THE PSALMS Chapter 99 "THE NEW SONG." "Motives of and to YHVH. [1-4]" "Examples of and to YHVH. [5-9]" This Bible Study is is provided by http://www.theseason.org/ and shared with permission from it's author R. Christopherson This chapter is a continuation of Psalms 98. Psalms 99:1 "The Lord reigneth; let the people tremble: He sitteth between the cherubims; let the earth be moved." In the statement; "The Lord reigneth", reminds us that this is talking about the Millennium age when our Lord is here on earth and the whole earth us part of His kingdom. In our Lord Jesus Christ's kingdom, let all the people on the face of the earth respect Him. Our Lord today sits in heaven "between the cherubims," those spiritual things of this earth age that record the promises of God; but at Jesus' return to this earth, the entire earth will be shaken. The reference that "He sitteth between the cherubims" is to "ark of the covenant". This is saying that this mercy seat, the "ark of the covenant" is in heaven, and will be brought back at Christ's return, when this earth is shaken. Jesus is going to return and sit on that ark of the covenant. Inside that ark are the two tablets that Moses wrote on mount Sinai, a pot of manna that sustained the Israelites for forty years while in the wilderness, and and the rod of Aaron. Jesus is going to be bringing it for the Millennium age. The last two verses of Revelation 11 tells us exactly where the ark of the Covenant is today. Revelation 11:19 "And the Temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in His Temple the ark of His testament: and there were lightnings, and vo9ices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail." This has been written in His Word for the past two thousand years, so why would anyone spend their lifetime looking for the "ark of the Covenant [testament]" here on earth. Sure it will be returned, but no flesh shall witness that, for we all shall be in our incorruptible bodies then. The ark is not lost, and it will be brought back to earth. Satan will sit inside a temple built for his wicked kingdom, and the ark will be no where around on this earth when is resides on the side of the north. Satan's reign will be a very short one, about five months and it is all over, but Satan will never sit on our Lord's mercy seat. It is occupied and reserved for only our Lord Jesus Christ. Psalms 99:2 "The Lord is great in Zion: And He is high above all the people." This pinpoints exactly where Jesus will land and reside, and set up his kingdom here on earth. Mount Zion is in Jerusalem, and at the present time it is the religious center for two of the man made religions of the world, Judaism and Islam. The waling wall of the Jews, and the dome of the rock of Islam must be removed before Satan's temple can be built, and it will. Many watch daily for events of the middle east that will bring down those religious structures to prepare the way for Satan's temple. At the coming of our lord Jesus Christ, Satan will be put in the pit and all his religious realm will be completely destroyed; and our Lord Jesus Christ will set up His kingdom. Every knee on the face of the earth shall bow to Him as Lord and Savior. Psalms 99:3 "Let them praise Thy great and terrible name: For it is holy." Go back to Psalm 96:11 and review the sacred name of our heavenly Father. It comes from the first letters of the words that say; "Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad." "Yismehu Hashshamayim Vethagel Hadrez." As stated as a acrostic from the Hebrew Text, YHVH. "Thy great and mighty" are in reverence that YHVH is holy. That name is locked in the Hebrew manuscripts, and when He is holding you up, you have power. Learn, observe, pray and respect the sacred name of our Heavenly Father. Psalms 99:4 "The king's strength also loveth judgment; Thou dost establish equity, Thou executest judgment and righteousness in Jacob." Our Lord's law is going to come back into being, and this entire world will abide by it, or those souls that won't, simply will not exist. God's laws are always right and fair. Psalms 99:5 "Exalt ye the Lord our God, And worship at His footstool; For He is holy." That is where we worship, "at His footstool"; and the feet of our Lord Jesus Christ. Our Lord is holy and just. Psalms 99:6 "Moses and Aaron among His priests, And Samuel among them that call upon His name; They called upon the Lord, and He answered them." "Moses and Aaron" are the grandsons of Levi, the son of Jacob. It was no accident that Moses and Aaron led the priesthood, for they were of the house of Levi. We are told in Deuteronomy 10:8, 9 the purpose of the tribe of Levi. Samuel lived hundreds of years later, but he also called on the name of the Lord, and God answered him. Deuteronomy 10:8 "At that time the Lord separated the tribe of Levi, to bear the ark of the covenant of the Lord, to stand before the Lord to minister unto Him, and to bless in His name, unto this day." Deuteronomy 10:9 "Wherefore Levi hath no part nor inheritance with his brethren; the Lord is his inheritance, according as the Lord thy God promised him." That is the purpose of the priest, to call upon the name of the Lord. Many of the priests of today don't even know His name. God gave us many examples in His Word, by these mighty men of God. These priests that God set aside called on His name and led their people in times of trouble. The reason that most don't call on His name, is that they just don't believe that God hears them. God is telling you, look at the examples that I have given you and do what they did. They called to me in My name, and I answered them back. Look at the example, and you follow those examples and I will answer you just as I did them. Psalms 99:7 "He spake unto them in the cloudy pillar: They kept His testimonies, and the ordinances that He gave them." God speaks to people in many different ways, in visions and dreams as in Joseph's and David's case, and through a cloudy pillar to Moses and the Israelites going through the wilderness on their way to the promise land. When God spoke to Moses and Aaron in the wilderness, they started trusting in the Lord by keeping Father's testimonies and the ordinances that were given to them on Mount Sinai. Psalms 99:8 "Thou answeredst them, O Lord our God: Thou wast a God That forgavest them, Though Thou tookest vengeance of their inventions." Our Lord is a forgiving God, and He will forgive you of your sins, just as he forgave those in His Word when they cried out to Him in their times of trouble. There is no difference today than what it was three thousand years ago. Man has always tried to invent their way to approach God, other than the way that Father has demanded. They create their little gods made of wood and stone, follow their rituals and tradition and then they can't understand why God is not paying attention to them when they cry out to Him. God will close his ears and eyes to your prayers, when you try to invent your shortcut to Him. Remember that these Psalms were written in the 38th year of the children of Israel's time in the wilderness: So it is applied to those that are about to enter into the promise land. This also applies to those of us that are about to enter into the promise land of the Millennium age, for those adults that started out with Moses and Aaron, only two, made it into the promise land. The others all fell by the way side; they trusted in their inventions, and doubted God at His Word, and refuse to follow the way that God set out for them. These Psalms apply to you today, and if you are puting man's inventions ahead of God and His word, you are just as much in trouble as those ancient Israelites were. It is time to study the entire Word of God and understand how those promises apply to you individually. There is no excuse for His Word has been around for your entire life. If you seek after the truth of God's Word, He promises that through His Spirit you will find it. Psalms 99:9 "Exalt the Lord our God, And worship at His holy hill; for the Lord our God is holy." Our Heavenly Father's holy Hill is Mount Zion in Jerusalem. That day is coming when our Lord Jesus Christ will be in His temple on Mount Zion, and the peoples of this earth will go to that location to worship our Lord and Savior. God is holy, and we are looking for that day. Many are going to be deceived before that day takes place for they would rather rely on their inventions such as the rapture theory, rather than prepare themselves for the false Christ that shall come first. I long for that righteous judgment to come on this earth, when all mankind will know the truth and follow His ways. That time is not far away. We are living in the day of the parable of the fig tree, And Jesus warned us to learn the parable of the fig tree that we would not be deceived at the events of our day. The false Christ is coming, and we must prepare to stand and wait on the Lord's return. Learn to call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and YHVH, the name of our Heavenly Father. _______________________________________________________________________________________
