples lives. Isaiah 32:14 "Because the palaces shall be forsaken; the multitude of the city shall be left; the forts and towers shall be for dens for ever, a joy of wild asses, a pasture of flocks;" The "palaces" which are the citadels or high places of security, and in the end they are going to be forsaken, and that has come to pass. The "city" which in the Hebrew tongue is "hayah" [# 1961 in Strong's numbered Hebrew dictionary]; it is the beacon, or the place where the people were to be altogether committed to. It is that place that God is saying, shall be left and deserted. Those "towers and forts", are the church houses where the beacon, which is Word of God should be taught. Those towers and forts are left to the wild asses, to those that would pervert God's Word to the children of God. It should be the pasturing for the flock, only there is no one there to feed the flock. As long as you neglect God's business, this is exactly what you are going to end up with. What is going on in your church house? The solution is to study God's Word as God intended it to be studied, chapter by chapter and verse by verse. Looking up the true meanings of it's author, and rightly dividing it in your life. Your knowledge is the beginning of God's blessing for you. It is through that knowledge of His Word that will bring His blessings into your life. Take an inventory into your life, friend; How are you doing? Isaiah 32:15 "Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest." Remember that this chapter is written to our generation, and apply to us today. Paul wrote in I Corinthians 10:11 that these things of the Old Testament were written as examples of how things would be at the end of this world age. I Corinthians 10:11 "Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come." I Corinthians 10:12 "Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall." The fourteenth verse of Isaiah is talking about the destruction of Satan's people that refuse to study God's Word, and find pleasure in false doctrines and traditions. Many experts, such as in Dr. James Moffatt's works, believe that verse nineteen follows the fourteenth verse. We will see why as we finish Isaiah 32. In the fourteenth verse God has just finished speaking of the neglected cities [churches] and the flocks that are in them. The Spirit that is poured on us from on high is the Holy Spirit of God. Even in our generation, that Holy Spirit will be poured on some of His elect, as God prepares them to bring for a people for Himself out of this final generation. Isaiah 32:16 "Then judgment shall dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness remain in the fruitful field." After every one of God's elect and those that are sealed with the truth of God's Word are called out from that wilderness, which is in this generation, then the judgments of God will come. Isaiah 32:17 "And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever." Friend, remember we are in the Old Testament here, yet this shall not come to pass until the time of the return of Jesus Christ. There is no way that this peace can ever come to pass in this age of the flesh. As long as there is man in the flesh being tempted by Satan and all his evil spirits, there is no way that this quietness and righteousness can be for ever. This is a time that is beyond the world age we now live in, in the flesh. It will be after the time when the wicked are removed from amongst us. This is the time that is spoken of in Revelation chapters 21, 22. It is the time when Heaven will be here on earth, because where ever God is that is where Heaven is. Isaiah 32:18 "And My People shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places;" This is one of God's promises to you, when you love Him, and follow His Word. This shows that God is fair and just in all His ways. God is longsuffering and gives everyone the opportunity to repentance through Jesus Christ and receive everlasting life. God doesn't want anyone around Him that does not love Him, and after the Great White throne judgment that is exactly how it shall be. II Peter 3:8 "But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." II Peter 3:9 "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." God is not slack in keeping every last promise that He has made to each of His children. He is longsuffering in His patience to us, to give each of us the opportunity to know Him and then make a choice to accept or reject Him. God doesn't want to destroy any of His children in Hell fire that will be made to destroy Satan and his realm. That is why there will be a Millennium kingdom age, and time when all His children will have full knowledge of Jesus Christ, and will be able to chose to accept Him or reject Him. It will be a time of discipline, where eternal choices will be made. II Peter 3:10 "But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. This is after the Millennium age, and after the great white throne Judgment when Satan and those judged unfit by their works, will go into the lake of fire. Revelation 21:1; "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea." The elements that are done away with are "evil rudiments", every thing that goes against God. II Peter 3:11 "Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness," Peter is reminding us to keep these things in mind as we live our lives. The desire of our soul is to live in that eternal city that God is preparing for us, His bride. Revelation 21:2 "And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband." Revelation 21:3 "And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God." The "day of the Lord" is when our Lord Jesus Christ comes at the close of this age, after Satan has ruled as the Antichrist for five month. This day starts the Millennium age, that one thousand year period where all will be changed in the wink of an eye to live in their incorruptible bodies. This "day of God" is the first day after the Millennium age, and after the time of Judgment when all works are to be tried. It is also after sending Satan and all his realm including those that choose him to hell fire; for it is the first day of eternity when all offices of the Godhead shell dwell with man right here on earth. There will be no gender, for we will all souls will be as the angels are. II Peter 3:12 "Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements [evil rudiments] shall melt with fervent heat?" II Peter 3:13 "Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. Now back to Isaiah 32:18; this is exactly the time that Isaiah is speaking of here in this verse. I hope that you can see how the New Testament is interlocked with the prophets of the Old Testament. It is all part of the same Plan of God. In God's perfect plan, He intends to give every last soul the same opportunity of accepting Him, or rejecting him, and those that are defiant to Him, will be eliminated completely. Revelation 21:4 "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." This earth age of the flesh, those loved ones, even that you are married to, will be blotted out of your memory. How could there be a time of no tears if you could see your loved ones roasting away in an eternal fire. No, the hell fire that consumes Satan will also consume all those that choose not to repent and follow Christ, and they will be turned to ashes before this new heaven and new earth comes to pass. What a great day, just awesome to think about it. Isaiah 32:19 "When it shall hail, coming down on the forest: and the city shall be low in a low place." We can see now why so many think that verse nineteen was pulled out of context and should be following verse fourteen. This verse goes back to the time of the Assyrian, the Antichrist and what it is that destroys his city, habitations, and system and closes out this earth age of the flesh. Remember that Jesus stated in Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21 that there would be not one stone left standing upon another when this came to pass. The habitation that Satan will be dwelling in on that day, will be mount Zion in Jerusalem. As He sits there all but the elect will believe him to be the true Christ, only he will be the fake. Isaiah 32:20 "Blessed are ye that sow beside all waters, that send forth thither the feet of the ox and the ass." This is saying that "blessed are you that know how to plant the seed". When you plant any seed in a dry land the first thing that you must do is find the water to nourish it and cause that seed to grow. You must provide the moisture when that seed germinates in order for the seed to live. When you use the right water, and sow by that water then the stock that grows from the seed will be healthy and can stand the wind and what ever comes its way. This has to do with the planting the seed of the Word of God in the minds of men, women, and children. We are to plant it in the minds of those that eyes to see and the ears to hear and understand what is being taught. When someone refuses to listen to you, and shows no interest in God's Word, don't worry about them because it is not you that makes the seed germinate. All you can do is sow the seed of truth and the Spirit of God will make it germinate. It is in God's hands whether or not the seed is to bring forth spiritual life. It may also be for his own protection that this person's spiritual eyes are closed. If he were to see the truth and then follow Satan there would be no forgiveness for him, when they denied the Holy Spirit to work through them. If the seed never ever germinates even in the Millennium age, God does not want them. It is for this reason that God has promised us the Millennium age, for it shall be a time for the discipline required that comes with that knowledge.
