Isaiah Chapter 63 "Messiah. In Person, Judgment." This Bible Study is written by Roger Christopherson, and it's transcription/ location is provided by http://www.theseason.org Many people teach Isaiah 63 as the resurrection chapter, but that is in error. The reason for this thought is that Christ is shown as dressed in red. This is because they see Jesus Christ crucified, with thorns placed on his head, his blood streaming down, and nails piercing His hands and feet. They picture His side being run through with a spear, with the blood dripping down His clothes. This train of thought is applied for the idea that the red that Christ is dressed in, is His own blood. But we should get one thing straight about our study here in Isaiah 63. The blood that is on His clothes is not His own. It is the blood of all those people around the world that will be crushed at Jesus' coming. Jesus Christ is going to "tread the winepress" and the blood is going to flow around the world. That is the cup that Jesus prayed that if could, would pass from Him, that He would not have to do this. However, our Heavenly Father would not release Him from that in the fulfillment of prophecy. Jesus knew of the cup of wrath that would be brought upon the face of the earth at His Second Advent, and that many would allow themselves to be deceived by Satan, and that this cup of wrath would also be poured out upon them. The night before His crucifixion, He went up to a place called "Gethsemane" with His disciples. It is important that we understand what happened there before we study this chapter in Isaiah. Matthew 26:37 "And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy." Jesus took with Him, Peter, James and John. Each of these men were heavy in heart and full of anguish. They knew that it was the night of the betrayal of Christ and that in a few hours Jesus would be in the hands of the Jews to be crucified. Matthew 26:38 "Then saith He unto them, "my soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me." We know from a little later in this chapter that they all fell asleep while waiting on Jesus return from His prayers. Not only would they fall asleep but every one of those disciples would deny that they knew Jesus, and He would go to the cross completely alone. This was prophecied in the Old Testament and fulfilled in the New Testament. Matthew 26:39 "And He went a little farther, and fell on His face, and prayed, saying "O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt." Jesus prayed that He would not have to "tread the winepress" with the great anger of God to destroy those that were considered the enemies of God, because they did not love His Word. Jesus is the Living Word and the standard that is acceptable to the Father, and He is the only way acceptable to the throne of God. Many people picture Christ as love, but fail to see this side of His justice. When Jesus took the whip and threw out the money changers, and cleaned up the temple, it was gentle compared to the wrath that will come upon them at this time of His Second Advent. He knows those that belong to Him, and those that are so bound up in their traditions that Christ will be a stumbling block to them; because they listen to the doctrines of men that will lead them to Satan. Why? Because they don't know the difference between the two Christs comings, mainly that the first is a fake. They will run to Satan believing him to be the True Christ, when all the time he is a fake. God has many emotions, just as you and I have being made in His image. God gets angry when He see the deception and lies that are formed to lead His children away from Him. When that appointed time comes, God will do the correcting with great wrath, and if you are one that falls to Satan, in his role as the "instead of Christ" [the Antichrist], then this wrath will be aimed at you as one of the enemies of God. God won't have mercy on all those that have sluffed off, and refused to accept the repentance that He has offered to them. The blood that Jesus shed on the cross will not save those that bow to Satan; for it only forgives sins which are repented. The reason why those that worship Satan during the great deception, (which shall come very shortly), will not repent of their sins, is because they think they are worshipping Christ. So why would they even think of repenting until it is too late, for all the time they are convienced that Satan is Jesus. Their traditions led them to worship Satan in ignorance, and their preachers taught them that those prophecies of the Old Testament, as well as the book of Revelation were not to be read and understood. Their traditions taught them that they would fly away, and those traditions left them completely defenseless against Satan's spiritual warfare against them. Instead of having the "seal of God in their foreheads", they took the "mark of the beast", because they were ignorant of what that "mark of the beast" in their "mind" and "right hand" was. Revelation 13:16 "And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:" Your mind is in your forehead, and what is think with your mind is what is sealing your fate as to whether you take the mark of the beast [Satan's kingdom], or the seal of God [which is the understanding of His entire plan from His Word]. You become the right hand man or woman when you go out to do the service for whomever you serve. The "mark in the right hand" identifies you by the service you give through your deeds, and by what you say. If you are ignorant of the coming of Satan and the fact that man in the flesh will see him first, and you run to accept him as the messiah then you have taken that mark in your right hand. It is not a electronic chip, or a visable marking as many teach today. When Satan comes he will perform many supernatural acts, because he is supernatural and God has given him the powers that he shall have. However, when you know that you will not see the true Christ in your flesh body, it should tell you that the one that you are observing in your flesh body is not the True Christ, but a fake, a counterfeit. For a counterfeit to be passed as the real thing, it must look feel and be accepted as the real thing, only the one creating it and passing it off, is a fraud. Friend, you have to be in good standing with our Heavenly Father, at the time of Christ return, or this chapter is aimed at you. You will not see our Lord's return while you are in this flesh body, for at His return all flesh is done away with, and we are all changed instantly, in the wink of an eye into our "incorruptible bodies" that shall not age nor get sick through that thousand year Millennium age period. None of us are perfect, but Jesus is the one that paid the price to cover all your sins at repentance. When you have sinned after you have been saved, you are still required to repent and name that sin to the Father in Jesus name to be under the freedom that we have in Christ. Those sins that are not confessed will be paid for at this time, not by Christ but by them. With all this in mind lets get into Isaiah 63. Isaiah 63:1 "Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? This That is glorious in His appearel, travelling in the greatness of His strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save." Edom is in the land of Ma-gog, it is the land of Esau which we call "Russia" today. The word "Edom" in the Hebrew tongue means "red". The word "Bozrah" means the "strong fortress", and God is saying that He is going to destroy the fortress that has been dyed "red", because there is blood upon their hands. This shall happen on the day of salvation, when the True Shepherd, Jesus Christ shall come with His rod of iron and make all things right. Lets go to Revelation 19:11-16, and review this time spoken of here in Isaiah. Revelation 19:11 "And I was heaven opened, and behold, a white horse; and He that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He doth judge and make war." This is the "day of the Lord" and the One riding on this great white stallion is our Lord Jesus Christ. His name is "faithful and True", as he is referred to at the end of this book of Revelation. Our Lord is coming to make war with Satan, and all those that have become part of His one world system by taking His name and number, the mark of the beast. Revelation 19:12 "His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns; and He had a name written, that no man knew, but He Himself." When Christ comes to earth at this second advent when the seventh trumpet sounds, His burning eyes are fixed on bringing righteousness to the earth and to bring vengeance and wrath on those who have ruled, deceived and cheated His people. When Jesus comes here, it will mark the end of the flesh age, and start the first day of the Millennium age. Revelation 19:13 "And He was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and His name is called the Word of God." The blood that he wore on His vesture is that of His own blood from the cross, and that of the righteous saints. Remember that this is the day of vengeance when that cup of wrath is going to be poured upon the earth. Revelation 19:14 "And the armies which were in heaven followed Him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean." We know from John 1:1-5 that Jesus name was the "Word". He was in the beginning with God, and He was God, and all things that were made, were made by Him. Then we read in John 1:14 "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." When Christ returns to judge and set up His Millennium kingdom, the saints shall return and reign with Him. Revelation 19:15 "And out of His mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it He should smite the nations: and He shall rule them with a rod of iron: and He treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God." This verse refers to Psalm 2:9, Isaiah 11:4, 49:2, and here in Isaiah 63:3. That sword that goes forth is a sharp two-edged sword, which will smite and bring down the nations. For then, the new kingdom to be set up will be a righteous one. It will be without Satan, the false prophets, and the locust army of fallen angels." Revelation 19:16 "And He hath on His vesture and on His thigh a name written. KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS." There will be no doubt to anyone living on the face of the earth who this one coming will be. All people will see Him and know that He is Jesus Christ, the King of kings and the Lord of lords. When Jesus comes on that day, He will take Satan, the Antichrist and bind him and put him in the pit where he belongs. The deception is running wild now today, because "the dogs are not barking" to sound the warning that the enemy is coming. The "watchman on the walls" of defense have hung up their shields and have gone to sleep, while the enemy is pouring over the walls of our defense. The church houses are too busy with their socials, and playing games and soothing the ears of their listeners, and while they are playing church the enemy is taking over the land and the minds of God's people through traditions and false doctrines. There is one reason that the warning is not being cried out, and that is because the shepherds and watchmen are ignorant of God's Word. They refuse to read with understanding, the prophecies that give the warning that Satan, the enemy is coming. Isaiah 63:2 "Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winefat?" This means that when He gets into the winepress and treads the grapes, the grapes splattered all over Him. Isaiah 63:3 "I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment." The army that will return with Christ will be supernatural, as the angels. They will not be part of the trampling of the grapes, the wrath poured out at the beginning of this return. However there will be many that will be part of the trampling of Satan's kingdom during his reign as Satan, the instead of Christ, when they are delivered up to give answer, as written in Mark 13:11. Mark 13:11 "But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Spirit." What Jesus shall do on this "day of the Lord", He will do in anger and vengeance paying the price for all those evil and wicked things that men have done to His children. We read of this day above in Revelation 19:15. God has a lot of stomping to do, and it is going to happen. God is going to make a complete change to this old world, and the evil things of this world and those that are part of it will be gone. It is up to you whether Christ's coming will mean rewards or punishment, for you are being warned that this time is coming. The time of Satan's coming in the role of "the instead of Christ" is also coming upon us. The one world system has already been formed and every nation on the face of the earth is a member of it. The Jews have retuned to Jerusalem, and many of the end time prophesies are history to us today. It is time to wake up and pay attention before it is to late. The way that you go now is up to you, you have chosen whether you will be an enemy of Christ, or one of the seal with His Word in your mind. Are you ready for the spiritual battle with Satan and his spiritual realm, or are you going into that battle competely defenseless. Revelation 14:19 "And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God." The angel spoken of here that takes His sickle to the people of the earth is Jesus Christ. You don't harvest grapes with a sickle, you harvest them by picking them one at a time. However the grapes that are harvest here are not to produce wine but to be destroyed in the great winepress of the wrath of God. That is the cup that Jesus spoke of that we spoke of at the beginning of this chapter. Revelation 14:20 "And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horses bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs." When the cup of wrath is poured out from this winepress, don't you become part of that blood that shall flow, as the analogy puts it, "even to the horses bridles". Make sure that the false christ that comes first does not deceive you, expecially through his rapture doctrine. You have the Word of God, so document it for yourself. Isaiah 63:4 "For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come." Remember what Jesus said, that was a quote from Isaiah 61:2? "To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;" Jesus stopped in His quote after "the acceptable year of the Lord", for all the prior words pertained to His First Advent. Then the last part would not happen until the end of this earth age, after Satan came in his role as the false christ, and the slain of the three witness had taken place and they had laid in the streets of Jerusalem for the three and one half days. When Jesus returns to earth and pours out His wrath upon the earth upon the wicked, it is a comfort to all of God's elect, that stood their ground and did not bow to Satan and take his name. For those that refuse to study and place the Word of God in their minds, it will be a great day of shame and grief. It is up to you where you will be, for no one can force you to seek God and do what is required of you to prepare your mind for the spiritual battles that are going come. There are no free rides, except for salvation itself, and then it is up to you to repent when you fall short on a daily basis. Isaiah 63:5 "And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my fury, it upheld me." "My fury" is "my righteous indignation". When righteous indignation swells up within you, you never need to apologize. Today most people don't know the difference between arrogance and righteous indignation. One is caused by what Satan has done to God's people, and the other is a tough love for what is known to be of God and right. God's love can hurt at times as He corrects His own, whereas without that correcting by our Father at times, would allow that soul to be lost. When God's Word hurts and corrects then it is right, and the Word is followed, it saves souls. Isaiah 63:6 "And I will tread down the people in mine anger, and make them drunk in my fury, and I will bring down their strength to the earth." At this point stop and consider that though this is talking about blood flowing in the streets, at Christ return all flesh is done away with. Paul tells us of this in I Corinthians 15:50-52. I Corinthians 15:50 "Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption." When Jesus Christ returns to earth to set up His Millennium kingdom, the kingdom of God, flesh and blood cannot exist on earth at that time. The flesh body is corruption, and the new body that our souls will be housed in for the Millennium age is called the "incorruptible body". That body shall not age nor get sick, and will have complete recall and knowledge of His Word. I Corinthians 15:51 "Behold, I shew you a mystery; we shall not all sleep [die], but we shall all be changed," A mystery is something that has not been revealed yet, for when it is revealed then it is no longer a mystery. That mystery that Paul is revealing here is that every soul on the face of this earth will be changed from their flesh body to their new incorruptible bodies. At a certain point in time, which was the mystery, death of the body as we know it today will not happen, for the flesh body will not exist. The flesh body is for this age of the flesh where souls are brought into this world through the womb of woman, according to God's plan. Each of those souls would each have the choice to chose for themselves whether they would serve God, or chose Satan. I Corinthians 15:52 "In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed." Paul is now telling you exact when this mystery will take place, and it will be at the sounding of the seventh and last trumpet, after all other trumpets have been completed. That includes the coming and rule of Satan in his role of the Antichrist. This is the "day of the Lord", and it is also the "day of vengeance" as spooken of in Isaiah 63. The time it takes for all flesh bodies to be changed into their new incorruptible bodies shall be faster than you can blink your eye. I Corinthians 15:53 "For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality." For those that were not deceived and did not bow to Satan, but had the seal of God in their minds, they shall be given immortality at this moment. They shall all receive the rewards of their inheritance at the same time. The others that were deceived must wait until after the thousand years are over and be tested again through their works when Satan is released for a while, before they receive their immortality. The incorruptible body has no blood, and the pain of those that yielded to Satan's deception will be their great shame. They will realize that they blew it when they fell for Satan as the True Christ. It will be the most devistating thing that will ever happen in their lives. This time is coming very shortly and when it does Jesus' fury will be in full force, for His patience has been held back for two thousand years. When righteous indignation is held back for a long time, when it is released, it comes out with full force, and covers the entire earth. This is Jesus Second Advent when he comes as the our King, and not as a little baby to be crucified. This is not a resurrection chapter, this is an advent chapter. He is not in flesh and blood body to be spit upon, but the true King of kings and Lord of lords. Jesus comes here with a rod of iron that breaks His enemies. Jesus will tromp them into the ground at this time. This may give a different view of those that think of Jesus as one that turns the cheek to His enemies. Yes, Jesus is a loving God and He loves His elect and those that love Him and are true to Him. He is also a just God, and this is a time when God will get even with those that laid their hands on His elect. Isaiah 63:7 "I will mention the lovingkindness of the Lord, and the praises of the Lord, according to all that the Lord hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which He hath bestowed on them according to His mercies, and according to the multitude of His lovingkindnesses." To fully understand this verse lets use an analogy for a moment. Say you were walking through the park with your child, and a fierce dog came out of the bushes and snatched your child and started to drag that child back into the bushes, what would you do? Of course you would stomp on the dog. You see, God has called on those who are aware of the danger, to sound a warning and they have not complied. This is an analogy used for those that do not care. When those dogs begin to speak against His children, and tug at them in name calling and harassment, God is going to stomp them. That is a good thing, and it shows that we have a loving God. The point of this analogy is that it is very natural for a parent to protect His child. Satan, his children the Kenites, and those that allowed themselves to be deceived have badgered God's children for years and God is growing tired of it. In our Heavenly Fathers love and mercy, He will put an end to it. On the day of Jesus Christ's return when those that have been so lazy to study God's Word and take the word of man's traditions, will emerge from out of the winepress at the seventh trump in their spiritual body, they will have no doubts that there is a God. Sure they will be in their incorruptible body that will not age nor get sick, but the curse of death will still be upon their soul which will not be immortal. By the time Jesus gets through with His squeezing them out, they will know that there is a God, and that is Jesus loving kindness and mercy, to show all the world once and for all that He is King. Isaiah 63:8 "For He said, "Surely they are my People, children that will not lie: so He was their Saviour." The subject here is children that will not lie. Jesus Christ is our Savior, is He yours? Jesus will educate His people one way or another. He told us that His people are the House of Israel in verse seven, and most of them don't even know who they are. He will either educate them through His Word in this flesh age, or through discipline in the Millennium age. That is God showing His love for us. Isaiah 63:9 "In all their afflection He was afflicted, and the Angel of His presence saved them: in His love and in His pity He redeemed them; and He bare them, and carried them all the days of old." Anytime you are afflicted when you are one of God's elect, it hurts our Heavenly Father. The "Angel of His presence" that saved us is His Holy Spirit. In Jesus Love and His pity for our lost condition, set apart from God, Jesus became our Kinsman Redeemer. Our Heavenly Father carried the children of Israel through the hard times in the wilderness. He fed there when there was no food, and made the water come out of the rock. God loves His children and He will carry you right through the times when the entire world is deceived and Satan and his locust army of fallen angels are here on earth. Isaiah 63:10 "But they rebelled, and vexed His holy Spirit: therefore He was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them." This is the reason that Jesus Christ's clothes were stained with their blood. When anyone fights against God and His ways, he becomes God's enemy. After the Children of Israel left Egypt, God took care of them for forty years, even though they rebelled and complained continually against His Spirit. When they entered into the promised land and settled in, they continued to turn against the Spirit of God, until they finally built an altar to God as a witness of their commitment to Him, as written in Joshua 22. Isaiah 63:11 "Then He remembered the days of old, Moses, and His People, saying, "where is He that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherd of His flock? where is He that put His Holy Spirit within him?" When you get to the point where it seems that God is your enemy, that is the time to put the breaks on and consider where you are. Moses was the shepherd that led the people, and the Holy Spirit is the One that lead Moses. Just as the walls of water were held away from the children as they passed through the Red sea on dry ground, the walls of God can be built to protect you from your enemies in these end times. When you have faith in Him and believe in Him, He will protect and guide you today when you love Him and tell Him so. It doesn't matter if you continually fall short of God's ways, but if you make an attempt to follow His ways, and when you fall short you repent in Jesus name, then God forgives you and counts it as perfect. He will then keep that wall of protection there for you, so you can cross over into the promise land on good ground in your daily life. God can even change the minds of your enemy, if it is needed. He can even change the mind of your mate when there is conflict, and make him or her agreeable. Isaiah 63:12 "That led them by the right hand of Moses with His glorious arm, dividing the water before them, to make Himself an everlasting name?" God is telling you that you should never forget about what He did for Moses and the children of Israel, for through that name and His reputation of providing for them is an example of what He will do for you. That glorious arm of God that divided the waters, and His name that Moses and the children of Israel carried with them is everlasting even to our day. And He will part the seas of hard times for you, that allows you to pass safely, just as sure as our forefathers passed through the Red sea, if you believe Him. Isaiah 63:13 "That led them through the deep, as an horse in the wilderness, that they should not stumble?" God led them through the bottom of the sea, and the word "wilderness" is actually "desert" in the manuscripts. God is telling us that when they walked through that sea, it was actually as dry as a horse walking in a desert, and so smooth that no one would fall. God took care of them, and that is why He said, "I am the Way". The way means a highway, a place to be traveled upon. This is an example for us to follow no matter what generation we life in. Isaiah 63:14 "As a beast goeth down into the valley, the Spirit of the Lord causes him to rest: so didst thou lead thy People, to make thyself a glorious name." This is using an anology to show how peaceful God will cause His people to be. Picture a herd of cattle grazing down in the valley, where they are protected from all harm. The pasture is rich with grass, and there is no wild beasts to disturb them. When the cows are there to graze, in time even the valley becomes richer in soil and pasture just for their having been there. They are full and they are content. This is how God is picturing the children of Israel in their wanderings through the desert to the promise land. He led them and He fed them and provided for their every need. Picture that in your mind, for that is what God is promising for you today when you are one of His and love Him. What kind of life do you have today? God is promising that for you if you will love Him and claim those promises for yourself. When God withdrew from them, it was because of their rebellion against God. They refused to ask God for their protection. Isaiah 63:15 "Look down from heaven, and behold from the habitation of thy holiness and of thy glory: where is thy zeal and thy strength, the sounding of thy bowels and of thy mercies toward me? are they restrained?" God is asking you, where is your love and mercy? If you don't feel that love and mercy toward God, then you have a problem. That love must come from deep within you and be genuine before it will give you the zeal and strength from God. If it is not there, it means that you are incomplete in the way that you approach our Heavenly Father. It means that you do not have the key to enter into the door, and that key is through Jesus Christ only. This chapter is addressing Jesus' Second Advent. Why would you ever ask God to look down on you, for God is always looking down on you; it is you that must look up to Him, and to His Son that paid the price on the cross for your sins. For the key to be used, there must be repentance in Jesus name for He is the key for the forgiveness of all sin, and the release from the guilt that sin brings. Isaiah 63:16 "Doubtless thou art our Father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: thou, O Lord, art our Father, our Redeemer; thy name is from everlasting." This seems like a true legitimate cry, however the prophet is stating it in such a way that most people of the House of Israel don't even know that they are of the seed of Abraham. "Abraham" in the Hebrew tongue means "the father of many nations". It is through the seed of Abraham that Jesus Christ would come. We can document this in Luke 3:23-42, the genealogy of the blessed virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus. It is through Abraham that Jesus our Savior was born and all those that would believe on His name will be saved. That is the key of David that must be understood before one can know the heart of God. God prophesied in the garden of Eden that a Seed would be born that would bruise the head of the serpent Satan. That Seed, or Child would come through Eve, the mother of all living, for the soul is not living until God gives it eternal life, and that life comes only through Jesus Christ, the Seed. Our Lord is our Heavenly Father, and Jesus Christ is our Kinsman redeemer, the only one that has the right to claim your soul, for He paid the price for it with His own blood on the cross at Calvary. There can be no doubt that Jesus Christ is eternal, for the documentation is in John 1:1. John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." John 1:2 "The same was in the beginning with God." John 1:3 "All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made." John 1:4 "In Him was life, and the life was the light of men." John 1:5 "And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not." If you have trouble understanding the fact that Jesus Christ is eternal, He is the Word, and He was with God before all things were created. You may ask; How could this be? The Jews asked this same question of Jesus in John 10:24: "How doest thou make us doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly." John 10:25 "Jesus answered them, "I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me." John 10:26 "But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. John 10:27 "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:" John 10:28 "And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand." John 10:29 "My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all: and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand." John 10:30 "I and my Father are one." This is the climax of His claim to His oneness with the Father as stated in John 10:18. the word "one" is neuteral, and is one in essence, not one person which would be masculine. The office of Savior is separate from the office of the Almighty Father, which demands perfection, and that perfection can only come through the blood of the perfect one, Jesus Christ. That is why God the Son came down to earth in the form of a little baby in a flesh body. John 1:14 "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." When we love Him and confess our sins before Him we become one of His. His name is from everlasting, because He is in control of all events. Eternal in not just in this earth age of the flesh, but it goes into the first earth age and to eternity both the past and the future. Isaiah 63:17 "O Lord, why hast thou made us to err from thy ways, and hardened our heart from thy fear? Return for thy servants sake, the tribes of Thine inheritance." Friend, if you are wise in His Word, you will never ask God such a stupid question, for God gave you and your soul the right to choose for yourself which path you would take. He allowed you to choose between Him and Satan, and if there is a error from the ways of God and a hardening of the hearer, it is you that has caused it to yourself. Don't blame God for the hardening of your mind against Him to where you cannot love God. This is one prayer that I would not want to be guilty of giving to our Heavenly Father, because it is blaming God for all the sins and faults that you have committed. This is what Isaiah is trying to make you see, for God will allow you to be whatever you want to be. When the children of Israel turned away from God and His ways, then God allowed them to go to heathen Gods. Just before Stephen's death He preached to the Jewish leaders, and said: Acts 7:41 "And they made a calf in those days, and offered sacrifice unto the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their own hands." It was the choice of each person to make the idols and serve and make sacrifice to those idols. They created their gods, and then they worshipped what they devised in their own imaginations. Acts 7:42 "Then God turned, and gave them up to worship the host of heaven: as it is written in the book of the prophets, 'O ye house of Israel, have ye offered to me slain beasts and sacrifices by the space of forty years in the wilderness" The "host of heaven" is angel worship. It is just as heathen as worshipping a calf, of the heathen goddess Ishtar. The House of Israel, which was the ten tribes to the north of Judah, are long scattered across the world in migrations, and though they are known today by the name "Caucasians", nationally they are known by many other ames today also. They are the offspring of the ten tribes that made up the House of Israel, and today they can be identified because they carry the name of the "living God", Jesus Christ. Hosea 1:10 "Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, `Ye are not my people,' there it shall be said unto them, `Ye are the sons of the living God'." The children of the House of Israel were scattered because of their own choosing, and God divorced them for their action. However, after Christ's death on the Chross He drew them back to Himself, and they became known by His name, "Christians". Acts 7:43 "Yea, ye took up the tabernacle of Moloch, and the star of your god Remphan, figures which ye made to worship them: and I will carry you away beyond Babylon." Just as those forefathers chose to follow Moloch, the angels and many other forms of idolatry, today there are just as many forms of idolatry or more to follow, and when you do, God will turn you over to them. Babylon in these end times is the one world system that is well on it's way and in the end will be ruled by Satan in his role as the instead of Christ, or Antichrist. If you chose to go through life being Biblically illiterate, then you will chose to Satan by your own ignorance, and God will allow it to happen. Your fate will be sealed in your mind before Satan's coming, because once Satan has arrived all others who are not sealed, or know the truth, will be taken by him. The point to what Isaiah is saying here is, do what you want to do but don't blame God for your poor decisions, and the consequences that comes from them. It is real strange that people can be so well educated, yet at the same time be so Biblically illiterate. God is promising you that He will abandon you if you abandon Him, but you must leave Him first. He will never cause you to err, and when you get to the state of mind to accuse Him of it, you're in trouble. Isaiah 63:18 "The People of thy holiness have possessed it but a little while: our adversaries have trodden down thy sanctuary." This looks ahead in time to our time of today. It is looking to a time when the people will be looking to Jesus to come and rapture His people out of here. That will be a very sad day, for the Jesus that comes first is a fake, and that false christ has come to lie and deceive the people of the world to worship him. Everything surrounding the coming of that false christ Satan in his role as the Antichrist is detailed in both the Old and New Testaments. Antichrist is coming first to deceive as many as he can, and he will have his bus load of fly-aways. It is going to happen, and they will worship Satan as He will trodding down his adversaries as he sits in the sancturary in the holy place in Jerusalem, and declares himself to be God. Isaiah 63:19 "We are thine: thou never barest rule over them; they were not called by thy name." Through the confusion that the false Messiah will bring with him, and the control that he will have over them, all those that are deceived will gladly serve Satan. The place where Satan will rule from is Zion, the same place where God made an everlasting covenant, as recorded in Ezekiel 16:8; "Now when I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, behold, the time was the time of love; and I spread my skirt over thee, and covered thy nakedness: yea, I sware unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee saith the Lord God, and thou becamest mine." It is on Mount Zion in Jerusalem where God's temple will sit, and it is in that location where Satan shall sit and commit "the abomination of desolation", by declaring himself to be God. Jesus told us that it would happen before we would see his return in Matthew 24:15, when He was quoting from Daniel 9:27. Yet most christians today just don't want to believe it. It is like they are calling God a liar, and they will bow to Satan to prove that they are right. How stupid can they be. This verse is the forerunner of Paul's verse in II Thessalonians 2:4; "who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the Temple of God, shewing himself that he is God." We saw in the verse just prior to this that Satan, the son of perdition will come first, and Paul is warning us so that we living in these last days will not be deceived. II Thessalonians 2:3 "Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition." This wrath that Jesus Christ shall bring upon the earth at the last day of this earth age is the subject that this chapter is all about. Though the translators have made a break here, the subject in the text flows right into the next chapter, Isaiah 64.
