THE PSALMS Chapter 132 "Distress. [Group V] First Psalms of Distress." "Blessing for the House of YHVH." This Bible Study is is provided by http://www.theseason.org/ and shared with permission from it's author R. Christopherson This Psalms 132 was an oath of David, concerning the Ark of the Covenant itself. This is one of the final Psalms of the degrees. Psalms 132:1 "Lord, remember David, And all his afflictions:" Remember David concerning the promise of God that David would fulfill. Psalms 132:2 "How he sware unto the Lord, and vowed unto the mighty God of Jacob;" This time of David's commitment to the Lord was when the Ark of the Covenant was stolen. Psalms 132:3 "Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house, Nor go up into my bed;" Psalms 132:4 "I will not give sleep to mine eyes, or slumber to mine eyelids," David's oath to God was that he would not sleep until the Ark of the Covenant was back with Israel. Psalms 132:5 "Until I find out a place for the Lord, an habitation for the mighty God of Jacob." This is a commitment to build a temple to God, however it was Solomon that would end up building the temple for the Lord. Psalms 132:6 "Lo, we heard of it at Ephratah: We found it in the fields of the wood." This "Ephratah" is better known as "Bethlehem-Ephratah", and another name for this location is "Shiloh". This was the same location where Jesus was born. They bound the ark of the covenant where the Philistines had left it in Kirjath-jearim, as recorded in First Chronicles 13:5, it was known as "the city of the woods". Psalms 132:7 "We will go into His tabernacles: We will worship at His footstool." A humbling thought even for today. Psalms 132:8 "Arise, O Lord, into Thy rest; Thou, and the ark of Thy strength." That temple was build by Solomon, and the Ark of the Covenant was brought into it, into the holy of the Holies. Psalms 132:9 "Let Thy priests be clothed with righteousness; And let Thy saints shout for joy." Every artical that the priest wore represented some part of the righteousness of the Lord. Each stone in the breastplate represented a symbol of strength that God gave to each tribe. Psalms 132:10 "For Thy servant David's sake turn not away the face of Thine anointed." Let that ark find its way to Zion. Though today people have all sorts of ideas where the Ark of the Covenant is today, however in Revelation we are told exactly where it is now. Revelation 11:18 "And the nations were angry, and Thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead that they should be judged, and that Thou shouldest give reward unto Thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear Thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth." This sets the time that we are talking about, it is the last day of this earth age of man in the flesh body. It is the time of the day of the Lord. That is when God's wrath is come onto the earth and judge the earth. All flesh, good and bad, will be done away with, and we shall change instantly into our incorruptible bodies. Revelation 11:19 "And the Temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in His Temple the ark of His testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and great hail." It is there right now, and it will be there on the last day of this earth age. Our Lord will bring it with him when He comes to set up His kingdom here on earth. Psalms 132:11 "The Lord hath sworn in truth unto David; He will not turn from it; "Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne." Our heavenly Father will not and can not lie. The throne of David is an everlasting throne, and there is one sitting on that throne even today. It is Queen Elizabeth II of England, and her bloodline traces all the way back to David. This was also brought out in Psalms 89:3, 4 "I have made a covenant with My chosen, I have sworn unto David My servant," "Thy seed will I establish for ever, And build up thy throne to all generations. Selah." Psalms 132:12 "If thy children will keep My commandment And My testimony that I shall teach them, Their children shall also sit upon thy throne for evermore." And so it is, as we can trace the bloodlines of all the royal houses through England and back to David. In time, at the last trumpet, Jesus Himself will return and sit on that throne in the Millennium kingdom. From that time to this, every generation has had a remnant that has know the truth from God's Word and witnessed this covenant being kept. Psalms 132:13 "For the Lord hath chosen Zion; He hath desired it for His habitation." Our Heavenly Father has chosen Zion, Jerusalem as the site of His throne for ever. The creator of all things has chosen Jerusalem and mount Zion to place His temple and throne. It is the place of God's eternal home. Psalms 132:14 "This is My rest for ever: Here will I dwell; for I have desired it." Father loves that place, and that is why we should be respectful to it, regardless who holds control of it for a short time. Respect not for the people, for great abominations will take place on Zion before the return of Christ, but for the location. It is the location where Jesus ascended into Heaven, and where Abraham offered Isaac as a sacrifice to the Lord. It is still there today, and it will be the final resting place of our heavenly Father. Psalms 132:15 "I will abundantly bless her provision: I will satisfy her poor with bread." There is a time coming when you will eat of that manna that only God gives, it will give eternal life. God will provide for every one that lives in His kingdom. That bread comes from Almighty God and it is from the tree of Life. Jesus Christ is the Bread of Life, and we will all be within our spiritual bodies in that Millennium kingdom. That food prevents you from ever being board, ill, or having negative thoughts. There is a new food coming, and there will be no shortages for those living in that kingdom. Psalms 132:16 "I will also clothe her priests with salvation: And her saints shall shout aloud for joy." All the people will shout for Joy aloud for the Savior, Jesus the Christ. Jesus will sit upon that throne until all His enemies are put under His footstool. That place will be eternal where our Lord sets up His everlasting temple. Psalms 132:17 "There will I make the horn of David to bud: I have ordained a lamp for Mine anointed." The heavenly Father's anointed is Jesus Christ; who was born in that little town of Bethlehem. "Bethlehem" in the Hebrew tongue means "the house of bread". Jesus is the bread of life, and He was born in that town as was prophesied many years prior. Jesus is the light, He is the truth and the way to Salvation. Psalms 132:18 "His enemies will I clothe with shame: But upon himself shall his crown flourish." The kingdom age is coming and it will be very soon. Our Lord will be coming to this earth and He will be wearing many crowns. Revelation 19:11, 12: "And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse; and He That sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He doth judge and make war." "His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns; and He had a name written, that no man knew, but He Himself." He is coming to help usher in that Millennium kingdom age. It is up to you to make up your mind whether you will trust in that crown, and the glory in the one that wears it. The crowning point is the Word of the Living God. "Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne."
