Leviticus Chapter 18 "Ceremonial Laws and

In Genesis, when Adam and Eve were created and placed on the earth, it was necessary for their children to be incestuous, other wise the seed line of Jesus Christ would have been corrupted right along with the rest of the human race. Genesis 6 tells us that when man started to multiply, the Nephilim or fallen angels came to earth, saw the daughters of men, and married and had offspring by them. These offspring were giants, which were known as "men of renown", they were the heroes of Greek mythology, the primitive truth, corrupted by the transmission of time. The Lord saw what was happening and it grieved Him. God said; Genesis 6:7 "And the Lord said, "I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping things, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth Me that I have made them." However there was on man and his family that did not become contaminated by this influx of fallen angels, and that was Noah and his family. Genesis 6:9 "These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God." God was out to destroy this earth age of flesh man, only here is one man and his family that found favor with God. He "was perfect in his generation", and this word "perfect" in the Hebrew text is "tamim"; meaning "without blemish as to breed or pedigree." This is talking about blood lines, father to son to grandson and so on. People taking part in dog and shows know exactly what pedigree is. Noah listened to God and followed the instructions God gave him. He did not marry or allow these fallen angels that contaminated the rest of the human race to have marriage into his family. So the idea of incest being prohibited came after the flood of Noah. This writing by God through Moses about incest came is about a thousand years after Noah's flood, after the time of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob; and some four hundred years after God's blessing promise to Abraham. It is directed to the people of the promise, of the lineage of the coming Messiah. Leviticus 18:1 "And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying," Leviticus 18:2 " "Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, `I am the Lord your God." "I am" is the sacred name of YHVH our heavenly Father. Leviticus 18:3 "After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do: neither shall ye walk in their ordinances." After those abominable practices that you saw and practiced in Egypt when you lived there: It is over, you will not do them again. I will bring you into the land of Canaan, to be amongst other people but you will not follow their ordinances [practices]. Leviticus 18:4 "Ye shall do My judgments, and keep Mine ordinances, to walk therein: I am the Lord your God." However while you are there in the land of Canaan, you will keep my ordinances and statutes, and follow them in your daily life. Over and over God repeats that "I am the Lord your God". God is not playing games with these children of Israel. Leviticus 18:5 "Ye shall keep My statutes, and My judgments: which if a man do, he shall live in them: I am the Lord." Again God is repeating the need for Israel to keep His statutes and judgment. If you follow them you will live, and the opposite to this is "your not going to live". Leviticus 18:6 "None of you shall approach to any that is near of kin to him, to uncover their nakedness: I am the Lord." So the point to understand here is what does it mean to "uncover their nakedness"? This is not just addressed to Israel, but to all peoples on the face of the earth. God is forbidding any man to sleep with and have sex with anyone that is near of kin to him. No exceptions. "Near of kin to him", is the "remainder of his flesh". We are talking about that man's children, and the people of his family. To uncover ones nakedness is to lay down with them for the sake of having sex, to conceive children. Leviticus 20:11 "And the man that lieth with his father's wife hath uncovered his father's nakedness: both of them shall surely be put to death: they have wrought confusion; their blood shall be upon them." Do you understand, there is no room for argument over this issue with God, and the punishment for contaminating the blood line is death. Then in Leviticus 20:12 the idea of Sodomy comes up, man lying with man; woman with woman. Leviticus 20:13 "And if a man lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them." Throughout our nation, and the world today, Satan is moving to prepare the world for his coming. Jesus warned us in Matthew 24:37, 38; [37] "For as the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage until the day that Noe entered into the ark."[38] The entire population of the world was messing around with these fallen angels, and Sodomy was everywhere accepted. Leviticus 18:7 "The nakedness of thy father, or the nakedness of thy mother, shalt thou not uncover: she is thy mother; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness." When you lie with either father or mother, you uncover the nakedness of the other. When man and wife become married, they become one flesh. So what you are doing to one, you also do to the other. Leviticus 18:8 "The nakedness of thy father's wife shalt thou not uncover: it is thy father's nakedness." In the Hebrew text, when it is stated "thy father's wife, it is referring to the step mother. In verse seven it is talking about the blood mother and father, and in this verse the step parent of the individual talked about. This is also extended to concubines at this time of the writing. Leviticus 18:9 "The nakedness of thy sister, the daughter of thy father, or daughter of thy mother, whether she be born at home, or born abroad, even their nakedness thou shalt not uncover." This verse is talking about sexual activity with the half sister of the man, born to either the father or the mother, born in the family unit or outside the family unit; dealing with first and second marriages. When the father has had a first marriage, and this relationship then is with a son or daughter of the first marriage, marrying the daughter of the second marriage. Leviticus 18:10 "The nakedness of thy son's daughter, or of thy daughter's daughter, even their nakedness thou shalt not uncover: for theirs is thine own nakedness." This then is looking at a sexual relations between a grandparent and the grand-daughter or grandson. The act is forbidden by God and is punishable by death to those that do it. This is kin flesh to each other. Leviticus 18:11 "The nakedness of thy father's wife's daughter, begotten of the father, she is thy sister, thou shalt not uncover her nakedness." This again is talking about a half-sister and half brother sexual relationship. Again this comes about when there is a second marriage. Leviticus 18:12 "Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father's sister: she is thy father's near kinswoman." This is talking about the sexual relationship between a paternal aunt with her nephew; both coming from the lineage of the same blood line. Leviticus 18:13 "Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother's sister: for she is thy mother's near kinsman." This is the relationship between a nephew and his mother's sister, also of the same blood line. Leviticus 18:14 "Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father's brother, thou shalt not approach to his wife: she is thine aunt." This then is talking about the sexual relations between the wife of an uncle on your father's side of the family. Leviticus 18:15 "Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy daughter in law: she is thy son's wife; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness." This instruction is between the father and daughter in law, which is also forbidden. We see all the various combinations of relatives and that all sexual relation between them is strictly forbidden by God. The punishment to these relationship will be covered later on; for it is death to both parties by stoning. These set of instructions are dealing with the lineage that our Lord and Savior would be born through, as we read in Luke 3:23-38; and Matthew 1:1-17. Leviticus 18:16 "Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy brother's wife: it is thy brother's nakedness." Though this is given in the negative, there is also an exception to this verse. For if the brother dies, then the brother of the diseased man is required to marry her if there were no children born to his brother. Deuteronomy 25:5
"If thy brethren dwell together, and one of them die, and have
no child, the wife of the dead shall not marry without unto a stranger:
her husband's brother shall go in unto her, and take her to him to wife,
and perform the duty of an husband's brother unto her." Leviticus 18:17 "Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of a woman and her daughter, neither shalt thou take her son's daughter, or her daughter's daughter, to uncover her nakedness; for they are her near kinswomen: it is wickedness." This is covered in more detail in Deuteronomy 27:20, for it becomes a cursed thine to have sexual relations with ones mother in law. This forbids one to take a woman and her daughter to wife at the same time, for they are near kinswomen themselves. Having a common husband becomes wickedness. Leviticus 18:18 "Neither shalt thou take a wife to her sister, to vex her, to uncover her nakedness, beside the other in her life time." This is talking about marrying two sisters at the same time, or marrying the second sister, while the first sister is still alive. To vex her, is to bind her up in a relationship of commitment while the other sister is still living. With the two sisters having a common husband would be the same as the two sisters sharing the same bed [the act of homosexuality]. Leviticus 18:19 "Also thou shalt not approach unto a woman to uncover her nakedness, as long as she is put apart for her uncleanness." This verse gets back to Leviticus 12, and 15:19 whereby after childbirth there is a time of separation between husband and wife while she is in her state of uncleanness. Leviticus 18:20 "Moreover thou shalt not lie carnally with thy neighbour's wife, to defile thyself with her." The word "neighbour" is any associate, or person in the community. Leviticus 18:21 "And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through the fire to Molech, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the Lord." Verse 21 gets into spiritual whoredoms. The "passing through the fire to Molech" is written to a time ahead, for these children of Israel, for this was written at the beginning of the journey through the wilderness, and the passing through the fire was a religious form that they would come in contact with years later. This was done by using their own children in a sacrificial offering, rather than animals. The Canaanites were doing this in the early years, but in modern times it would be like a parents scaring their child into believing that God is out to burn them in hell fire to get them to obey them. God is a god of love, and He wants them to come to Him for their protection. In any case, to profane the name of YHVH in this manner, Our heavenly Father does not like. Leviticus 18:22 "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination." This verse is talking about taking part in the perversion of homosexual acts, man with man or woman with woman. The act is an abomination, and it is an abomination to God. The penalty for doing these homosexual acts of sodomy was death. Chapter twenty deals with these perversion in detail. I Corinthians 6:9, 10 "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,....shall enter into the kingdom of God." This is New Testament, and not just Old Testament. Leviticus 18:23 "Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shalt any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion." These acts of having sexual relations with animals were practiced by in Egypt, where the children of Israel were in bondage for several centuries. They were camped here at the foot of mount Sinai, receiving the instructions from God for their journey back to the promise land, but at the time of this writing, the memories from Egypt was only a few years back, as part of their lives. God is letting His people know that that practice would no longer be acceptable under any circumstance. Leviticus 18:24 "Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you:" The nations that are being cast out of the promise land are the five nations of the Canaanites. Leviticus 18:25 "And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants." The land is taking on the appearance of a human being, and it will revolt against the inhabitants of the land of Canaan. These inhabitants were so evil that even the earth would not allow them to remain within its soil. Leviticus 18:26 "Ye shall therefore keep My statutes and My judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations; neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you:" There is a little stronger message than just keeping God statutes and Judgments that were given in these chapters. We are to guard against others making these abominations, and violating God's statutes and judgments within our land. Leviticus 18:27 "(For all these abominations have the men of the land done, which were before you, and the land is defiled;)" Remember that the offspring of the second influx of fallen angels were mix with the nations that possessed the land of Canaan before Joshua and the children of Israel came in to possess the land. That was one of the reasons why God gave the order to kill off all the men, women and children of those nations that were there. These practices of homosexuality were common in the land, and God forbid it to take place amongst His people. those Canaanites were direct descendants from the fallen angels, the Nephilim. Leviticus 18:28 "That the land spue not you out also, when ye defile it, as it spued out the nations that were before you." God is warning you that if you do as the Canaanites did, then God will do the same to you as He did to them. Leviticus 18:29 "For whosoever shall commit any of these abominations, even the souls that commit them shall be cut off from among their people." The penalty for the violation of these laws and ordinances is to be exterminated from your people. Leviticus 18:30 "Therefore shall ye keep Mine ordinance that ye commit not any one of these abominable customs, which were committed before you, and that ye defile not yourselves therein: I am the Lord your God.' " The Lord has stressed and emphasized that this body of laws and ordinances dealing with the statutes of relations of family members, as well as those dealing with the perversion of homosexual acts, and that with animals is strictly forbidden by Him. If you claim to be a child of the Living God, You will not have any part in any of these abominable perversions. Our Heavenly Father did not leave any room for taking part in these acts, for it is an absolute fact in the eyes of YHVH, our Heavenly Father. The word "customs", is given here is "statutes", for they were legal enactments of the land. These statutes of the law are just as true today as they were in that day God gave them to Moses. Jesus told us in Matthew 5:17 "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill." Jesus came to fulfill all the blood ordinances that dealt with blood rituals and sacrifices, which God required under the law. These have been discussed in detail in this book of Leviticus. Matthew 5:18 "For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled." Until all of the writings of Moses and all the prophets of the bible have come to pass, not one jot or tittle affecting one word of the Bible will be changed from what is written in God's holy Word. Many today think that they can throw out the book of Revelation, the health laws, or other parts of the bible, and because of their traditional thoughts, they say that it doesn't apply to them; but Jesus is telling us that it does, and if they are in Christ, they will be obedient to His Word. Matthew 5:19 "Whosoever therefore shall break on of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven." These laws dealing with our relationship to our family members are given for our own protection, for genetically all sorts of things happen when they are violated. And when the abomination of homosexuality is committed, there are health diseases and sickness that come to those individuals that take their lives. These laws though are not committing the unforgivable sin, for when a person comes to the understanding of the wicked perversion that he or she had committed, and by faith with a repenting heart, there is forgiveness at the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. The blood of Jesus Christ is sufficient to take away that sin before the throne of God, when that individual come to the Father in Jesus name. The name of Jesus Christ is the only name under heaven where there is complete forgiveness; but at the same time, when Jesus forgives you, you must learn to forgive yourself. Our Heavenly Father is a loving God, and Jesus has told us that He is there for us, when we call out to Him in Repentance.
