THE PSALMS

Chapter 147

"Second Hallelujah Psalm [Exodus]."

This Bible Study is is provided by http://www.theseason.org/ and shared with permission from it's author R. Christopherson

This is the second of the Hallelujah Psalm, and it opens with Praise ye the Lord, and that is how it closes.

Psalms 147:1 "Praise ye the Lord, For it is good to sing praises unto our God; For it is pleasant; and praise is comely."

When you sing praises to God, it shows your love for Him. The reason God created you in the first place, was to enjoy you, for you are created for His pleasure. He waits for you to tell Him that you love and respect Him.

Psalms 147:2 "The Lord doth build up Jerusalem: He gathereth together the outcasts of Israel."

In due time the Lord will gather all the tribes back together to Him. Today they are scattered around the world under many different names and nations, yet in the Millennium age, they will be as one to our Lord.

Psalms 147:3 "He healeth the broken in heart, And bindeth up their wounds."

Father is able to take your burdens and give you peace of mind, when you turn to Him and call to Him in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. He will take the yoke and make your burdens lighter.

Psalms 147:4 "He telleth the number of the stars; He calleth them all by their names."

The "stars" are His children, each soul that was created back in that first earth age. And God knows and can call each by their name. This is the Hallelujah of Exodus, and in Exodus 1:1 it reads, Now these are the names of the children of Israel, which came into Egypt; every man and his household came with Jacob." That is how it shall be in the Millennium age, for every offspring of Jacob will be counted and numbered in that kingdom.

Psalms 147:5 "Great is our Lord, and of great power: His understanding is infinite."

Man simply can not understand the great understanding that our Lord has.

Psalms 147:6 "The lord lifteth up the meek: He casteth the wicked down to the ground."

It is important that we remain humble before Him, for we will have the victory over all our enemies in the end.

Psalms 147:7 "Sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving: Sing praise upon the harp unto our God:"

Let God know the love that you have for Him, sing of His praises, and thank Him for each blessing that He gives to you.

Psalms 147:8 "Who covereth the heaven with clouds, Who prepareth rain for the earth, Who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains."

He even controls the rain that falls and allows all the beauty of plant life that covers the mountains and valleys. Those clouds give shade, and the rain life to all living on the earth.

Psalms 147:9 "He giveth to the beast his food, And to the young ravens which cry."

God takes care of the beasts in the field that man will never see, and the ravens that feed off the dead and decay animal life on the earth. God takes care of each of His created beings, and tends to their well being. If He will do that, you know He see your needs and hears you when you cry out to him.

Psalms 147:10 "He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: He taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man."

Lets translate this the way it should be by the manuscripts. "God is not impressed by a large cavalry, a big army; nor in an large army of foot soldiers." Your giant super power armies just doesn't impress God.

Psalms 147:11 "The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear Him, In those that hope in His mercy."

But the lord does find pleasure in all those that revere Him and cry out for his mercy in repentance. Remember in that latter days when the allied armies of Russian and her friends come against us, it is God that protects our borders. He takes the hook and drags them to the valley of Hamongog, and destroys them there. However it is up to us to use common sense in our own protection. We know how the end is going to be.

Psalms 147:12 "Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem; Praise thy God, O Zion."

Our Heavenly Father loves Jerusalem, and has taken that city to wife. That city, and on Mount Zion is where Christ shall rule from in His millennium kingdom, and on into the eternity.

Psalms 147:13 "For He hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; He hath blessed thy children within thee."

When you ask God for His protection, and use good common sense, He will strengthen the the gates of your home and protect you from the enemy. God is going to look after your family and bless you, when you try to please Him.

Psalms 147:14 "He maketh peace in thy borders, And filleth thee with the finest of the wheat."

This is so true for He will bring peace to your home, and provide for bread on the table when you try to please Him. He has blessed our nation beyond all understanding of our enemies, and how have you thanked Him?

Psalms 147:15 "He sendeth forth His commandment upon earth: His word runneth very swiftly."

The Holy Spirit is His Word, and His Spirit moves swiftly across this earth to fulfill the entire word of God. Our Heavenly Father is in complete control of all the events that shall happen.

Psalms 147:16 "He giveth snow like wool: He scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes."

In due season, you can count on the frost and snow to cover the ground, and each of the season come in their proper times.

Psalms 147:17 "He casteth forth his ice like morsels: Who can stand before His cold?"

He also can freeze the water to for ice and use that ice as a weapon at His disposal. God works in a natural way.

Psalms 147:18 "He sendeth out His Word, and melteth them: He causeth His wind to blow, and the waters flow."

God can be gentle, or He can cause the extreme harshness of the winter. He gives the former rain that germinates the crops, and He brings that latter rain that brings those crops to maturity.

Psalms 147:19 "He sheweth His word unto Jacob, His statutes and His judgments unto Israel."

God never kept any of His laws and commandments a secret for Israel or anyone that seeks the truth. He makes his Word well known to all nations on the face of the earth.

Psalms 147:20 "He hath not dealt so with any nation: And as for His judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the Lord."

God's rewards are for those He loves that revere His name, and his judgments are on the heads of those that go against His commandments and laws.
