Isaiah

Chapter 41

"Messiah's Anointing and Mission; Types, Israel and Cyrus."

Isaiah 41:1 "Keep silence before me, O islands; and let the people renew their strength: let them come near; then let them speak: let us come near together to judgment."

What this is saying is that God is calling out all of His people from all over the world, and let the religious systems be still for a moment, and let them that understand speak. Let the people hear what God's Word has to say, and not the jabbering of false religions. God is telling us to turn off those that like to rattle on in their speeches, come together and listen to My Word, study and pay attention to My truth. It is a lot later then most Christians would like to believe.

Isaiah 41:2 "Who raised up the righteous man from the east, called him to His foot, and gave the nations before him, and made him rule over kings: He gave them as the dust to his sword, and as driven stubble to his bow."

First of all, remember what God said about the nations of the earth from the last chapter?

Isaiah 40:15 told us that "the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance", they are as like a drop of water in a bucket, and the dust that is put on the balance scales that are going to be weighed. God controls all nations, He sets them up, and He takes them down.

This "righteous man from the east" is Cyrus the Great of Persia, a Gentile king. God named this king before he was born, and and gave Cyrus victory over every nation he went against.

We know from Jonah that God saved the nation of Assyria to bring punishment on the House of Israel, and when Sennacherib lost sight of who he was serving, God allowed his life to be taken and Assyria fell to Babylon. Then we noted from the books of Jeremiah and Daniel that God called king Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon His servant, and used the Babylonians as the sword against the House of Judah. When Hezekiah allowed the sweet talk and a present from the Babylonian king get in the way of His common sense, he showed the ambassador of Babylon all that he had, including his defenses. The House of Judah fell to Babylon exactly as Jeremiah told the people of Judah that it would.

Babylon fell to king Cyrus in one night as recorded in Daniel 5, when king Belshazzar, the grandson of Nebuchadnezzar had defiled the holy vessels that his grandfather had taken from temple in Jerusalem seventy years earlier. Then as Belshazzar's drunken party and orgy came late into the night, God wrote on the wall a warning that Belshazzear's kingdom was finished.

Daniel 5:25 "And this is the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN."

Daniel 5:26 "This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it."

Daniel 5:27 "Tekel; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting."

Daniel 5:28 "Peres; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians."

We see that what God wrote on the wall came true.

Daniel 5:30 "In that night was Belshazzar the king of the Chaldeans slain."

Daniel 5:31 "And Darius the Median took the kingdom, being about threescore and two years old."

"Darius" in the Chaldee tongue was an appellative denoting "the Maintainer" That night God executed judgment on Babylon through His servant Cyrus, the king of the Medes and Persians.

What God is saying in Isaiah 41:2 is that He is not only in control of the heavens, but I am also in control of the earth, and every thing that goes on here. I can raise up any person I desire, and I have chosen Cyrus a Gentile to be my servant. God used Cyrus to free the House of Judah from their bondage after the seventy years were over. The Jews were told in Jeremiah's warning that their bondage would be for seventy years.

Jeremiah 25:11 "And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years."

Jeremiah 25:12 "And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, saith the Lord, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and will make it perpetual desolation."

God punished both Houses; the House [nation] of Israel by the Assyrians, and the House [nation] of Judah many years later by the Babylonians because they lost sight of His Word, and ran off to follow other religions. They follow every new fad that came along to the point that they did not know nor trust in God. God's Word was not good enough for them, just as we are seeing in our church houses today, where they think they have to try something new.

Isaiah 41:3 "He pursued them, and passed safely; even by the way that he had not gone with his feet."

In the Hebrew text, Cyrus pursued the Babylonians and brought "peace" [shalom]. In other words; God opened up many other ways for Cyrus to conquer. When God is blessing you and taking care of you and causing problems with your enemies, you have no problems.

Isaiah 41:4 "Who hath wrought and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I the Lord, the first, and with the last; I am He."

Always remember that it was not Cyrus that brought this to pass, it was God, and it is God that controls all things from the very beginning of His creation back in the first earth age millions and eons of years ago. We see the sacred name of the Lord, "I AM" in this verse, and it is only God that knows what took place in that beginning, and in an infinity past.

God has told us what happened in that first earth age through his Word, and how it ended. Then He told us how this second earth age was formed, and those that dwell within it. God is also telling us that He has also written how it shall be "with the last". That record is what we call prophecy. It is written down by the prophets and His disciples as God revealed it to them. The one thing that you can count on is that what shall come to pass, will be exactly as it is written.

Isaiah 41:5 "The isles saw it, and feared; the ends of the earth were afraid, drew near, and came."

All those little countries saw the might and power that Cyrus had, and some fought for a while, while others submitted to Him. From one end of the earth to the other, all were afraid of His power and attached themselves to Cyrus' kingdom.

It is interesting that we can know the fixation and alignment of the nation in our day. We know that a One Word political beast has come to power, and in due time it shall receive a mortal head wound and cease to function. However, out of that system shall come a religious head of the same beast to rule the whole earth. Many fear that system to come, however, those that are sealed of God with the Word of God in their minds with understanding have nothing to fear, for God will take care of them.

Isaiah 41:6 "They helped every one his neighbour; and every one said to his brother, "Be of good courage."

When these small nations saw the mighty forces that Cyrus was bringing with him, every one said to his brother "be of good courage". Do you know what they were building? They were building a fake religion that all the world could accept. One that every neighborhood would accept throughout all the kingdom. They were not doing it God's way, but constructing an idol that they could all worship.

Isaiah 41:7 "So the carpenter encouraged the goldsmith, and he that smootheth with the hammer him that smote the anvil, saying, "It is ready for the sodering:" and he fastened it with nails, that it should not be moved."

Notice that these nations all went together, and required the help of everyone to build this idol, this false religion. The carpenters carved out the wood to have the idol take shape, then the goldsmiths covered it with gold to give it value. The silversmith made it shiny and acceptable, before the soderers put the chains on it, and sent it onto the craftsman that would nail the base to it, so it would stand erect. After all you can't have an idol that falls on its face every time the people want to bow down to it.

Any person that is so stupid that they would worship something made with human hands, that can't even stand up on it's own and has no life in it, deserves to be deceived by Satan the Antichrist. Anything that you place before God becomes an idol for you. Even a building can become an idol if you are not careful. If a church system tells you not to study certain parts of the Bible, then that system or denomination has become an idol. If that church tells you that you do not have to prepare yourself for the time of the Great deception because you will be gone in the rapture, then you are not listening to God, but to a liar. That preacher is a false teacher and he is leading you right into the bed of Satan. That is the only wedding that you will attend.

The majority of the people of this earth will go whoring after the false Messiah because they have not read God's Word for understanding. I would be very suspicious of any man that told me that I did not have to understand God's Word. It is like the blind leading the blind.

Isaiah 41:8 "But thou, Israel, art My servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham My friend."

"Abraham" in the Hebrew tongue means "the father of many nations". That means that all nations will be blessed by the "Seed", Jesus Christ that would come. God chose Abraham's family to bring forth the man child, Jesus Christ who was born to the virgin Mary in the town of Bethlehem. Friend, Isaiah is prophesying the coming birth of Jesus here, that Seed that would be born some six hundred years later.

Isaiah 41:9 "Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, "Thou art My servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away."

The first thing that comes to mind by many people when the word "chosen" is mentioned is "election", or the elect of God. These are the ones that are really special. Friend, these people of God's election are called to be servants of God to do a specific thing for Him. Whether or not you are of the election, doesn't make you any better then anyone else. Being one of the elect means that as a servant you are required to do work for your Master. It means that the Master has placed a responsibility on you and you will be held responsible for how well that you tend to that work. If you think you are one of the elect, saved by Grace through Jesus Christ, and that your works don't matter, then you just don't understand God's Word.

A servant's job is to serve to do the specific task of what the master assigns them to do. Some work in the kitchen, some tooter the young, some drive the car, and some bring their master other things that are needed. What is important is that the servant knows his purpose in the Master's household, and uses the tools and gifts that the master has let him have. The purpose is to please the Master, and when you have pleased the Master then the blessings come from Him. Those blessings have to be earned.

The elect earned their right to be called "the elect" in the first earth age. That age is the time "before the earth became void", when Satan rebelled and one third of the angels follow him. It was in the first earth age that the elect were chosen and judged "without blame before Him in love:"

Ephesians 1:4 "According as He hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world [this earth age], that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love:"

Ephesians 1:5 "Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,"

God expects service from His servants according to the gifts or abilities that each has within them. To a handicap person, their gift may be in their intercessory prayer, or in the advice and instruction and friendly support that they can give to others. To the rich, it may be in their will to give, and to any person their service is as God leads them individually. God doesn't pay till the job is finished, and if you don't do the work for Him why should He bless you with anything? This goes against what many of those liberal church houses are teaching today. Plant a seed from time to time and give a word of encouragement to those that need it, and urge them to get into God's Word for the comfort that they need.

Isaiah 41:10 "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of My righteousness."

We are not to fear God and let others mislead us, for we have a living God that loves us and is concerned for our well being. He is not some statute, system or building, but Someone that will uphold us with the His right hand of His righteousness. This is a promise from the living God, and we can count on that help when we are faithful servants to our Master.

Isaiah 41:11 "Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish."

God is making a promise to you when you seek Him and the strength of His right hand. All those that try to humiliate you for the stand that you take or the work that you do shall are going to be put to shame. Friend, God is not going to allow anyone that speaks against you and tries to do you harm get away with it. If it is a lesser offence, God will even allow their fruit to perish, what they try to do will not be a success. In the end, if they have not repented and come right with Him, even their soul shall perish. God is in control not only of the nations but of the minds of those that would do you harm. God can change that mind to come to your side of thinking. God takes vengeance on others because of His love for you.

Isaiah 41:12 "Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought."

Many Christians say that they are seeking the truth, yet they go chasing off to follow after all sorts of teaching and doctrines that go against His Word. Those that do this are wasting their time.

Isaiah 41:13 "For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, `Fear not;' I will help thee."

Our Heavenly Father that created the stars in the heavens and placed the planets in their orbits cares for your every need, when you are trying to please Him. God will take the time and the effort to tend to the problems that are before you. This is a promise that you can count on, God is saying, "I will help you." You have to love Him, and have the faith to know that He will do it, then you can ask anything of Him that is within His will, and you can count on Him. This verse is directed to His servants, those that have served the Master in obedience, and have asked for His help.

Isaiah 41:14 "Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee," saith the Lord, and thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel."

When you serve God, He assures us again that He will help us. It is after you have served that you will receive the help from the living God.

Isaiah 41:15 "Behold, I will make thee a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth: thou shalt thresh the mountains, and beat them small, and shalt make the hills as chaff."

There is a double meaning within this verse, one that cuts two ways. It is like the two edged sword that comes from the mouth of Jesus Christ upon His return, which is to say His Word. This is referring to that time when Jesus Christ returns with a rod of iron to beat down all nations, and there will be no nations as we know them today.

Revelation 19:14 "And the armies which were in heaven follow Him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean."

Revelation 19:15 "And out of His mouth goeth the sharp sword, that with it He should smite the nations: and He shall rule them with a rod of iron: and He treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God."

Not only will God take vengeance on those that have offended you personally, but His vengeance will be upon the nations of the earth, and their systems. This is the time that the earth will enter into the thousand year Millennium age when there will be only one King and He is Jesus Christ.

Isaiah 41:16 "Thou shalt fan them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them: and thou shalt rejoice in the Lord, and shalt glory in the Holy One of Israel."

On the last day of the Millennium age every thing and soul that is judged unworthy will enter into what is called the "second death". If you want to know what final means, "forever and ever", this is the time when it will become final.

Revelation 19:13 "And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works."

The "dead" are the spiritually dead souls from this age of the flesh, that will be judged by their works from the Millennium age.

Revelation 19:14 "And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death."

Revelation 19:15 "And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."

Friend, if you are not a servant of the Living God at this time of judgment, even a memory of your existence will be blotted out from mind of your loved ones. Again, this time given here is in reference to the end of the Millennium age.

Isaiah 41:17 "When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongues faileth for thirst, I the Lord will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them."

Again there is a qualification to this seventeenth verse, and it goes back to verse nine. The "poor and the needy" spoken of here during the time when there is no water, are those servants of God with the seal of God in their foreheads. That seal is the Word of God which is in their minds. The "water" spoken of is His Word, and the truth that comes from it. The time spoke on here is the time of the end, when Satan is here on earth to deceive the people of the whole earth. It is at that time when this great thirst comes. Those that the God of Israel will not forsake all those that are His faithful servants. Those servants that have remained true to Christ, and have not taken the mark of the beast, his name nor his number. This is what was spoken of in Isaiah 40:31:

Isaiah 40:31 "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."

This shall happen if you are a servant of the Living God.

Isaiah 41:18 "I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water."

There is a great change coming, and our Heavenly Father's Words of prophecy are true and you can count on it. It applies to us today just as in Jeremiah's day, or in the time of the great deception. This is an analogy that means that God will make your life better for you when you think that things are getting to tough, rough, and dry sledding, God is promising you that He will make things easier for you.

Isaiah 41:19 "I will plant in the wilderness the cedar, the shittah tree, and the myrtle, and the oil tree; I will set in the desert the fir tree, and the pine, and the box tree together:"

Each of these trees are symbols of what God will make of you. The Cedars show the strength, the shittah tree cleanses and purifies, the [olive] oil tree is the oil that we are to Anoint with, and the Pine tree is the evergreen, symbolizing life continually. The pine doesn't lose it's leaves and lay dead for a season of the year, and the Christian will remain strong even when the season calls for all the others to lay in dormancy.

Isaiah 41:20 "That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the Lord hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it."

This is why no man can take any credit for any work that the Lord has done through them. We are servants for the Master, and as servants all our work is the Masters, as well as all the glory that comes from it. God rewards us for those things that we do in His service, but it is to Jesus Christ that all glory is given. Each of us are created for only one purpose and that is to serve God and to give Him pleasure, as given in Revelation 4:11.

Revelation 4:11 "Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and hounour and power: for Thou hast created all things, and for Thy pleasure they are and were created."

God blesses and the keeper of His own Word, and He can take whomever He desires to relate His love to others. Whatever you do for Him is because God gave you the gifts to perform those tasks, and God gets the credit for it.

Isaiah 41:21 "Produce your cause," saith the Lord; "Bring forth your strong reasons, saith the King of Jacob."

God is telling you that if you want to fight against what He is saying, then produce your case before Him; show your evidence. Friend, I would be very careful as to how I approached God in criticism, after all He has given you everything for the taking, including eternal life.

Isaiah 41:22 "Let them bring them forth, and shew us what shall happen: let them shew the former things, what they be, that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or declare us things for to come."

How many so called Christians attending these modern churches have ever learned of the first earth age? That is "the former things" mentioned here. All those secrets that scientists are digging up from that age, and yet they still remain ignorant of those secrets. How can man in the flesh explain to our Heavenly Father all those hidden secrets of both the past and future? What went on at the overthrow of Satan in the first earth age, and how were the stands made by those of the elect? God is asking, can you produce the evidence from all these events? Friend the only way that we can know of these things are from His Word, and God is asking you how you can know of all these things in your flesh body?

Today many churches bring their traditions, such as the rapture theory, and expect that because they have hand crafted this idol with their tools, that God will bless this lie. They think that because it's utterance was given in their church house that it becomes a fact. They have taken bits of pieces from God's Word and put their own spin on the words, and now they want to present their evidence to God using this tradition. Friend, it just isn't going to fly, and neither are they. Why? Because God's Word does not support this fairy-tale. God is telling you to make your case for what you believe, and then He asks, Have you been taught those things that the Word of God teaches?

Compare the two, your traditions, and the Word of God, then do your choosing as to which you will follow. If the traditions and doctrines do not conform to the Word of God, what are you being taught there.?

Isaiah 41:23 "Shew the things that are to come hereafter, that We may know that ye are gods: yea, do good, or do evil, that We may be dismayed, and behold it together."

God is telling you that if you think that you can predict the future, let Him know how great you are. Tell Him what is going to happen next year, and exactly what we can expect both good and bad. Today the common thought amongst most Christians is that they don't have to know what the future will bring because they expect to fly away in some cloud. They don't want to know the Word of God because they think it just doesn't pertain to them. They think their ignorance will be their protection.

Those that think this way are in trouble because they will not be prepared for the coming of the false messiah, and the spiritual warfare that will take place then. They think that they can take II Thessalonians 2:3-7 for their defense, where they have taken a "transitive verb" given in the Greek, and substituted the Holy Spirit where it should be applied to the devil. God is telling those that like to create their own ideas, to do something to show that there is life to what they are creating. This is spoken with irony, and our Heavenly Father is teasing them a little.

Isaiah 41:24 "Behold, ye are of nothing, and your work of nought: an abomination is he that chooseth you."

God is asking you, What kind of spiritual house have you chosen? What is taught in your house of worship? Is the teaching from the Word of God, or is it created from the minds of the men and women that you selected over you? If it is not of God, then He is telling you that what ever you do is an abomination to Him.

In the second and third chapters of Revelation, Jesus took John forward to the time of the end, and showed Him seven churches that would exist at that time. Jesus informed us that only two of those churches were acceptable to Him of the seven. Those churches were the churches of Smyrna and Philadelphia, because there was one thing that they both of these churches had in common that the other churches did not have. That one thing is given in Revelation 2:9; 3:9.

Revelation 2:9 "I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty (but thou art rich), and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan."

Revelation 2:10 "Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of Life."

Revelation 2:11 "He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.' "

The churches of Smyrna and Philadelphia taught who the Kenites are and where they came from, so that they would know when the true Christ would come. They taught the two tribulations; the first one by the Antichrist that would come at the sixth trump and deceive the whole world, and the second tribulation that Jesus Christ would bring Him at the seventh trumpet. Have you been taught that? If not I think God answered your question in Isaiah 41:24.

Isaiah 41:25 "I have raised up one from the north, and he shall come: from the rising of the sun shall he call upon My name: and he shall come upon princes as as upon mortar, and as the potter treadeth clay."

This one that shall come from the raising of the sun, is coming from the east. However, he grew up to the north. It was one hundred and thirty years after Isaiah wrote this prophecy concerning Cyrus the Great, but God did raise up him and his kingdom. Cyrus was a type of the deliverer, just like Nebuchadnezzar was the type of the false Christ. Nebuchadnezzar brought the people of the House of Judah into bondage, and seventy years later Cyrus delivered them out of bondage, and commissioned the streets and walls of Jerusalem be rebuilt, and the temple reconstructed. God used Cyrus, and fore-named Him before his conception into His mother's womb.

Isaiah 44:28 "That saith of Cyrus, `He is My shepherd, and shall perform all My pleasure: even saying to Jerusalem, `Thou shalt be built;' and to the temple, `Thy foundation shall be laid.' ' "

God appointed Cyrus as His shepherd over one hundred years before the fact, and decades before the birth of the king. God's Word is priceless because it lets us know what tomorrow will bring, and when you know what tomorrow brings there is no fear. Man fears the unknown, and if man knows what is coming he can make preparation for those difficult times.

Isaiah 41:26 "Who hath declared from the beginning, that we may know? and beforetime, that we may say, `He is righteous?' yea, there is none that sheweth, yea, there is none that declareth, yea, there is none that heareth your words."

God's Word tells us when the beginning was, even in the "beforetime" which is the first earth age. God showed us His righteousness through His plan. At the time of Satan's rebellion and overthrow, God provided a way to draw His children that fell back to Himself. This earth age is part of that plan, and within that plan is the sending of His Son Jesus Christ to pay the price that the Father had demanded. No my friend, Salvation is not free, for it cost an extremely high price that only God Himself could pay. That price is the shedding of the innocent blood of His own Son, and once the price was paid, salvation was offered to all mankind, to any person that would believe on Him and accept the gift that is offered to all through repentance.

God is righteous, and the made up religions of men simply cannot tell what tomorrow will bring. Church systems cannot save you because those systems will not listen. Their teachings are like an idol, and what does an idol say? Absolutely nothing, it will only be what you have constructed it to be.

Isaiah 41:27 "The first shall say to Zion, `Behold, behold them:' and I will give to Jerusalem one that bringeth good tidings."

Isaiah 41:28 "For I beheld, and there was no man; even among them, and there was no counseller, that, when I asked of them, could answer a word."

God said, you can check out their religion and their traditions, and if they don't check out in My Word there is nothing there. When you ask their teachers to explain things of His Word, there is no one that can give you an answer. God is telling us to do the same in our church houses. Ask the preachers what they are teaching, and of the warning that He has given to us, and see what their answer is. Check them out for yourselves before you join yourself to them. Do they know who the Kenites are, or what the first earth age is all about? Can they give the answer to the basic plan of God, and to the signs for the times that we live in today?

God wants you to know about His creation, and all that He has instructed us in His Word. When we take the time to study His Word, we will learn to love Him all the more. We will see His love for us in His creation and in His plan, and it can not help but cause our love of Him even more.

Isaiah 41:29 "Behold, they are all vanity; their works are nothing: their molten images are wind and confusion."

Any time you go with the pretense of teaching God's Word and it is not taught, it is nothing but vanity. Vanity is nothingness, a state of complete void. Any time there is so-called teaching, where one or two verses are read, and then the teacher strays off into all directions except His Word, God is calling it wind [hot air] and confusion. There is only one way to teach God's Word and that is chapter by chapter and verse by verse, with understanding. You get the understanding by breaking the verse back to the language that it was written in, and that requires the right tools for study.

Today we have the numbered Strong's Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible, numbered to the Hebrew, Chaldee, and Greek languages that the Scriptures were written in. The Companion Bible uses the Authorized version of King James, that is keyed with the Structures and Critical, Explanatory, and Suggestive Notes from the Massorah, and with 198 Appendixes. There are many other helpful guides that can be used to search for the original meanings of the Word of God, but the important thing is to try to understand what God is trying to tell you through the prophets. Dig it out for yourself, and then it is yours. Don't allow the molten images, and the wind of confusion of man's tradition to be your guide.

Ask help from the Heavenly Father, and His Spirit will lead you to understanding to the level that you are capable of handling. Remember whose Word you are studying, and why. You are trying to understand exactly what God would expect of you, as well as seeing His love for you. To understand His love you have to go to the letter that He wrote to you through His prophets, and not to what someone says that He says. Those created writings of man that do not conform to what is written in His word is what is called tradition, and that is what God is calling vanity.
