THE PSALMS Chapter 122 "Blessing and Peace in Zion." This Bible Study is is provided by http://www.theseason.org/ and shared with permission from it's author R. Christopherson As we saw in the prior chapter, trust strengthens faith. This chapter is also a Psalm of the degrees of David. The title of this Psalms is "peace". Our Lord Jesus Christ is the prince of peace, Yashuah the Messiah. Psalms 122:1 "I was glad when they said unto me, "Let us go into the house of the Lord." So what is the house of the Lord? Jesus said, "Destroy the temple and I will rebuild it in three days". The People of that day couldn't understand that, and that is why at the moment when Jesus died, He said; "It is finished". At that moment, the veil in the temple that hid the holy of holies was rent in two, and that man built temple was done away with. Because the body of Jesus Christ Himself became the temple or, "the house of the Lord". If you are not in Christ, you are not "in the house of the Lord". So that house of the Lord, became the many membered body of Christ. All the believers of Jesus Christ go to make up the house of the Lord. Once you are in that house, you never have to leave it, for it is His body. Psalms 122:2 "Our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem." At the return of our Lord Jesus Christ, our feet will stand within the gates of Jerusalem and mount Zion. This verse is telling you to look forward to that day when Jesus will be here with us, and we will be the Zadok taking part in His earthly kingdom. It is time to read the last eight chapters of the book of Ezekiel, and see the descriptions of the temple, and the duties of the people, the priests, and the Zadok. All those that love the Lord will have a active part in that Millennium kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ. However the elect of God will not have an inheritance in that land of the Millennium kingdom. For they will not be part of the testing nor the judgment, the elect will be joint heirs with Christ and will share in all of the duties with our Lord Jesus Christ. Ezekiel 44:28 "And it shall be unto them for an inheritance: I am their inheritance: and ye shall give them no possession in Israel: I am their possession." The elect can go where ever they so choose, for it will all be theirs. The elect will be servants of our Lord, and each will do his part in bringing to pass those things necessary for that Millennium kingdom. Jesus Christ's kingdom shall be established upon this earth, and it will happen to our generation. Psalms 122:3 "Jerusalem is builded as a city that is compact together:" Psalms 122:4 "Whither the tribes go up, the tribes of THE LORD, unto the testimony of Israel, To give thanks unto the name of the Lord." In the Millennium age to come, it will be customary for all the tribes to go up to Jerusalem three times a year to give thanks to the name of the Lord. This chapter is talking about the Millennium age, and it will all be instituted for that thousand year period. Of course we will not be in our flesh bodies as today, but in our incorruptible bodies as Paul spoke of in I Corinthians 15:50-56. That change from these corruptible body of flesh into our incorruptible body as the angels have, comes at the sounding of the seventh trumpet. Psalms 122:5 "For there are set thrones of judgment, The thrones of the house of David." This is looking to the Millennium and these thrones of judgment, as given in the Hebrew text are the thrones of God's elect. That is the purpose and mission of the elect in the Millennium age. The Zadok or Elect are the judges in the millennium age, and their thrones will be just. Ezekiel 44:14-16 tells us of the duties of the Zadok, and in verse 16; "They shall enter into My sanctuary, and they shall come near to My table, to minister unto Me, and they shall keep My charge." This should thrill your soul when you think of that glorious day that it coming in not to distant of the future. Psalms 122:6 "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: They shall prosper that love thee." We are to pray for peace to come to Jerusalem, and that perfect pease shall not come until this earth age of flesh and blood man is over and done with. That time will be after the sixth trump, and after Satan, the son of perdition has sat in Jerusalem and declared himself to be God. You will see it in our generation, for Satan and his army of fallen angels will be cast out of heaven to this earth before our Lord returns to set up His kingdom in Jerusalem. We are to pray for our Lord's kingdom, and not Satan's. That new kingdom will have the temple of Jesus Christ in it, which is to say, "the house of the Lord." It shall come to pass after Satan has had his way in testing the people of this world, and all evil has been removed off the face of the earth. We are not to pray for peace for Jerusalem for the dragon's kingdom, for it shall not come. There will never be peace in Jerusalem until the dragon, Satan has come, had his time on earth, and been removed to the pit, and all his fallen angels and kids are taken away. Don't pray for peace for Jerusalem for the dragon. There is only one prince of peace, and Jesus will come after Satan has fulfilled the prophecies concerning him as the Antichrist, within God's holy Word. Paul made this clear in II Thessalonians 2:1-4. Psalms 122:7 "Peace be within thy walls, And prosperity within thy palaces." Satan, the dragon's temple and palaces shall be turned to dust at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and then the temple and palaces of our Lord's will be built and peace will be within those walls. In Matthew 24:1, 2 when the disciples marveled at the temple buildings, Jesus told them that before He returned, not one stone would be standing upon another in those buildings. That day has not come yet, and it is pointed out every time we see the Jews saying their prayers before that stone wall of the old temple. Don't let anyone tell you that that destruction happened in 70 AD by the Roman General Titus. Psalms 122:8 "For my brethren and companions' sake, I will now say, "Peace be within thee." For all those dear souls that have died and went to be with the Lord, and for all those of the elect that are sealed with the truth of God's Word, and do not bow a knee to Satan, Peace will be within thee. Peace will be within the body of Christ, to all the believers. Peace will be in Christ's Millennium kingdom, and to all that are living there in their incorruptible bodies; for Satan will be removed to the pit, and all evil rudiments of this earth age will be gone. II Peter 3:10 "But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up." "The elements" that shall melt with fervent heat and be destroyed are the evil rudiments, all those things of this earth age of flesh man that causes men and women to sin. Yes we are to pray for the peace of our Lord's kingdom that shall come at the sounding of the seventh and last trumpet. Today we are to pray for strength to come to God's elect as we move into the final day. Psalms 122:9 "Because of the house of the Lord our God I will seek thy good." Jerusalem was born a wicked city, and David took the city and made it the center of our people, the Israelites. Down through the years, different religions all claimed it to be their holy city, and even Satan himself will declare it his holy city. Yet for the thousands of your that Jerusalem has existed there has never been peace there. But a time is coming when there will be complete peace in Jerusalem. Even today there are armies at the gates of Jerusalem, and terrorist find their glory in mass murdering the population. Jerusalem will not find peace until our Lord Jesus Christ return to set up His kingdom, and you will not be in the flesh and blood body when that happens. So if any person come, declaring himself to be God, sitting in Jerusalem, and you are in your flesh body that grows old, you are looking at a fake. However, peace is coming, a word to the wise is sufficient. Because if you are in our Lord Jesus Christ, the house of the Lord our God, you will seek thy good. This is why we are to know the order of events of our generation, for we are living in the final days of this earth age. If we know what is to happen, and see them taking place, we know it is within the plan of God, and we will hold true to the end, the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. _______________________________________________________________________________________
