THE PSALMS Chapter 75 "God's Anointed in the Sanctuary." "Judgment. The Upright. [2-8]" This Bible Study is is provided by http://www.theseason.org/ and shared with permission from it's author R. Christopherson
"A Psalm or Song of Asaph."
"Psalm" as used here in this chapter, in the Hebrew
"Mizmor", is used for "meditation". This
author "Asaph", was used in twelve of the Psalms, all of
these twelve but one, is in the book dealing with the Sanctuary.
"Asaph" is "the collector of the
congregation". Collecting all the congregation to keep them
from being destroyed, with the prayer and praise going out;
"Father destroy not your own".
So in the prior chapter we saw the enemy in the Sanctuary, now in contrast to that condition, this seventy fifth chapter, we will view YHVH's Anointed in the Sanctuary. This will be just the opposite as the prior chapter. Remember that the Sanctuary is the Temple, which is Christ's body. The many membered body of Christ. "To the chief Musician, Al-taschith." "Al-taschith" in the Hebrew text is "to destroy not". Psalms 75:1 "Unto Thee, O God, do we give thanks, Unto Thee do we give thanks: for that Thy name is near Thy wondrous works declare." "Unto The do we give thanks", given twice for emphasis. It is always near because of His name, YHVH. In that precious and sacred name all things were created, and in His name He is always near to us. Also in that sacred name is Yashua, or Jesus in the English, meaning "YHVH's Savior". What a beautiful world that he has created for us right here on this earth, and in the heavens above. Also in His crucifixion and resurrection that gives us the freedom that we have in Christ and His truth. Psalms 75:2 "When I shall receive the congregation I will judge uprightly." This is talking about that time when Jesus Christ returns to this earth at the seventh trump, we know that Jesus will judge righteously and justly. This is a promise that you can count on. We talked about this in Psalms 73:4-12, that if it seems that the wicked are always have prosperity and get ahead, the point stated here is that in due time, the wicked will get exactly what they deserve. They will be judged righteously. Psalms 75:3 "The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved: I bear up the pillars of it. Selah." This sets the time that this righteous judgment will come. So when will the earth and all the inhabitants that are living on the face of the earth in their flesh bodies dissolved? Paul set the stage for that exact moment in I Corinthians 15:50-53. I Corinthians 15:50 "Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption." The body of flesh and blood is called the "corruption", while the soul and spirit within that body, also called the spiritual body is "incorruption". To "inherit" is to take possession of those things that belonged to someone else. The things that pertain to, and are for the life of you in your spiritual [incorruptible body], can not be inherited, or used by any person while in their flesh and blood ["corruptible body"]. The flesh and blood body is in a different dimension than the spiritual body. I Corinthians 15:51 "Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed," A mystery is something that has not been revealed before, so Paul is about to tell us something that we ought to pay attention to. That "mystery" is that at a point in time, all people living in their corruptible bodies, their flesh and blood bodies will be changed. That's right all, the good, the bad and that means all. But when shall this be? I Corinthians 15:52 "In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed." Did you get that? Faster than you can wink an eye, at the last trumpet, the seventh trump, every person on the face of the earth will be changed from their corruptible flesh and blood bodies, into their new spiritual bodies called the incorruptible body. "Dead" because their flesh body is continually aging and moving to a point of corruption or death. I Corinthians 15:53 "For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality." Fried, it is not a choice, it is a must that all souls be changed instantly from this earth age of the flesh, and enter that realm of the incorruptible spiritual bodies, as the angels have. Why, it is in God's plan. This will not happen thought until after the sixth trumpet has sounded and Satan has played his role as the instead of Christ, right here on this earth. You can count on that face because God has warned us of it in II Thessalonians 2:3, and 4. II Thessalonians 2:3 "Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition," This is talking about the return of Jesus Christ, that point in time of the sounding of the seventh, the last trumpet. Paul is warning us that "that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first", that Satan "the son of perdition be revealed" and made known. Satan comes at the sixth trumpet, which is the sixth seal and the sixth vial. Get it? II Thessalonians 2:4 "Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the Temple of God, shewing himself that he is God." Satan will be seen by all men and women living in their flesh and blood body, sitting in his temple in Jerusalem, and declaring himself to be God. He will be supernatural and a counterfeit to the true Christ, and all people on the face of the earth will be part of his system, all be the elect of God. Why? They know the truth and will not be drawn in by his supernatural acts, and words of deception. So this establishes the instant in time that Jesus Christ will return, at the seventh trumpet, and they will be the time that all the wicked acts and words will be accounted for. "Selah". Remember from the introduction of this Chapter that this Psalm is a Psalm of "Mizmor", of meditation. Selah means to stop and meditate on what has been said. "This Selah is connecting the set time of judgment with the judgment itself as it will affect the wicked and the righteous". As we read in I Corinthians 15:50-53, these flesh bodies are shed at the seventh trumpet, and then is when this judgment of those living at that instant in time on this earth will either receive their immortal bodies and rewards, or go into the Millennium age of Christ's kingdom to live the next thousand years and be judged at the end of it by their works alone. Those that do not pass that great white throne judgment will march into the lake of fire with Satan, and be destroyed completely. We will see Jesus Christ here on earth at that time of the Millennium age; so stop now and meditate and fix within your mind the time that this will be when God's Anointed, Jesus the Christ, will be in the Sanctuary, and all things will be made right. Think on what has been said, that time is coming and it will be very shortly. When Jesus comes, He will judge uprightly, fair and just. Most of the sins of this earth age are tied in some way to these flesh bodies, to eating, sex, physical possessions, comparisons of men's ideas of beauty, and so forth. Now when those things of evil are gone, and all things are made known to men in their spiritual bodies, all souls will see plainly that our Lord will be completely just in all that he does. So this Selah then sets the set time of this judgment of Christ when the wicked will get their just due, and the righteous get their rewards. Judgment is never negation for God's elect, and those that love Him. It is payday for those that stayed in the field, working until the day of the Lord, the seventh trumpet sounded. Psalms 75:4 "I said unto the fools, "Deal not foolishly:" And to the wicked, "Lift not up the horn:" During this earth age of the flesh, we talked and warned those of the wicked that this time would come, yet they would not listen. The "horn" represents "power". The horn that shall be lifted up is written in Daniel 7:8; it is the little horn, the antichrist. Daniel 7:8 "I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and behold in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things." This is a warning to all those in the flesh during the time of antichrist time here on earth: "Lift not up the Antichrist:" Look at this verse in the Psalms to the prophetic end. Psalms 75:5 "Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck." This is saying, "speak not arrogantly of the Rock", the one true Rock, the almighty God. There is only one entity that can take the place of Almighty God, and He is Jesus Christ. There is only one entity outside of Jesus Christ that would dare to claim to be God, and that is Satan himself. We read of it in our study here from II Thessalonians 2:4. Satan will try again to claim to be God just before the coming of the true Christ, and then for the last time at the conclusion of the Millennium age. The little horn will be raise again, and see that you don't put him on high. Psalms 75:6 "For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, Nor from the South." For advancement and success comes only from the north, the side of the north, and that is where antichrist will sit as he declares himself to be God. This is the exact location where God has told us that he will establish His throne, and Satan will deceive many as he places his throne in that same location. This is where God's seat of judgment will be, but in Isaiah 14:12-14. So lets document exactly who this little horn is, as spoken of here. Isaiah 14:12 "How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!" Jesus is the "bright and morning star", and here Lucifer is also claiming to be the bright and morning star. However Satan is the "anti", the negative morning star. Isaiah 14:13 "For thou hast said in thine heart, `I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:" This is the only one that tries to take the place of Jesus Christ as the morning star, on the side of the north. The "stars of God" are all of God's children. Satan is going right to God's congregation to try to win them over to himself, and he will do it from the side of the north, in Jerusalem. Satan wants to sit in Jesus chair and be judge of the world. Satan will do this before the judgment of the true Christ takes place. Are you going to fall for Satan the little horn, or wait for the true horn of power coming at the seventh trumpet? Isaiah 14:14 "I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the Most High.' " Are you mentally prepared for this time when Satan tries to deceive the world? This chapter in the Psalms is giving us another warning of that hour and time Satan will deceive the entire earth. Psalms 75:7 "But God is the judge: He putteth down one, and setteth up another." When the time of His appointed time arrives, then the Heavenly Father will take down the one, the little horn Satan; and set up His only begotten Son Jesus the Christ. The true Son of the morning is Yashuah the Messiah, Jesus the Christ. Psalms 75:8 "For in the hand of the Lord there is a cup, and the wine is red; It is full of mixture; and He poureth out of the same: But the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them." " Remember what Jesus prayed no that night that He was taken to be crucified? He took his disciples up on Gethsemane hill, and asked them to wait and pray, but they fell asleep. Then we read in Matthew 26:39: "And He went a little farther, and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, "O My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from Me: nevertheless not as I will, but as Thou wilt." It is not the cup that many think of, but this cup of wrath that will be poured out upon the whole world. Jesus took the first step in executing the plan of God into motion. Christ's ascension into heaven set the stage for His return at the seventh trumpet, that time when this cup of wrath would be fulfilled. The wicked will be destroyed when this cup is poured out. Jesus is praying, is there some other way that we can bring in Salvation? but there wasn't, and this is what must happen to fulfill God's eternal plan. This is the cup that Jesus was praying that could be stopped. Right in the bottom of that cup is all the wickedness on the face of the earth; there is a payday coming and the wicked will receive all it has coming to them. Psalms 75:9 "But I will declare for ever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob." Remember that this is God's anointed in the Sanctuary, pray to the Father, and it is quite a contrast to Psalms 73 and 74. Psalms 75:10 "All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off; But the horns of the righteous shall be exalted." "To the chief Musician on Neginoth." At the sounding of the seventh trumpet, all the power of the righteous shall be put in place. This leads us into Psalm 76, which covers the destruction of the enemy of the Sanctuary. It is "to the chief Musician on Neginoth"; "Neginoth" meaning "Smitings". Though it is historical, However God is using history to let us know what our future shall be in our generation. It is up to us to pay attention, and become wiser than the Serpent. _______________________________________________________________________________________
