This Psalms 119 is an acrostic Psalms, and even the King James version calls attention to this with their Hebrew rubric letters prior to each verse. The Companion Bible marks well each segment of eight verses, of all the 22 letters [22 parts] of the Hebrew alphabet. The number eight [8] in Biblical numerics is new beginnings. This order marks the governmental perfection that is within this Psalm. At the close of this chapter, will be given the ten words from Psalms 119, that correspond to the ten commandments give by God to us through Moses. One of these ten words given in this chapter, are represented in each verse of this chapter, and these words are used over and over, to drill the prayers and faithfulness of our Lord to His children. Learn these ten words well, to understand their meaning.

The title of this chapter is "The quickening by the Written Word". "Quickening", means "made alive". This chapter will make the written Word come alive for you.

ALEPH

Psalms 119:1 "Blessed are the undefiled in the way, Who walk in the law of the Lord."

The first of the ten words is "way", and the second given is "law". The "way" is "derek" in the Hebrew text, and it means "to tred with one's feet". It denotes the act of walking, specifically that of journeying somewhere. "Derek" expects you to take the verse and act on what is written, and apply it to your life. Make it real to your living in everyday life.

"Law" is "torah" and from the Hebrew word "yarah", "to project, to show and point out something". It means to teach and instruct, for law is not something that does nothing, but instructs you and gives you a direction to follow. This is real, to instruct, whether it is in the ten commandments, or the signs along the road. It gives you spacific instructions for a certain time in your life.

So this verse says, "Blessed are those undefiled that have their feet set on course, following the laws of God as written within His holy Word".

Psalms 119:2 "Blessed are they that keep His testimonies, And that seek Him with the whole heart."

"Testimonies" is another of the ten words that we must learn, as applied to this chapter. The base root of "testimonies" in the Hebrew is "eduth" and it means "to turn back again, or to reiterate". It means to testify, and repeat the Word until it is completely understood. To make your studies with your whole heart.

Psalms 119:3 "They also do no iniquity: They walk in His ways."

Here again "Derek" comes to the surface; not to tread with your feet in an evil way, but to carefully control your steps with Almighty God.

Psalms 119:4 "Thou hast commanded us To keep Thy precepts diligently."

Have you wondered what a precept is? In the Hebrew tongue, "Precept" is "pikkudim", and from the root word "pakad", or "to take oversight or take charge; to enjoin others to the mandates given". In other words, the precept takes charge over those that will follow God's Word. It requires that the one studying, to understand the entire meaning of what is said on the subject of the verse or chapter. God has commanded you and those of His elect to take charge of those instructions He has given you through His Word. That includes you putting it in your mind, claiming the promises that are stated, and use the power that God is giving you through that Word.

Psalms 119:5 "O that my ways were directed To keep Thy statutes!"

"Statutes" come from the Hebrew word, "hok and hukka", meaning "to hew, cut in, engrave, and inscribe". Thus it mean that we are "to decree or ordain, by ordinance or decree." Do not take an "ordination" or calling as a light thing, for it as the ten commandments itself, cut in stone by God Himself.

Psalms 119:6 "Then shall I not be ashamed, When I have respect unto all Thy commandments."

"Commandments" as given here is "mizvah", and comes from the Hebrew word, "zavah", which means "to set up or constitute, constitutional commands". When the order of command goes out from the Father, we are to follow those commands, those of course are any and all set of instructions within His Word.

Psalms 119:7 "I will praise Thee with uprightness of heart, When I shall have learned Thy righteous judgments."

These words "righteous" and "Judgments" are from the Hebrew word, "Mishpah" or Shaphat, meaning "to set upright, or make erect. "Righteous, or upright" comes from "Zedek" or to be right. It is part of the word "Melchizedek", the name of Christ when Abraham met and offered a sacrifice to Him. "Melchi" meaning "king"; and "zedek" for the "upright or Just". I will praise Thee with an just mind, when I place His judgments in my mind. This means that there will be a change of mind, to where you know that you are not a second class citizen, and you will not allow others to treat you as such. Your a child of the king of this universe, and child of God, so we must act like it. If there is a wrong done, we must make it right.

Psalms 119:8 "I will keep Thy statutes: O forsake me not utterly."

Again we see "Statutes", and when you have those statutes of His Word engraved in your minds, and life, our Heavenly Father will never leave you. So we have seen eight of the ten words that correspond with each of the ten commandments of God. Those words are; Way, Law, Testimonies, Precepts, Statutes, Commandments [first five are spiritual, and the last five are civil], Righteous, and Judgment. The other two words will be covered in the next section, and all of these will be repeated over and over through this entire chapter.

BETH

Psalms 119:9 "Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed thereto according to Thy word."

This tells you exactly how to cleanse yourself and make yourself right. Again, the "way" or "darak" in the Hebrew is the path that your feet tread. It is the course that you have set for your life. You cleanse your life by paying attention to the instructions set for in the Word of God. "Word" as given here is one of the ten words we are studying in this chapter, and in the Hebrew it is "Dabar". "Dabar" means "to arrange in a row, or to set forth in speech." This means to take the word of God, set in an order, and put that order in speech. To cleanse your life, then, you have to follow the order that the Word of God instructs you; in your repentance, in your studying, and in the applying the word to your life.

Psalms 119:10 "With my whole heart have I sought Thee: O let me not wander from Thy commandments."

You seek our Heavenly Father with your entire mind: and here again, we set our mind to following the commandments of God. We live our lives according to the command-ments of God.

Psalms 119:11 "Thy word have I hid in mine heart, That I might not sin against Thee."

This is the tenth word, and it is "word". In the Hebrew text, "imrah, or `amar", and it means "to bring for to light". It is not the same as "dabar", which refers to an articulate utterance of what is said. Debar is different than imrah or `amar. Here "imrah" refers not to the speaking of what is in the Word of God, but that you understand it within your mind. You have absorbed the meaning of what is said, and it is clear what is required of you in living your life. It is not a matter of speaking the "word" to others, as in "dabar"; but making that portion of the Word of God clear within your mind. Once the Word of God is in your mind with understanding, not that you memorize it, it will be part of you the rest of your life.

Psalms 119:12 "Blessed art Thou, O Lord: Teach me Thy statutes."

This should be your desire, to learn the statutes of God. The statutes of God are in the Word of God, so the only way God can teach you through the Holy Spirit, is by your studying the Word of God. You have to make the effort to study yourself to learn. Use the proper tools in your studying, such as the Companion Bible, the Strong's Hebrew and Greek dictionaries, The Smith's bible dictionaries, and so on. Material that takes you back to the manuscripts and gives you the right meaning; as God passed His Word through His prophets and Apostles. Most people today would know if the spirit speaking to them was an evil spirit or the Holy Spirit, and that is why you must receive it direct from the Scriptures. When you understand the "imrah" from verse eleven, you see it is a matter of your understanding that Word of God in your own mind. God has written this letter, which is our Bible and He has written it to you personally. The time you spend in the Word will be well worth the effort you give.

Psalms 119:13 "With my lips have I declared All the judgments of Thy mouth."

God has declared His judgments within His Word, and He expects you to declare those judgments through your mouth to others. Before you declare them, there must be an understanding of them within your own mind.

Psalms 119:14 "I have rejoiced in the way of Thy testimonies, As much as in all riches."

Remember that "testimonies" in the Hebrew is to reiterate, to repeat and testify to others over and over again. Friend, there are no other riches that the priceless Word from our Heavenly Father. He is the only one that can give the give the gift of eternal life.

Psalms 119:15 "I will meditate in Thy precepts, And have respect unto Thy ways."

"Precepts" gives us the direction to take charge of those things in your life. The "way" is the order to get your feet moving in the direction that you ought to be going. So this verse is telling you to first think on what you are to do, and then get moving and do what you know you ought to be doing. You are in the many membered body of Christ, and as such each member has a duty to that body to give it life. If you fail to do your part, then the entire body suffers. In short, the message here to you is that you have a responsibility to all the other, so do it. God gives each of us gifts, some prayer, some money, some singing, and other teaching; What ever your gift, use it.

Psalms 119:16 "I will delight myself in Thy statutes: I will not forget Thy Word."

Then as you use those gifts for the body of Christ, be happy in your duties, that God has given you the gift that you have. Your reward will be just as great in the kingdom of heaven if you have but one gift, as those with many gifts, for it is what you do with the gift's that you have, that determines your rewards. God has singled you out for the gifts that you have, and we are to be grateful for being able to serve our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

GIMEL

Psalms 119:17 "Deal bountifully with Thy servant, That I may live, and keep Thy word."

In Proverbs 1:7; "The fear [reverence] of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction." When you absorb the wisdom from God's Word in your mind, and then you go out and start teaching what you know to be true from the Word, then the light will start shining in in the lives of others. Then God will bountifully bless you with all His blessings.

Psalms 119:18 "Open Thou mine eyes, that I may behold Wondrous things out of Thy law."

It our Holy Spirit that will open your eyes to see the in-depth meaning of God's Word. There are wondrous things recorded in God Word, and they will be open to those with spiritual eyes to see. Behold the wondrous things that are offered to you that the money of men just can not buy. Peace of mind, and the protection that He offers to those with their spiritual eyes open and following in the way of the Lord.

Psalms 119:19 "I am a stranger in the earth: Hide not Thy commandments from me."

This is telling us from the Hebrew text that I am a foreigner here in this earth age, guide me through this time by Thy commandments. Jesus spoke of this in John 17, where He said, "I am not of this world, neither are they of this world. However they are in this world; "I have given them Thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world." verse 14

John 17:15 "I pray not that Thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that Thou shouldest keep them from the evil [one]." Jesus wanted you to be blessed while you live and do His service in this earth age of flesh man. We are to take that light and share it with those around us. As one of the election of God, you have work to do while you are living in your flesh body, in this earth age.

Psalms 119:20 "My soul breaketh for the longing That it hath unto Thy judgments at all times."

Of course you can't remember how things were in that first earth age, for it has been removed from our memory. Sure we have the bones from that age of animals, but as for men, we were in our soul bodies as the angels have. Souls of Christians living in the flesh are breaking to have our Lord Jesus Christ return to this earth, and for us to reside in his Millennium kingdom. Our souls are breaking and longing for that time when Satan will be in the pit and out of our lives. Though this is talking about a time in the future, we must study to prepare ourselves for the time we are living in today. Strengthen yourself to where you can be used and worth something to Him.

Psalms 119:21 "Thou hast rebuked the proud that are cursed, Which do err from Thy commandments."

He will rebuke the proud that try to do it all their own way, and reject the ways of our Father.

Psalms 119:22 "Remove from me reproach and contempt; For I have kept Thy testimonies."

Have you kept the testimonies? To keep the testimonies is to say it over and over to other. To be faithful in planting the seeds of truth in the minds of other. Have you studied His word over and over to where it is engraved in your mind.

Psalms 119:23 "Princes also did sit and speak against me: But Thy servant did meditate in Thy statutes."

People in high places sat and spoke evil of me, but it didn't bother me as I sat meditating in Thy statutes. Remember "statutes" are the instructions that are to be engraved into your mind, to where they are part of your everyday life. This is telling you not to just read over a statute, but think about it over and over, and meditate all day long over it to where it is present even when you aren't trying to think on that statute. You are never to old to study God's Word.

Psalms 119:24 "Thy testimonies also are my delight And my counsellors."

The finest counselor in the universe is our Father. His advise is given to us in His testimonies of His Word. God gives his testimony through the prophets and apostles as they wrote down those instruction to you. He even testifies through His teachers that are in tune with His Word. When God testified through the prophets, He gave that advise through them for your sake, and mine.

DALETH

Psalms 119:25 "My soul cleaveth unto the dust: Quicken Thou me according to Thy word."

This eight verse section is a prayer for restoration. My soul lies a sleep in this flesh body, of the dust of the earth: make me alive according to the promises of thy Word.

Your body came from the dust of the earth, and as you grew, you ate the elements of the dust of the earth. Your soul lives in that clay body, as long as you are living in this age of flesh man.

Psalms 119:26 "I have declared my ways, and Thou heardest me: Teach me Thy statutes."

When you declare your ways, it is done through repentance. This soul is crying out for the knowledge that comes only from the Word of God. With that knowledge come the love and God and peace of mine within your soul.

Psalms 119:27 "Make me to understand the way of Thy precepts: So shall I talk of Thy wondrous works."

The point here is first to study the way of God precepts, and then meditate and observe how God is working in your life, and the world around you. The way as how you live tred your feet and walk your life, are they according to God's precepts, or instruction to take charge. Use those precepts and use them to do somebody some good for their life.

Psalms 119:28 "My soul melteth for heaviness: Strengthen Thou me according unto Thy word."

My soul weepeth and is heavy for God's Word, and in His Word He has promised you that He would give strength. He is asking you to petition Him for that strength.

Psalms 119:29 "Remove from me the way of lying: And grant me Thy law graciously."

Unfortunately today there are many lies that have slipped in, and been passed of as the Word of God, when they are nothing more than man's traditions. The set of dos and don'ts that are given today as the laws of God, are nothing more than a church trying to gain and keep control over it's congregation. Be very careful, especially in this generation, for we do not play at church, for God's truth is real. Christianity is a reality, not a religion that can be played with. Our Heavenly Father is looking for worthy servants. It take an understanding of the Word before you can gain experience in passing that Word on to others.

Psalms 119:30 "I have chosen the way of truth: Thy judgments have I laid before me."

The "way of truth" is what is written in the Word of God. It is what was written in the manuscripts by the prophets, giving us instructions from God. Sure, study with a man to help you find the truth, but document what he says from the Word of God, and the tools that help us go back into the manuscripts. This is how you learn, for you put His judgments before you, and study them.

Psalms 119:31 "I have stuck unto thy testimonies: O Lord, put me not to shame."

When you stay with the "testimonies" of the Lord, you will never be put to shame.

Psalms 119:32 "I will run the way of Thy commandments, When Thou shalt enlarge my heart."

You are not going to walk, but your feet are going to run the way of the lord. Be anxious to follow and fulfill the commandments that God has given to us. This verse shows that you are always ready for action in the service of the Lord. Learn the way of the Lord and have your mind filled with His truth and then run. this is going to take some studying on your part. These prior eight verses of "Daleth" was a prayer for preservation; to preserve your soul in God.

HE

Psalms 119:33 "Teach me, O Lord, the way of Thy statutes; And I shall keep it unto the end."

This "He" is pronounced in the Hebrew as "hay". This prayer is for teaching the Word and the way of God. Show me, and make me see Thy way through Thy statutes. Remember that "statutes" are charges of truth engraved or inscribed in our minds to do something in fulfilling a mission. God spoke the Word, and it became the living Word. We are to study the Word first, and then do it.

Psalms 119:34 "Give me understanding, and I shall keep Thy law; Yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart."

This is a prayer for teaching, but there must be understanding of the Word before it can be taught. The Law here again is one of the ten words of this chapter. If God will give me the gift of understanding of your law, then I will teach it to others. If you have the eyes to see and the ears to hear with understanding, God expects you to teach other of those truths.

Psalms 119:35 "Make me to go in the path of Thy commandments; For therein do I delight."

Your only happiness will be in following the commandments of the Lord. This is saying, make me to go that way, and therein will I delight. However if you pray this prayer, and get out of the way, expect God to make a correction in your life.

Psalms 119:36 "Incline my heart unto Thy testimonies, and not to covetous-ness."

Focus my mind to Thy "testimonies", and not to covetousness. Let me think on your word over and over, rather than thinking on my problems.

Psalms 119:37 "Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity: And quicken Thou me in Thy way."

Turn my eyes away from the emptiness of the things of this world, and make me alive to the things of Your Way. The "way" as given here is "darak" and it means to keep your feet moving in the right direction. As long as your eyes are focused on the vanity and emptiness this world is offering, you will not be quickened. Man's thoughts and desires are empty compared to our Father's.

Psalms 119:38 "Stablish Thy word unto Thy servant, Who is devoted to Thy fear."

When you establish or fix your mind to the Word of God, it leads you to reverence our Heavenly Father. Then there is a kinship and love that is bonded between you and Him. That kinship is fixed in your mind. You become a family member, and can come to demand the promises that are promised to you through His Word, as a son and daughter to the heavenly Father.

Psalms 119:39 "Turn away my reproach with I fear: For Thy judgments are good."

Turn away my reproach which I dread: for God's judgments are good. All of God's judgments are good, and in fulfilling all of His Word. When it appears that God made a mistake, stop and check yourself, for it is you that failed to see something. For all of God's judgments are good. If you are on the short end of those judgments then God is making a correction in your life.

Psalms 119:40 "Behold, I have longed after Thy precepts: Quicken me in Thy righteousness."

Those precepts that were etched in the stone, may they be etched in my mind also to bring me alive to do righteousness. If you are one of the Zedek, the chosen then God's Word will be alive in your mind. These prior eight verses were our pray for setting our minds for teaching the Word of God.

VAU

Psalms 119:41 "Let Thy mercies come also unto me, O Lord, Even Thy salvation, according to Thy word."

Let God's loving kindness come to you in this manner, as you pray for strength. These next eight verses direct your mind to strengthen it, according to the promises within His Word.

Psalms 119:42 "So shall I have wherewith to answer him that reproacheth me: For I trust in Thy word."

This is telling you that if you have the truth of God's Word with understanding in your mind, then when somebody asks you a question about the Word, you have documentation to stand on. You have a solid foundation for your spiritual beliefs. It is because you have learned to trust in Thy word. This gives you strength and direction for your daily life.

Psalms 119:43 "And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth: For I have hoped in Thy judgments."

Faith is hope for something unseen, but your faith and hope is in His decrees and judgments. That you can see, for you see how our Father is working in your everyday life. Don't ever doubt those words and promises.

Psalms 119:44 "So shall I keep Thy law continually For ever and ever."

The "law" is one of the ten parts or words to this chapter. These ten words of course correspond to the ten commandments that are part of our lives. "Law" again means "torah", which is "to project, to point out, to show" and then "to teach and instruct" the commandments of our Lord's Word.

Psalms 119:45 "And I will walk at liberty: For I seek Thy precepts."

We are to study line upon line and precept upon precept, building the foundation of understanding within our minds. We are not to follow the precepts of men, but walk in the precepts of God. Jesus told us this same thing in John 8:31, 32: "Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on Him, "If ye continue in My word, then are ye My disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

The truth of God's holy Word will set you at liberty, for you will walk in the ways of His precepts and commandments. As you study His Word and get deeper in instruction of the Word, you become free from the tradition of men. Stay away from the bondage of fear that many would place you under, for in Christ you are free from them.

Psalms 119:46 "I will speak of Thy testimonies also before kings, And will not be ashamed."

We are to become skilled in the Word, so that we can move actively in this world, not ashamed of what any would say of our actions or speech.

Psalms 119:47 "And I will delight myself in Thy commandments, Which I have loved."

The "commandments" as given in the Hebrew text is "the Word I loved". The "commandments" are the contract between you and God, as you live your life in this age of flesh man. It is the guidelines for each soul that is living our lives in these flesh bodies. Do you love the commandments, for they are given so that you can be happy every day of your life, and get along with those around you. The only peace of mind that you will find, is when you grow to delight in His commandments.

Psalms 119:48 "My hands also will I lift up unto Thy commandments, which I have loved; And I will meditate in Thy statutes."

This again is a prayer to strengthen your life, and by lifting of the hands is making a vow to our Heavenly Father, a commitment to keep His commandments. This is a figure of speech saying I vow to meditate continually in Thy statutes, and walk swiftly in the commandments of Thy Word. I will swear to your commandments which I love and will meditate on them. this again is a prayer for strength in your life.

ZAIN

Psalms 119:49 "Remember the word unto Thy servant, Upon which Thou hast caused me to hope."

the title of this next set of eight verses is "comfort and remembrance." As you go through the hardships of this live, God was there all the time waiting to help you, if you would just remember to call out to Him. He was there to comfort your soul. The problem is that many times when we need to remember to call on Him, we forget and slip, and try to depend on our own ways. So this is saying that remember me in those times of trouble, for your Word has caused my believing [hope]. The qualification is your believing, and calling out, and not just a blind hope. God deals in reality, and natural things, and asking for help when it is needed is the real solution. Don't assume help, that is not asked for.

Psalms 119:50 "This is my comfort in my affliction: For Thy word hath quickened me."

When you were dead in your trespasses and sins, it was His Word that quickened you and made you come alive. The more you read His word and study it, getting deep into the meanings of the words, the more comfort it will give you in your time of affliction. Study the Word chapter by Chapter and verse by verse, in order as it is laid out in the Scriptures. When you pick a book, go through the entire book, and build a foundation that will grow as you go into other books. Those promises that are given, mark them will for in times of affliction, you can call on the Lord, and He will keep those promises to you.

Psalms 119:51 "The proud have had me greatly in derision: Yet have I not declined from Thy law."

The proud is the "insolent", those that have set their own way, and they will confuse you if you let them. When you set your mind to staying within the law of God, those insolent people will have no sway over your mind.

Psalms 119:52 "I remember Thy judgments of old, O Lord; And have comforted myself."

When you take a look at how God protected and kept His Word throughout the bible, we can take comfort in the work and protection that He gives us in our lives. To be sure of our Father, look at His record. He has never failed His children.

Psalms 119:53 "Horror hath taken hold upon me Because of the wicked that forsake Thy law."

Righteous indignation and anger comes into my mind, when I observe the wicked breaking God's laws. There is nothing wrong with showing righteous indignation when it is called for. Certain humanist have said that if you debate and raise your voice you lose the argument. That is nonsense, for they speak of their wickedness, and expect you to stand by and take it, when it clearly goes against God's laws. They would like to enslave your mind and your family in their dogma but a true man of God will not allow it. When it is required, a true man and woman of God will make a stand and draw the line that will not be crossed. We are the children of the Living God, and it is Godly to make a stand on things of His Word.

Psalms 119:54 "Thy statutes have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage."

As you go through your daily life, learn the songs that are from His Word, and sing them. Put those statutes on frames and mount them on your walls to reminds you to those promises God has made to you. We are pilgrims in this world but we are not of this world.

Psalms 119:55 "I have remembered Thy name, O Lord, in the night, And have kept Thy law."

Do you know the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, of our Heavenly Father? "Yashuah the Messiah, and YHVH, our Heavenly Father. When you wake up in the night, do you think of our Heavenly Father, and the things of the law? Those things are comforting, and will soothe you right to sleep.

Psalms 119:56 "This I had, Because I kept Thy precepts."

This comfort I had because I kept Thy precepts. When you wake in the night, you go back to that meditation of God's precepts, his mandates and charges that He has given you in His Word. Those thoughts are comforting.

CHETH

Psalms 119:57 "Thou art my portion, O Lord: I have said that I would keep Thy words."

This section of eight verses is titled "Prayer and profession". In the Hebrew text it reads, I have said, "Jehovah is my portion, that I might keep Thy word." "Word" as used in this verse is "debar", to arrange the word in a row, in order that it may be spoken.

Psalms 119:58 "I intreated Thy favour with my whole heart: Be merciful unto me according to Thy word."

However "word" as used in this verse is from "`imrah", to bring the light of God's word on the subject. The promises are there in the word, and with my whole heart I will seek them out for myself. You bring it to light for the purpose of claiming it for yourself. So this is saying, when you pray, claim those promises for yourself. You have to know them before you can claim them.

Psalms 119:59 "I thought on my ways, And turned my feet unto Thy testimonies."

Have you sat down to think which way the course of your life is going? If your life is heading in a direction against the testimonies of His Word, are you willing to change that course, turn your feet to another direction? After all these statements of how this author had learned, prayed and praised the Lord God, yet he had to stop and turn his ways after thinking and meditation on his own life, and the testimonies that he was giving to other.

Psalms 119:60 "I made haste, and delayed not To keep Thy commandments."

When you are off the path, you had better make hast to get back on the right path. When you have been deceived by someone, don't stay heading in the wrong direction.

Psalms 119:61 "The bands of the wicked have robbed me: But I have not forgotten Thy law."

No matter where you go these days, you will be surrounded by those that don't know the truth, and would have you heading in the same direction they are heading. It doesn't matter what they do, you know the law, and you keep that law.

Psalms 119:62 "At midnight I will rise to give thanks unto Thee because of Thy righteous judgments."

At midnight when you wake up, don't lay their and turn, but get up and turn to the Word of God. It will comfort your soul and give you peace of mind. Then when you go back to bed you will go right to sleep. You make your plan fit God's plan, but don't try to make God's plan fit yours.

Psalms 119:63 "I am a companion of all them that fear Thee, And of them that keep Thy precepts."

I keep my life surrounded by those that revere God and keep His precepts. In other words this is saying that every one that keeps these precepts are all of one group. That group is the election of Christ. It is those of God's children that have the spiritual ears to hear with understanding.

Psalms 119:64 "The earth, O Lord, is full of Thy mercy: Teach me Thy statutes."

This earth is full of God's love and mercy, if you will just take that love extended to you. Though it says teach me Thy statutes; it is for you to study the Word and seek the truths with the proper study tools. God will not dump it on any one, but when you seek the truth, He will help you find it. Notice that this man first prayed for understanding, and then came the precepts. After the understanding is there, then the precepts, the law, the commandments and all the other parts come into focus. God does everything in a natural order, and before you can go out to be a successful witness for Christ, you need to know what you are witnessing about, and that takes study. You study first, then you take your testimonies out of the precepts, laws and commandments that you have learned, and then God blesses you for your work. The pay comes after the work. Prosperity teaching is a lie: You do the work and then God will bless you greatly.

TETH

Psalms 119:65 "Thou hast dealt well with Thy servant, O Lord, according unto Thy word."

As we have seen in the prior verses, Psalms 119 teaches us how to conduct ourselves whereby we can obtain patience. In this next set of eight verses of "Teth", the subject for these verses is "Prayer for Jehovah's dealings". This psalms is directed to put discipline in your life, and this verse will be true with any person, in any location and at any time. God will deal well with you at all times, and that goes especially after He has come down hard on you in a matter of correction. If you had it coming then you got exactly what you well deserved. He has dealt correctly with you, because His Word promised you that this correction would come when you got off the right path or way. Don't forget to thank Him for the corrections that He sent your way.

Psalms 119:66 "Teach me good judgment and knowledge: For I have believed Thy commandments."

You learn good judgment and knowledge by studying His Word, and following the instructions given there. If you don't have good judgment or the ability to keep yourself upright, then you also won't have any knowledge. Knowledge gives you the skill to use good judgment. Pray for both knowledge and good judgment. When you believe in God's commandments, and use good common sense, you will know within yourself that they are true.

Psalms 119:67 "Before I was afflicted I went astray: But now have I kept Thy word."

This is the exact way that it works. You go astray first, and after you have left the way or path that His Word instructs, then God will afflict you with His correction. After the affliction comes, you see the light and get back on the way your feet should be heading. Remember the "way" in the Hebrew is "derek" and it is the path that your feet walk in. It requires action on your part, and that path leads you in the direction that you that you are given by His Word. Expect to be afflicted when you stray off that way.

Psalms 119:68 "Thou art good, and doest good; Teach me Thy statutes."

This is the second time under "Teth" that this man has asked God to teach him Thy statutes. When you pray for patients and that God will open your mind to His statutes, the Holy Spirit will teach you from His Word. God's Spirit will give you understanding of that part of His Word that is actually engraved in stone and ordained by God.

Psalms 119:69 "The proud have forged a lie against me: But I will keep Thy precepts with my whole heart."

The proud have tried to lie about me and give me a bad name. Even with these evil things being said about me, I will keep my whole mind set on the precepts of God's Word. When you always try to please God, then it doesn't matter what men say about you. The lies men say about you will come to light in due time. When you please God, God's children will be pleased also, and you will never please the wicked and those lying about you any way. Those that "lie against me" are children of darkness and you are a child of the light, and darkness cannot exist in the light. When someone calling himself a Christian tries to blacken your name when you are following in God's path, that person is not a child of light but of darkness. Know that person for what he or she is and don't let it throw you.

Psalms 119:70 "Their heart is as fat as grease; But I delight in Thy law."

The blood that flows through their mind is as think as grease, for there is no thought activity coming from it. They don't use their minds to think for their mind just doesn't work well. It just doesn't matter what those people say, for when I delight in God's law and stay in His Word and try to follow its instructions I will have peace of mind and be content.

Psalms 119:71 "It is good for me that I have been afflicted; That I might learn Thy statutes."

There are times when affliction is good for you, for it tests you and shows that our Heavenly Father loves you. When you are a Christian and God punishes you; you know something is wrong so correct it. This you set your mind back on the path of God's statutes, and get your feet moving in the right direction. Our Heavenly Father is no a respecter of persons, and God has placed within you certain gifts for the sake of the body of Christ. God's elect are a part of that body of Christ, and each of them are here on earth to bring others to the truth of the light, and direct them to the blood shed on the cross, and to salvation.

Psalms 119:72 "The law of Thy mouth is better unto me than thousands of gold and silver."

The law of God means more to me than any amount of gold and silver. You can have all the gold in the world, and not have understanding of God's Word. However when God blesses you and gives you wealth, don't apologize for that blessing He has given you. Use it wisely, for it is a gift of God to you. Your gold and silver are to be used in this life, but your works for Father, what you do with the gifts that Father gives you will follow you into the eternity.

JOD

Psalms 119:73 "Thy hands have made me and fashioned me: Give me understanding, that I may learn Thy commandments."

The subject of the eight verses under "JOD" is "Prayer for instruction and deliverance." The "J" in the Jod, should be a "Y", giving "YOD". This was done by the translators, because of being afraid of saying the sacred name in error.

It is our Heavenly Father that has made you [created you] and fashioned you into the soul and body that you have. This prayer asks of the Father; you made me as I am, now give me the understanding to learn Your commandments. Just because Father created the bodies that we have, doesn't mean God gave each body understanding. You have to take the time to pray, study, and seek the truth for yourself. God simply can't use you in His work, when you are not willing to spend the time to prepare yourself for His Work. If you are lazy you become of no value to the service of our Lord.

Psalms 119:74 "They that fear Thee will be glad when they see me; Because I have hoped in Thy word."

All those children of God that give reverence to Almighty God will be glad me when they see me. Why? Because we are of the same body or family of Christ, and our interest are common in the hope given the Word of God. Our brothers and sisters in Christ can communicate with you on a level that we both understand. Hope is a form of faith that comes through the Word. You know God and His feelings and emotions, for you come to a personal relationship by seeing his words and actions said through His Word. Sight unseen you grow to trust in Him, and that is called "faith".

Psalms 119:75 "I know, O Lord, that Thy judgments are right, And that Thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me."

As you grow in the Word, you have no doubt that God's judgments are right. God has shown us over and over that He is faithful to His Word. When God afflicts you, He punishes you. Here David is thanking God for His faithfulness in punishing him. By God punishing the one that loves Him, it shows that God believes that you are worthy to be His child. You punish your own children, not the neighbors, and your punishment is always given in love for your child. It is a form of protection of the child, and most of the time the thanks doesn't come from the child during the punishment, but when you look back and reflect on it in maturity. God has faith in you that you will overcome the enemy which is Satan.

Psalms 119:76 "Let, I pray Thee, Thy merciful kindness be for my comfort, According to Thy word unto Thy servant."

God's loving kindness is always for your comfort. This is God's promise to you as His child. Though affliction does come from time to time, God always shows His love to those that love Him.

Psalms 119:77 "Let Thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may live: For Thy law is my delight."

When you live your life in the law of His Word, following His instructions, God's mercies will come your way. That brings peace and happiness. Our Father is to be reverenced and loved, for He gives His love to you and I. Have you told our Heavenly Father that you love Him lately? He blesses you when you do.

Psalms 119:78 "Let the proud be ashamed; for they dealt perversely with me without a cause: But I will meditate in Thy precepts."

When you are meditating in Father Word, even though people deal wrongly with you, you know that God will make it right. God is the one that takes vengeance on those that mess around with His children. This is a promise from God to you, He is the one that settles all accounts between you and your enemies. Again in Romans 12:19:

"Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath; for it is written, "Vengeance is Mine; I will repay, saith the Lord."

Romans 12:20, 21 "Therefore If thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good."

When you are in the Word, you have the promise and instruction as to what you are to do with those that intend to harm you in some way.

Psalms 119:79 "Let those that fear Thee turn unto me, And those that have known Thy testimonies."

This is telling us; let us all learn together to revere and respect God and His Word. Let us grow and mature together, and help each other that are within the many membered body of Christ. As we grow, there will be a desire to seek more and more of the truths from God's Word. Any thought that the Holy Spirit quickens and puts in one's mind, should be offered freely to all Christians, to the entire body of Christ.

Psalms 119:80 "Let my heart be sound in Thy statutes; That I be not ashamed."

Be sound in your understanding of the degrees and ordinances of God's Word, and you will never be ashamed of what you tell other. However, again, it take time to study those ways with the proper study tools of the Bible.

CAPH

Psalms 119:81 "My soul fainteth for Thy salvation: But I hope in Thy word."

These next eight verses are a "prayer in Distress". Have you ever been under great distress and wondered what to pray for? This is saying that when my soul fails and seeks salvation, for guidance, my faith is in Thy Word. I have faith that God will instruct me through His Word. In those time that you don't know what to do or say, pick up your bible and allow God's Word to give you your direction.

Psalms 119:82 "Mine eyes fail for Thy word, Saying, "When wilt Thou comfort me?" "

This is saying that when you have a lack of patience, sit back and allow God to work out the problems in your life. Take comfort in His Word, that God will go before you and work things out in His way.

Psalms 119:83 "For I am become like a bottle in the smoke; Yet do I not forget Thy statutes."

The bottle spoken of here is a leather wine bottle, and when it has been in a fire, filled with soot and smoke; that doesn't give much hope for the way you view your life. This is saying that when nothing is going your way, and you have messed up completely, that is the time to remember the statutes of God's Word. Remember those promises that God gave to you personally, for they are yours just for such a time.

Psalms 119:84 "How many are the days of Thy servant: When wilt Thou execute judgment on them that persecute me?"

It is not for you to know the how and when that God will execute His judgment on your enemies, but only that He will. God is going to make all things right, everything that is done in evil and hate will be made right by your heavenly Father. It is written, as we saw prior, from Romans 12:19-21, you can count on it. When you get down and think the world is after you, go to this eight verse segment and read this prayer for yourself.

Psalms 119:85 "The proud have digged pits for me, Which are not after Thy law."

This is telling God that you know your trouble are not from Him, but the devil and his children have dug holes that I can't get out of. Have you fallen for the traps of getting into credit card debt, or any other trap of Satan's realm, take it to our Father and see what the law of God has to say about it. If you want to fall into Satan's pits, God will let you. If you want to be that old burned out wine skin, God will allow that. Just keep going as long as you want to, and you will go deeper and deeper into those holes Satan is preparing for you. However in time you will see the light, get back into the statutes of God's Word and set your feet back on God's path. The proud are the Kenites, Satan's kids, and they have all sorts of goodies for you, if you are weak enough to take them. Satan uses his kids to get into your way, and they find pleasure making things rough on you.

Psalms 119:86 "All Thy commandments are faithful: They persecute me wrongfully; Help Thou me."

Just as sure as you can count of Satan laying traps for you; you can be equally sure that God's commandments are faithful to you. After you have fallen into Satan and the Kenite's trap, never be to ashamed to ask Father to help to get you out of that trap, and stay out. You have to ask God for help first, and then He will fulfill His promise to you. You must be willing to crawl out of that pit first, and then the help is there. What you got into, you can get out of but you have to make the effort.

Psalms 119:87 "They had almost consumed me upon earth; But I forsook not Thy precepts."

Even when things look dark and impossible to get through, keep God's precepts in your mind, and stay faithful to our heavenly Father.

Psalms 119:88 "Quicken me after Thy lovingkindness; So shall I keep the testimony of Thy muth."

Make me alive through Thy loving kindness: Father is the only one that can do that. It is so very important that you keep the Word of the Living God fresh in your mind.

LAMED

Psalms 119:89 "For ever, O Lord, Thy word is settled in heaven."

The Psalms are very important for through them we see that we can learn from the mistakes of other. The Psalms points out where the trouble spots in life are, and we can learn where they are and stay away from them. We discipline our self with our Father's Word "`imrah". God's Word is the same today as it was, yesterday, in the beginning of this age, and as it was back in that first earth age.

Satan's political system will be the same in this earth age, as he had in that first earth age as recorded in Revelation 12:1-6. One thing is true about God's children, they like to fall into the same traps over and over. If you go out and dig a hole in the ground, and walk by that hole every day, you should remember where you dug that hole. However we seem to fall into that same hole every time we pass by. God has given us His Word to guide us so that when we fall into those traps in out lives, we should be able to work spiritually around that problem. There is nothing new under the sun, so learn from other people's mistakes.

There is a two fold meaning in this verse, Our Father's Word is for ever settled in Heaven. Not only is the Word of God preset according to his eternal plan, but the order of things; the positioning of the stars and planets. The bible is written in the stars.

Genesis 1:14 "And God said, "Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years."

This earth age of flesh man is going to pass away, but our Father's Word will never end.

Psalms 119:90 "Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: Thou hast established the earth, and it abideth."

The promises that God has given in and through His word is to all generation, from Moses to this end generation. When God says something, it is settled in Heaven. This old earth is still as it was set millions of years ago, when God created it. He established it to be good and for man to abide and live on it. Sure, after the fall of Satan, when one third of the angels follow him, God shook this earth, and all life forms of flesh ended, however man was not in flesh form then, but as the angels are. Jeremiah 4 tells us of those times in the first earth age when the rebellion took place, and that was an example of how it shall be again at the end of this earth age of flesh man. He has warned us of these times ahead in His Word.

Psalms 119:91 "They continue this day according to Thine ordinances: For all are Thy servants."

This verse addresses the stars in the heavens specifically, for "They" are the heaven and the earth that follow the ordinances that God laid down for them. God sets the orbits, and created the laws and forces that be and do what they are intended to do. Our Heavenly Father is in control of all the universe, and He has the power to protect you in your everyday life.

Psalms 119:92 "Unless Thy law had been my delights, I should then have perished in my affliction."

If I didn't have God's laws, His statutes and ordinances; I would have died in my affliction. God is our strength when we are down and out. God has many saws, and the law of gravity is one of them. He controls things naturally by and through His Laws.

Psalms 119:93 "I will never forget Thy precepts: For with them Thou hast quickened me."

God has made me alive through His precepts. It doesn't matter what comes into my life, He sees me through those rough times.

Psalms 119:94 "I am Thine, save me; For I have sought Thy precepts."

If you seek God's precepts, God will give them to you. However it will take an effort on your part in studying His Word. God will teach them to you if you will ask, for then His Spirit will open the door of your mind. When the light of His Word shine in your mind, His truth will set you free.

Psalms 119:95 "The wicked have waited for me to destroy me: But I will consider Thy testimonies."

Even with the wick all around me, I will continue thinking on those precepts, and give testimony along the way.

Psalms 119:96 "I have seen an end of all perfection: But Thy commandment is exceeding broad."

The way that our heavenly Father has established through His word is perfect. See that you stay in that way.

MEM

Psalms 119:97 "O how love I Thy law! It is my meditation all the day long."

The title of this next eight verses is "Jehovah's Word, the Source of wisdom". Our Father's Word, the law, is the source of all wisdom. There isn't a problem in our life that our heavenly Father has not already faced. His Word instructs us how we are to handle those problems, and how to deal with those around us. His Word tells you how to avoid the holes people put in your way to trap you.

Psalms 119:98 "Thou through Thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: For they are ever with me."

Mine enemy is the serpent, Satan, and those that are the children of darkness. We are to be wiser than the serpent, yet peaceful as the dove. The Lord's commandments allow us to do that, for it teaches us common sense.

Psalms 119:99 "I have more understanding than all my teachers: For Thy testimonies are my meditation."

Though this sounds like it is contradicting itself, for how can you be wiser than the one teaching you? What this is saying is that I have more wisdom than my earthly teachers, because of the divine wisdom given me by God. Those of the elect, the ones with spiritual eyes to see and ears to hear with understanding have this wisdom.

Psalms 119:100 "I understand more than the ancients, Because I keep thy precepts."

If the Lord opens your spiritual eyes to understanding, you even know more than the elders do. To keep these precepts, you first must understand what they are and how they apply to your life. You get that understanding only by studying them. Many people can read right over verses, and never get the meat of the subject out of what they read.

Psalms 119:101 "I have refrained my feet from every evil way, That I might keep Thy word."

Remember that the way is to have your feet in action. I have refrained to keep my feet from every evil way, so that I might keep God's Word. That is why you stay out of trouble and God blesses you.

Psalms 119:102 "I have not departed from Thy judgments: for Thou hast taught me."

The reason that you have stayed in the path of God's judgments, is because God has taught you how to avoid those evil ways. It isn't your teacher that taught you, no, God's Spirit opened your mind so that the truths of His Word could be understood by you. Your knowledge came to you by divine intervention. Remember that all wisdom comes from God's holy Word. However you must first ask for that wisdom, and be willing to search it out in the Scriptures, His precepts. You do the work and the Holy Spirit will then open the door and allow the truth to come into your mind.

Psalms 119:103 "How sweet are Thy words unto my taste! Yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!

The truth from God's word entering into your mind, and allowing you to meditate on it, is the sweetest thing that can enter into you.

Psalms 119:104 "Through Thy precepts I get understanding: Therefore I hate every false way."

Once you have the understanding of the precepts of God's Word, you will hate every false way. You will turn away from those traditions of men that go against the Word of God, and those false doctrines that are just not in the Word of God. Any thing that is a lie and contrary to Father's Word will make fools out of those that fall for those false doctrines. Yet many run to them with arms open, thinking that they are so religious.

NUN

Psalms 119:105 "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."

The title to this segment of verses of "NUN" is, "Jehovah's Word the source of light and joy." It is your feet that take you through this earth age of flesh man. It is your feet that allows you to step over those pit holes in the path that lies before you. The path that those feet find direction is from God's Word. The Word of God is not only the path, but is lights the way for your to follow. It not only allows you to see how to live your life, but it allows you to understand the current events that are going on around you. Our Father's Word does that for you.

Psalms 119:106 "I have sworn, and I will perform it, That I will keep Thy righteous judgments."

It takes discipline in your life to keep Thy righteous judgments. You can swear to anything you want, but if there is no discipline to how you live your life, how can you be of service to Him? You must first read and understand that word before you can swear to that word, and if you swear to the word, you must perform it in your life.

Psalms 119:107 "I am afflicted very much: Quicken me, O Lord, according unto Thy word."

Again the "word" used in these eight verses is "dabar"; number # 1697 in Strong's Concordance. It means "to arrange to speak, or subdue something, to give an answer to", but you must first understand what is to be said before you can speak on the subject. We are talking about speaking according to what is in "Thy Word", and asking God to "quicken me", to make me alive to those truths. When you speak, if you know what you are talking about, people will listen. When you are very much oppressed, then this is asking God to strengthen you through His Word. When you are down, take a hold of a promise that God has given you in His Word, and claim it for yourself. Father loves you and He will teach you.

Psalms 119:108 "Accept, I beseech Thee, the freewill offerings of my mouth, O Lord, And teach me Thy judgments."

God doesn't want your burnt offerings, but He wants your freewill offering of your love. Have you told Father that you love Him lately? Let you freewill offerings be praises to Him in your love for Him. He has created this universe with all its planets and stars, and yet He still has time to care about you and your problems. Our Father deserves your love. He cares, but you have to claim and act upon those promises.

Psalms 119:109 "My soul is continually in my hand: Yet do I not forget Thy law."

Every day we face the problems of our everyday life, but yet I do not forget the instructions of my Father Word, His law and precepts.

Psalms 119:110 "The wicked have laid a snare for me: Yet I erred not from Thy precepts."

You simply can not go wrong following God's Word.

Psalms 119:111 "Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever: For they are the rejoicing of my heart."

God is our Father and you are His child, and when you are in Him, He gives you an heritage for ever. Father has told you of the heritage in His Word, but you must first claim it. A will testimony is no good unless it is accepted by the one receiving the inheritance. You claim it and He will give it to you.

Psalms 119:112 "I have inclined mine heart to perform Thy statutes alway, Even unto the end."

It doesn't matter what kind of affliction you get into, keep the statutes of God's Word in your mind and try to follow those ways. For ever Thy Word is settled in heaven. If God spoke it, it is eternal. A promise is a promise but you must first claim it for yourself.

SAMECH

Psalms 119:113 "I hate vain thoughts: But Thy law do I love."

this set of eight verses is titled "Jehovah's Law. the security given by it." There is nothing wrong hating lies and wickedness, and empty thoughts that are taught in church house. The important thing is that we stick to our Father's Word and follow the instruction it gives us.

Psalms 119:114 "Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word."

Once you have faith the Word stored in your heart and mind, you don't need anything else. When He is our protector, we have our safe hiding place.

Psalms 119:115 "Depart from me, ye evildoers: For I will keep the commandments of my God."

That is God's instruction to you, your hope through prayer that the evil ones depart from you when you boldly stand up and declare, "I live by the Word of God."

Psalms 119:116 "Uphold me according unto Thy word, that I may live: And let me not be ashamed of my hope."

There is no shame in the boldness that allows a man or woman that serves Him, to teach this law boldly to all that will listen. The law has not been destroyed, nor will it ever be, for it is eternal.

Psalms 119:117 "Hold Thou me up, and I shall be safe: And I will have respect unto Thy statutes continually."

This person is asking if God will pick him up, and you must ask also for the Father to "Hold Thou me up, that I shall be safe." There is nothing wrong with you asking God to carry you for a moment when things are going rough, but you have to ask. Ask with a repenting heart, expecting to receive. Claim the promise from the Word, the covenant that He has made with you.

Psalms 119:118 "Thou hast trodden down all them that err from Thy statutes: For their deceit is falsehood."

If you don't listen, God is going to trod you down, pay attention to his statutes or He will see to it that you don't make it. Deceit and falsehood is what has led the church into the confusion that it is in today. It's time to see those false doctrines and traditions of men for what they are, lies. Get back into God's Word no matter who it offends.

Psalms 119:119 "Thou puttest away all the wicked of the earth like dross: Therefore I love Thy testimonies."

The "dross" is the slag that is cooked off silver and gold, when it is made pure. That is what shall happen when the testing at judgment time comes. God is saying that all those with their deeds and works being dross, being grounded in the filth of this world age; they are going into the lake of fire. Praise God they will not be around for the eternity. Keep in mind though that this fire that ends the dross, does not come to pass until the last day of the Millennium age; after the great white throne judgments.

Psalms 119:120 "My flesh trembleth for fear of Thee; And I am afraid of Thy judgments."

My flesh creepeth at the judgment executed on the wicked, as they go into the lake of fire. It is going to happen, for it is written in His Word. There is a judgment day coming when the books of heaven are opened, and each soul not written in the book of life, will be judged by their works.

Revelation 20:12 "And I say the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things that were written in the books, according to their works."

The "dead" are the spiritually dead, those that were not saved out of this earth age with their sins under the blood of Christ. The went through the Millennium age of Christ's kingdom, in their incorruptible body, with a clear understanding of what they were doing. The knew by choice that they were acting outside the Word of God, and their deeds, all of them were written in the books in heaven. At the great white throne judgment of our Heavenly Father, these dead will be judged out of those books only.

Those that were true to the Word of God in the Millennium age, will have their names written the the book of life.

Revelation 20:13 "And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works."

Every man will be judged according to their own works, which they did with a clear understanding that it was against the Word of God. There is no alibis accepted them, for the evil of this earth age will all be gone and done away with for the Millennium age.

Revelation 20:14 "And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death."

The first death is the death of our flesh bodies of this earth age, while the second death is the death of your very soul.

Revelation 20:15 "And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."

Even the memory of those souls going into the lake of fire will be eliminated from the minds of their loved ones. For there will be no tears or sorrow in the eternity, "neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." Our Heavenly Father has made you many promises that you can claim now. You do not have to wait for the eternity to claim them. When we see the judgment of God, we stand in ah of His judgment. For those that follow His testimonies and statutes, God judgments are rewards and eternal life. You can start collect your rewards even today. He will pick you up when you are down, and give you the wisdom of His Word to keep your feet on the right path, when you can't make it on your own.

AIN

Psalms 119:121 "I have done judgment and justice: Leave me not to mine oppressors."

This section is titled "Jehovah's servant's confidence". In other words, I am confident that our Father will not leave us in the hands of our enemies. I know it for a fact for it is in His Word.

Psalms 119:122 "Be surety for Thy servant for good: Let not the proud oppress me."

Did you notice that this is the only verse in the 119th Psalms that doesn't have one of the ten words. However it does have all ten. This "surety" is our Lord that holds us up with we are down. Our Heavenly Father is all ten of these words, all in one. He is the way, the path, the light that guides us, He is our protector, the Word, and the Law. The word "surety" is not one of the ten, it is all of the ten words.

This is the answer to the acrostic of all these 176 verses. Our Heavenly Father is our surety and in Him are all of these 10 words of this acrostic. Our Heavenly Father is all these things to you, but you have to first know it, then claim it for yourself.

Psalms 119:123 "Mine eyes fail for Thy salvation, And for the word of Thy righteousness."

So now that we know what the acrostic, these verses should come to life for us. Even when we know the truth, and have our mind set on Him, we will fall short, and that is why He is our righteousness. When we repent of our sins, they are put under the blood of Christ, and we take on His righteousness. Sure we all will fall short from time to time, but that does not make us a bad person. If evil thoughts come into your mind, that is only natural while you are in your flesh body. The point is that you do not act on those thoughts, for you stay focused on Him and the Word, the Law, the statutes and keep your feet moving in the right direction of the way or path laid out in His Word.

Psalms 119:124 "Deal with Thy servant according unto Thy mercy, And teach me Thy statutes."

When you seek after those statutes, God will grant you understanding as you are led by His Spirit. You must asked for that mercy first, then comes the understanding.

Psalms 119:125 "I am Thy servant; give me understanding, That I may know Thy testimonies."

When you are down and feel like you are falling away, that is the time to say, "Father help me to understand your ways." Your the inheritor, claim what is rightfully yours. Learn those promises and then stand on those promises.

Psalms 119:126 "It is time for Thee, Lord, to work: For they have made void Thy law."

They have made void Thy law, but our Lord hasn't. It is the churches that teach their traditions and false doctrine that make void the law of God. The common statement from the false churches today is that the Law and the Old Testament is done away with. How stupid, when you see what is said in that statement, for every bit of the law is true right into the eternity. Don't be a fool, and don't listen to fools. Friend, every law that you break you are going to pay for. Not necessarily on judgment day, but today. If you go out and break one of the laws; see if you get away with it. Commit adultery, kill a dear soul or break any of the laws of God and see if your get away with it. The laws of God are also the laws of our land, and our government will see to it that you pay the price. The law is not sin, but it is Satan that causes man to break the law and sin.

Psalms 119:127 "Therefore I love Thy commandments above gold; yea, above fine gold."

When you love the commandments about fine gold, you will find happiness.

Psalms 119:128 "Therefore I esteem all Thy precepts concerning all things to be right; And I hate every false way."

All the precepts of God's holy Word are right. Boldly do we speak out against every false way. When you are presented with one, call the error to their attention boldly.

PE

Psalms 119:129 "Thy testimonies are wonderful: Therefore doth my soul keep them."

The subject title of this eight verse section under "PE" is "Guidance by the word." Guidance of your life by the Word of God. Men will say many good things about you to try and direct your life, but the Word of God will give you the instruction you need for all the problems that may arise in your life. If there is faith in His Word, there will be no doubt in the promises that He gives us from His Word.

Psalms 119:130 "The entrance of Thy words giveth light; It giveth understanding unto the simple."

The word "simple" in the old English, means "sincere", as opposed to crafty. If you are sincere in your studies, His Word will give you the light for your life.

Psalms 119:131 "I opened my mouth, and panted: For I longed for Thy commandments."

I was so hungry I was panting for the meat of God's Word. Many in the world today are running from church to church seeking the truth, and in many churches the truth from God's Word is just not presented as from the manuscripts. What you get is nothing more than man's traditions.

Psalms 119:132 "Look Thou upon me, and be merciful unto me, As Thou usest to do unto those that love Thy name."

In the manuscripts, "name" is given as "Word". So this becomes one of the ten words of the acrostic. Our Father's Word is His mercy, which is His loving kindness is upon you at anytime that you call on His name and return you love to Him.

Psalms 119:133 "Order my steps in Thy word: And let not any iniquity have dominion over me."

God order me in the direction that my steps are to go.

Psalms 119:134 "Deliver me from the oppression of man: So will I keep Thy precepts."

Most all oppression comes from the hand and mind of men. They set up their idols, they business, their systems, their games and so on, that they attach more importance than God's precepts. Their life is full of idolatry that has placed above the hand of God.

Psalms 119:135 "Make Thy face to shine upon Thy servant; And teach me Thy statutes."

Again we are asked to tell God that we want to be taught. You have to seek the truth and ask Him for the wisdom to understand the statutes of His Word. You can study all the time, yet unless God's Spirit opens your mind to the truth, that understanding will not come.

Psalms 119:136 "Rivers of waters run down mine eyes, because they keep not Thy law."

When we see the direction that this world is heading, with all the crime and disregard for their fellow men, it brings you to tears. This also refers back to that verse dealing with men's hands building idols and putting those religious forms before God's Word. All teaching that will not align with God's Word falls under those forms of idolatry.

TZADDI

Psalms 119:137 "Righteous art Thou, O Lord, And upright are Thy judgments."

This section of eight verses is titled "Jehovah's word and the Psalmist". God is always fair in all His judgments. When it appears that He isn't, the problem is in your mind, not with God's judgments. You don't know what has happened to cause God to deal with this person harshly, to bring him to this time of testing. God will not rule over you, if you want to do stupid things, God will allow you to. Never doubt that God has a purpose in all that takes place.

Psalms 119:138 "Thy testimonies that Thou hast commanded are righteous and very faithful."

Our Heavenly Father is always faithful to His Word. Even during times of testing, God still loves you and wants to put your feet back on the path of His Word.

Psalms 119:139 "My seal hath consumed me, Because mine enemies have forgotten Thy words."

This is saying, "I am speechless with resentment", Because mine enemies have forgotten Thy words." Today we call it righteous indignation.

Psalms 119:140 "Thy word is very pure: Therefore Thy servant loveth it."

The Word of God is the only pure and perfect thing in this world. What people call errors in the bible are nothing more than an organization, or translator trying to fit the Word to what they want it to say. The manuscripts are pure, the translations are not.

Psalms 119:141 "I am small and despised: Yet do not I forget Thy precepts."

When you are tired and down, that is the time to cry out for His hand, for it is there.

Psalms 119:142 "Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, And Thy law is the truth."

Forever God's righteousness is present and near to you. God's law is the truth, it is the only thing that you can count on for direction in your life. It is given as a guidepost for your life. Don't listen to those that say the "law" is done away with. Jesus came to fulfill the law, and not one dot of the law has changed. Jesus death on the cross fulfilled the blood sacrifice ordinances for one and all times. The veil to the holy of holies was rent in two, and we can go directly to the Father in repentance, for that is why we pray our prayers in Jesus Name. We have faith to believe that His blood was sufficient to cover all our sins.

Psalms 119:143 "Trouble and anguish have taken hold on me: Yet Thy commandments are my delights."

If you don't watch out, all the thoughts and troubles of this world can take hold of your mind. But if you keep focused on God's commandments, His promises, they become a delight to your soul. They give you peace of mind in troubled times.

Psalms 119:144 "The righteousness of Thy testimonies is everlasting: Give me understanding, and I shall live."

Again it is repeated, "The righteousness of Thy testimonies is everlasting:" His Word is true and endless. You can count on it. God's Word will give you direction for your life today, and peace of mind for the future and eternity. By living your life according to the Word, you should not only improve your life, but those you live and work with. Is your neighborhood, and the world a better place because you were there? What kind of testimonies from the Word are you reflecting to others by the way you talk and the things you do. The mission we have here on earth is to help hold other up, and not just holding ourselves up. Make your life meaningful and an inspiration to others, even just one other person.

KOPH

Psalms 119:145 "I cried with my whole heart; Hear me, O Lord: I will keep Thy statutes."

The subject title of this "KOPH" section of verses is "Prayer for faithfulness in distress." It is with your whole mind that you cry unto the Lord.

Psalms 119:146 "I cried unto Thee; save me, And I shall keep Thy testimonies."

Psalms 119:147 "I prevented the dawning of the morning, and cried: I hoped in Thy word."

What this is saying is that I rose before the dawning of the day, in the middle of the night and cried unto the Lord. And in the middle of the night I faithed in Thy Word.

Psalms 119:148 "Mine eyes prevent the night watchers That I might meditate in Thy word."

In other words, I opened my eyes about midnight so that I could meditate in Thy Word. Anytime you lay there at night and are disturbed over a problem of the day, that is the time to turn in your prayer life, and focus on the Word of God for direction. The answer to correcting your ways is right in God's Word.

Psalms 119:149 "Hear my voice according unto Thy lovingkindness: O Lord quicken me according to Thy judgments."

Again, our Father's judgments to those that are in Him, are rewards and blessings.

Psalms 119:150 "They draw nigh that follow after mischief: They are far from Thy law."

It seems like those of this world break every law in the Word, and seek to do mischief.

Psalms 119:151 "Thou art near, O Lord; And all Thy commandments are truth."

Never forget it my friend, no matter what kind of problems you face, the command-ments and instructions you receive from the Word are truth. Even in those times that it doesn't seem so, have faith for He hears your cry and is there.

Psalms 119:152 "Concerning Thy testimonies know of old That Thou hast founded them for ever."

RESH

Psalms 119:153 "Consider mine affliction, and deliver me: For I do not forget Thy law."

The title of this section is is as the prior section; "Prayer for faithfulness in distress." This word for "deliver" in the Hebrew text is "ga`al", to be ever so gentle with me. Rescue me with your gentle hand.

Psalms 119:154 "Plead my cause, and deliver me: Quicken me according to Thy word."

This is asking Father to make me alive, just as your Word is alive.

Psalms 119:155 "Salvation is far from the wicked: For they seek not Thy Statutes."

Many churches of today are so wrapped up in the traditions of this world that they could care less what the word of God teaches. The look for approval not from God's Word, but from the brethren of their church.

Psalms 119:156 "Great are Thy tender mercies, O Lord: Quicken me according to Thy judgments."

What ever you think is good for me within your Judgments, Quicken me to accept it.

Psalms 119:157 "Many are my persecutors and mine enemies; Yet do I not decline from Thy testimonies."

Once you have set your course in the Word of God, don't turn away from that path. When you have turned away from their traditions and ways, stay away from those ways. Stay in the knowledge of our Living God. If you allow it, the enemies of God will take away those testimonies from you.

Psalms 119:158 "I beheld the transgressors, and was grieved; Because they kept not Thy word."

Stop and look at what is being taught as being from the Word, and it is quite sad. However once you know the overall plan of God and how it affects our generation, why would you turn away from God and His word?

Psalms 119:159 "Consider how I love Thy precepts: Quicken me, O Lord, according to Thy loving kindness."

This is a second witness to a prior verse, for when you are down, keep focused on the precepts of God's Word.

Psalms 119:160 "Thy word is true from the beginning: And every one of Thy righteous judgments endureth for ever."

In other words, God's Word shall come to pass exactly as it is written. This means that the entire Word from the beginning of the wisdom that was with God, is true and right. God judgments never change and they never will. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

SCHIN

Psalms 119:161 "Princes have persecuted me without a cause: But my heart standeth in awe of Thy word."

The title here is "Jehovah's Word gives peace and comfort." It just doesn't matter what the rulers or come governmental agency of this world say about you, if your heart and mind is fixed on His Word, thank God for His protection. .

Psalms 119:162 "I rejoice at Thy word, As one that findeth great spoil."

Psalms 119:163 "I hate and abhor lying: But Thy law do I love."

In time we hear so many lies from the world around us, but the truth from God's Word is so refreshing to our hears.

Psalms 119:164 "Seven times a day do I praise Thee Because of Thy righteous judgments."

This tells us to praise God seven times a day. Every time He blesses you, that is the time to praise Him. Seven in Biblical numerics means spiritual perfection, and it is perfect to thank God for each blessing we receive, as we receive them.

Psalms 119:165 "Great peace have they which love Thy law: And nothing shall offend them."

The peace spoken of here is peace of mind. When you understand the plan of God, the things of this world are of no surprise to you. Then each of those things that are done fit right into the plan of God, and these end times that we live in.

Psalms 119:166 "Lord, I have hoped for Thy salvation, And done Thy commandments."

Psalms 119:167 "My soul hath kept Thy testimonies: And I love them exceedingly."

After you have done the work for our Father, there are many blessings that will come your way, as well as peace of mind.

Psalms 119:168 "I have kept Thy precepts and Thy testimonies: For all my ways are before Thee."

Notice that all ten of these Words have come together in this set of eight verses under SCHIN. It demonstrates the God's Word does give us peace and comfort. This is because you have faith of your salvation; and you have accomplished all of His commandments; you have kept the testimonies, precepts, and the laws of God. That is the path that we keep our feet on, heading in the right direction.

TAU

Psalms 119:169 "Let my cry come near before Thee, O Lord: Give me understanding according to Thy word."

The subject here is "Petitions and statements." Let me cry for your promises according to Thy Word.

Psalms 119:170 "Let my supplication come before Thee: Deliver me according to Thy word."

When you make a prayer and supplication of the Lord, make sure it is according to His Word. You must ask the Father exactly what you want Him to do for you. Study His Word, but ask Him to protect you. Ask Him to go before you when you are in a hostile environment. Don't just sit and complain, but be specific. Ask God for the strength and wisdom, and the protection as you live your life. Then don't doubt your prayers to Him.

Psalms 119:171 "My lips shall utter praise, When Thou hast taught me Thy statutes."

Will you remember to give God the praise when God answers your prayers.

Psalms 119:172 "My tongue shall speak of Thy word: For all Thy command-ments are righteousness."

All of His Word is righteous.

Psalms 119:173 "Let Thine hand help me; For I have chosen Thy precepts."

Let Your hand help me because I have chosen your Word for my life. Your feet will run on that path at times.

Psalms 119:174 "I have longed for Thy salvation, O Lord; And Thy law is my delight."

Psalms 119:175 "Let my soul live, and it shall praise Thee; And let Thy judgments help me."

Let my soul live in all eternity, and my souls shall praise Thee. Salvation is not for the flesh, but for eternity. For that eternal being within your flesh body.

Psalms 119:176 "I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek Thy servant: For I do not forget Thy commandments.

Now after all the teaching of the prior 175 verses, the Psalmist says, "I have gone astray like a lost sheep." David's request then is "Seek Thy servant: for I will continue to do Thy commandments." These sheep are all the lost sheep of the house of Israel, as well as all the lost sheep that come by adoption to Him. Remember that sheep can not defend itself, but requires the Shepherd to watch out for it. If you are a sheep of our Lord then learn to depend on Him. He has promised that He will, but you need to ask for that protection.
