"Deliverance from Self."

Sometimes our own self can be our worse enemy. It is easy to pick our enemies apart, but what about those time when we like to overlook our own weaknesses. Sometimes deliverance from self is harder than trying to straighten out the enemy. A full scale ego trip can really become a barrier to get over. This is a Psalm of David.

Psalms 139:1 "O Lord, Thou hast searched me, and known me."

God does search us and He knows every fabric of our life. There is nothing that you can hide from Him.

Psalms 139:2 "Thou knowest my downsetting and mine uprising, Thou understandest my thought afar off.

Father knows when you sit down and when you rise, and he understands you no matter where you go to hide.

Psalms 139:3 "Thou compassest my path and my lying down, And art acquainted with all my ways."

Father sees right into your mind and He know your thinking, and He knows the [path you take and why you took that path.

Psalms 139:4 "For there is not a word in my tongue, But, lo, O Lord, Thou knowest it altogether."

In the Hebrew text it says, "every side and all throughout". There is not a side of you that our heavenly Father doesn't know about you. He's got your number. However, Satan does not have that power.

Psalms 139:5 "Thou hast beset me behind and before , and laid Thine hand upon me."

Father guides and protects both your path that you have traveled, and what is coming up front of your. He protects all sides of you. How many time have you escaped what seemed to be sudden death, but suddenly there came a way out for you. When God provided that way out, did you remember to thank Him for His protection. Our Father is in control of all that happens.

Psalms 139:6 "Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is high, I cannot attain unto it."

When you can't see why things happen the way that they do, do you thank the Father for those things that bring you out on top of a situation?

Psalms 139:7 "Whither shall I go from Thy spirit? Or whither shall I flee from Thy presence?"

How can you hide from God or flee from His presence? Friend, you can't, He is aware of all your actions and those thoughts that cause you to do those things that you do.

Psalms 139:8 "If I ascend up into the heaven, Thou art there: If i make my bed in hell, behold, Thou art there."

It doesn't matter where you go, to heaven or hell, God is there. So where is hell here on earth? Well you can't find it, for this is referring to the grave. At death your soul returns to the Father that placed your soul in your physical body at conception. In this life in your physical body there is no place that you can go to escape the site of our Heavenly Father. At death, there is a place of separation from the throne where those that are not saved go, and God even has control over that place.

Psalms 139:9 "If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;"

If I go to the far east where the sun comes up in the morning, and go to the other extreme, to the west, there is still no place that I can go to escape the sight of our Heavenly Father.

Psalms 139:10 "Even there shall Thy hand lead me, And Thy right hand shall hold me."

Where ever your soul can be delivered, our Heavenly Father is there to protect you and give you comfort. What a wonderful Savior that we have, there is no greater love, for He is always there. When was the last time you told Him you love Him.

Psalms 139:11 "If I say, "Surely the darkness shall cover me;" Even the night shall be light about me."

This is asking the question? When did you deliver yourself from darkness? Of course you can't. What have you done that puts you on such an ego trip, that puffs you up so much that you don't think you need the Father's help. Can you comprehend the magnitude of our Father's love for you?

Psalms 139:12 "Yea, the darkness hideth not from Thee; But the night shineth as the day:"

The darkness and the light are both the same to our Heavenly Father. When we are children of the Day, then there is no night for that light continues to shine all the time. When you are in Christ, all days are Sabbaths to Him, for He is our rest.

Psalms 139:13 "For Thou hast possessed my reins: Thou hast covered me in my mother's womb."

Our Heavenly Father even fashioned your physical body while your were being formed in your mothers womb. Father knows ever cell of your body, and He knows what is good for it, and what to stay away from. That is why He gave us the health laws, so we could take care of our physical body every day of our lives while here on earth.

Psalms 139:14 "I will praise Thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: Marvellous are Thy works; And that my soul knoweth right well."

Father put within your little unborn body a will, and mind that would develop and allow you to have common sense as you mature and age. Your soul and mind does know right from wrong when your spiritual eyes are open. Father knows how to steer you around to protect you from your own self.

Psalms 139:15 "My substance was not hid from Thee, When I was made in secret, And curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth."

Every part of your body is not hid from Him. He created you soul back in that first earth age, and he know every where your soul has gone. Nothing is hid from our heavenly Father.

Psalms 139:16 "Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; And in Thy book all my members were written, Which in continuance were fashioned, When as yet there was none of them."

Father's eyes can see the material substance that I am made from, and He knows I am not perfect. This is saying that before your soul entered into that embryo within your mothers womb, way back in that first earth age, our Heavenly Father knew exactly what your physical body would be like. God knew all the defects that you would have, and even if you would make it through the birthing process. Everything about you was written in the book of God in heaven. Your soul and self was already with God far before your physical body was ever formed. It came from God and it will go back to God at death. God knew what your image would be far before you entered that embryo in your mother's womb.

Psalms 139:17 "How precious also are Thy thoughts unto me, O God! How great is the sum of them!"

With each thought and trial in your life, there should be mental growth to your maturity. In time, you should be able to examine yourself, to deliver yourself from your negative self. Instill in your mind that God knows all about you, so don't try to hide your thoughts from Him. It is difficult for any person to understand how precious God's love and thoughts are for you. How could God love you so much that He was willing to go through every thing that you would go through in your life. No, man can not start to comprehend such a great love that Our Father has for each of us. He loves you even in your sin, and wants to draw you to Himself.

Psalms 139:18 "If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: When I awake, I am still with Thee."

If I should count the thoughts of our Father, they are more in number that the sand on the sea shores. Man just cannot comprehend the thoughts of our heavenly Father.

Psalms 139:19 "Surely Thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: Depart from me therefore, ye bloody men."

Sure, we have the wall of protection around us when we are in Him, but even when we are nothing, that love and wall remains to protect us from evil men that would do us harm.

Psalms 139:20 "For they speak against Thee wickedly, And Thine enemies take Thy name in vain."

The wicked will talk against the Word of God, against our Lord and Savior, and they will talk and do wickedly against you also. Expect it. They even say that there is not God.

Psalms 139:21 "Do not I hate them, O Lord, that hate Thee? And am not I grieved with those that rise up against Thee?"

When you see anyone taking the name of the Lord in vain, and saying things against our Lord, it should grieve you a lot. Those that hate God will use force to try to take over governments, and try to cause God's people to be under them. That is how communism works, your declare that their is no God, then set out to force other to follow your ways. Communism enslaves people's minds.

Psalms 139:22 "I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies."

There is a perfect hatred, and that is to know your enemies, and why they are your enemies. God hates His enemies, and when you are with God, your mind will conform to the ways of His Word. That hatred today is called "righteous indignation". There is nothing wrong with righteous indignation, for today there is a teaching going around that tries to get everyone to accept the thoughts and religious mindset of others. However when that mind is set against God, there is no common ground. Friend, when you see wrong being done, and the principles of the Scriptures being made light of, that is the time to make a stand, and voice your opinion. There is nothing wrong with drawing the line against those that would try to regulate and take God our of our lives. There is nothing personal in righteous indignation, for it is against those that would promote Satan and his lies.

Psalms 139:23 "Search me, O God, and know my heart: Try me, and know my thoughts:"

Psalms 139:24 "And see if there be any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way of everlasting."

Search me O God to see if their is any thing in me that would draw me away from the truth of your word. Don't try to hide things from God, for if you are doing something wrong that is the time to bring it to light and correct it. The purpose for this entire chapter is to improve self, and correct those things that need correcting. To stop those ego trips before they even get started.
