"A Psalm [mizmor] and Song of David." The word "Mizmor" means that it is spoken in word form, like poetry, but it is also given in Song or singing form by David. When given in mizmor form it is used to stop and meditate on what is being spoken and how it applies, and then consider what is preceding it. Psalms 65-68 are all psalms of Mizmor, and are given to make a meditate on what is being said.

We are to consider the movement of the nations in the end times, and realize that God is in control.

Psalms 65:1 "Praise waiteth for Thee, O God, in Sion: And unto Thee shall the vow be performed."

Your praise is silent for Thee, O God, in Jerusalem. God made a covenant with Jerusalem as to how it would be in the time of the end. That vow will be followed in detail.

Psalms 65:2 "O Thou That hearest prayer, Unto Thee shall all flesh come."

This pinpoints exactly when this will take place, for there is only one time in this entire earth age that "all flesh shall come to God, to Christ." This happens on that last day of this earth age, which is the first day of the Millennium age of Jesus kingdom on earth. This would be better translated "all mankind", and not "all flesh", for an that day all flesh shall be done away with, and all mankind living on the face of the earth shall be changed instantly at that moment in time. Paul wrote of this time in I Corinthians 15:50-54, and he pinpointed that moment at the sounding of the last or seventh trumpet. All mankind will be changed instantly, at the wink of an eye into their incorruptible bodies, and exist in that form for the next thousand year period. This is why it is important to know the correct translation, for there will be no flesh and blood in that first day of the Millennium age when every knee would bow to Satan.

Psalms 65:3 "Iniquities prevail against me: As for our transgressions, Thou shalt purge them away."

David is saying that upon Redemption, Father can forgive us of our sins, and purge or take them away from me. We are all sinners, and we all fall short. However when we pray and talk to Father in Jesus' name, upon repentance our sins are blotted out of God's heavenly record. God hears you and answers prayer, and He forgives with you repent of your sins.

Psalms 65:4 "Blessed is the man whom Thou choosest, and causest to approach unto Thee, That he may dwell in Thy courts: We shall be satisfied with the goodness of Thy house, Even of Thy holy temple."

Don't read over this. "Blessed is the man whom Thou chooseth," and that is election. It is not refering to altar calls here but God choosing who He is going to open the eyes of. It is God that allows you to come unto Him in repentance. Ezekiel 44:15 tells us;

Ezekiel 44:15 "But the priests the Levites, the sons of Zadok, that kept the charge of My sanctuary when the children of Israel went astray from Me, they shall come near to Me to minister unto Me, and they shall stand before Me to offer unto Me the fat of the blood, saith the Lord God."

These ones that God has chosen are the only ones that can enter into Christ's Millennium temple court. Those many that will be deceived shortly into following Satan, thinking that he has come to rapture them away are not allowed to go near the temple of Jesus Christ in the Millennium age. How ever they will be taught and then judged by their works from the Millennium age.

Psalms 65:5 "By terrible things in righteousness wilt Thou answer us, O God of our salvation; Who art the confidence of all the ends of the earth, And of them that are afar off upon the sea:"

This verse is proof that the translators are trying to make a bad guy out of our Heavenly Father. This word for "terrible", should read, "by awesome divine intervention", and should cause those that see and witness these awesome wonderful things taking place to reverence to our Heavenly Father. This same word of "Confidence" is translated 107 times as "trust". In the Hebrew text the word is "batah", However as it is used here it means a little more than trust, but here it means that not only is the trust there, but it rids you of any fear that you may have of the unknown. When you see that over powering strength of our Lord, it gives us a peace that rids us of all fear and worry. No matter where you are, learn to put your trust in the Lord.

Psalms 65:6 "Which by His strength setteth fast the mountains; Being girded with power:"

With the power and strength of our Lord, He place every mountain in place. David is telling you living in this generation, that the very one that created all these things, is the very one that protects you against even the smallest of our problems. He cares for you, even more so than He protects and cares of the little sparrow. Jesus told us of this in Matthew 10:29-32.

Matthew 10:29 "Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without you Father."

Matthew 10:30 "Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows."

Matthew 10:31, 32 "Whosoever therefore shall confess Me before men, him will I confess also before My Father Which is in heaven." 31 "But whosoever shall deny Me before men, him will I also deny before My Father Which is in heaven."

Two sparrows are sold for the smallest monetary value known at the time, Yet our heavenly Father knows each sparrow that falls. With even more intensity our heavenly Father knows and cares of you. Our Father knows all the smallest details of our lives, and He observes how we handle ourselves in those close times when we are dealing with our fellow men. If we deny Him before men on earth, Jesus is saying that He will deny us before the Heavenly Father, where Jesus is sitting on the right hand of that throne in heaven.

When we build our trust in the Lord, and get that trust or confidence in the strength of the Lord, why would you not want to confess our Lord when in troubled times. Our heavenly Father is all powerful. He has promised that He will pull you through.

Psalms 65:7 "Which stilleth the noise of the seas, and noise of their waves, And the tumult of the people."

Father can calm the waves of the seas, and control the tumult of riotous people to change nations, and he can control the minds of those that set out to do harm to you. After feeding the five thousand, Jesus' disciples entered into a ship and went to sail across the sea to the other side. When they were out in the deep, a storm came up and the sea tossed with high waves. "It was the fourth watch of the night when Jesus approached their ship, walking on the sea." Sure His disciples became upset at seeing a man out there during the storm, but when Jesus spoke to the all things changed.

Matthew 24:27 "But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, "Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid."

When Jesus spoke, a silence came over that storm, and the sea was made calm. You can see the power of Him that protects you that is sitting at the right hand of the Father in Heaven. Jesus Christ is the creator that created all things, and even you and those that would do harm to you. He has earned you praise and honor.

Revelation 4:11 "Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for Thou hast created all things, and for Thy pleasure they are and were created."

Once you come to understand what God has done, and who He is, How in the world can you not give him that praise that our Lord deserves?

Psalms 65:8 "They also that dwell in the uttermost parts are afraid at Thy tokens: Thou makest the outgoings of the mourning and evening to rejoice."

In very nature itself that God created rejoices at His presence.

Psalms 65:9 "Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it: Thou greatly enrichest it With the river of God, which is full of water: Thou preparest them corn, when Thou hast so provided for it."

God did not just created this earth and the heavens but He takes care of His creation. He feeds the birds, and waters the plants and trees. He provides of the wild life, and even those parts of the earth and universe where no man ever goes. We can see God care for his creation in the beauty all around us. Even in the lightning that strikes the earth, brings the nitrogen to nourish the plants of the earth.

When a farmer plants the corn seed in the earth, he turns to God for the water, and growth of that corn seed, and he comes to expect a hundred fold and more increase of the seed that he planted. How can you take God for granted when He is truly awesome. Just as He tends to all of His creation, He will tend to your needs when you put your trust in Him, and confess Him before men here on earth.

Psalms 65:10 "Thou waterest the ridges thereof abundantly: Thou settlest the furrows thereof: Thou makest it soft with showers: Thou blessest the springing thereof."

God sents the rain storms to water all the land, not only the bottom land, but even up on the highest ridges of hills. Through the seasons of rain, freezing and thawing, God actually cultivates the wild to prepare it for the plants of the wilderness. The farmers actually use the same rain to break down the dirt clods, to soften the earth to where the seed will grow. God even blesses us with the fruit of the grain, when the seed burst forth, to give off its harvest to feed our nation. Though many educators are so blind that they would actually believe that this process is accidental, This process just would not happen if God would turn his back on a nation and withdraw His blessing from that land. We see what happened in those countries where there is no rain, that have turned into nothing but a desert. Yes, God deserves our praise and thanks for the blessings that He has given our nation. God is in control, and He wants to take care of you.

Psalms 65:11 "Thou crownest the year with Thy goodness; And Thy paths drop fatness."

Psalms 65:12 "They drop unon the pastures of the wilderness: And the little hills rejoice on every side."

This is saying that at the beginning of the year, God crowns it as he brings forth his rain, the weather patterns, the lightning, and all the other things that go to make up the pastures in the wilderness. He prepares the earth to feed the wildlife, and he make the earth ready to give forth the foliage that will be used and feed, and dress up all the landscape. God doesn't just create those things, but He makes it beautiful. These two verses draw together the fact that it is God that makes those green lush pastures, even for the animals in the wild.

Psalms 65:13 "The pastures are clothed with flocks; The valleys also are covered over with corn; They shout for joy, they also sing."

"To the chief Musician."

This says that even after the Lord has made the pastures and clothed them with the lush foliage and wild corn, He placed the animals in those lands to partake of the rich grains that even grow wild in the wilderness. God provides the weather to make the corn and the sheep in the wild to enjoy and live off of that corn. All of God's nature shouts for joy over the provisions provided for each. So the thought that is behind this entire chapter is that God is totally in control of His universe, and all the lives within it, and that includes you and your problems.
