and the Latter Rain

This is a study on the locust army and the former rain and the latter
rain, which all happens just before the LORD'S day.
The book of Joel. The subject of the book is the LORD'S day, it
informs you how it will be just before it happens. On The LORD'S Day.
Who is our enemy and what should we look for next?
It is the locust army.
You will notice in the book of Joel that God warns us that the locust
army is coming, and that He will send the latter rain.
Joel's prophecy is undated, no references are made to time, because it
looks onward to the time of the end, and to the events that will usher
in “The Day of the LORD”
But if the period covered by Joel are to be taken as from 488 to 477
B.C. then we have, as contemporaries;---
Jeremiah in Jerusalem;
}
Joel in Judah; }
All prophesying together during the last 7 years of the kingdom of
Judah.
Daniel in Babylon; }
Ezekiel in Babylonia and }
in the Land }
Is this Daniel's seventieth week? Ushering in the Day of the LORD?
Joel 1:1 The word of the
LORD that came to Joel the son of Pethuel. (these are the words of the
LORD not Joel's)
No let's go to Joel Chapter 2 to learn about the
former and latter rain.
Joel 2:1 Bow ye the
trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in My Holy mountain; let all the
inhabitants of the land tremble; for the day of the LORD cometh, for
it is nigh at hand;
Joel 2:2 A day of
darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as
the morning spread upon the mountains; a great PEOPLE and a strong;
there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it,
even to the years of many generations.
This tells us that the locust's are PEOPLE, and this only happens
once. Why is it a day of darkness?
Revelation 9:2 And he
opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as
the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air
were DARKENED by reason of the smoke of
the pit.
Satan's hour is darkness, deception, trouble and
gloom
Joel 2:4
The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as
horsemen, so shall they run.
This lines up with Revelation 9:7:
Revelation 9:7 And the
shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto
battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold
and their faces were as the faces of MEN.
And from Revelation 9:5 it tells us they have
five months. This is when the deception really starts
to take hold.
Revelation 9:5 And to them it was given that they
should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five
months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion,
when he striketh a man.
Joel 2:6
Before their face the people shall be much pained; all faces shall
gather blackness.
(Blackness = paleness,
they are deceived)
Joel 2:10 The earth shall
quake before them; the heavens shall tremble; the sun and the moon
shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining;
Joel 2:11 And the LORD
shall utter His voice before His army; for His camp is very great; for
He is strong that executheth His word; for the day of the LORD is
great and very terrible; and who can abide it ?
Joel 2:12 therefore also
now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to Me with all your heart, and with
fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning;
Joel 2:13 And rend your
heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your GOD; for He
is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and
repenteth Him of the evil.
Joel 2:15 Blow the
trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly;
Joel 2:16
Gather the People, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders,
gather the children, and those that suck the breasts; let the
bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.
Joel 2:17 Let the
priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the
altar, and let them say, “Spare Thy People, O LORD, and give not
Thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them;
wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their GOD?’
Joel 2:18 Then will the
LORD be jealous for His land, and pity His people.
Joel 2:19 Yea, the LORD
will answer and say unto His People, “Behold, I will send you corn,
and wine, and oil, and ye shall be satisfied therein; and I will
no more make you a reproach among the heathen;
Joel 2:20 But I will
remove far off from you the northern army, and will drive him into a
land barren and desolate, with his face toward the east sea,
and his hinder part toward the utmost sea,
and his stink shall come up, and his ill savour shall come up, because
he hath done great things.
This is from Ezekiel 39:11
Ezekiel 39:11 And it
shall come to pass in that day, that I will give unto Gog a place
there of graves in Israel, the valley of the passengers on the east of
the sea: and it shall stop the noses of the passengers: and there
shall they bury Gog and all his multitude: and they shall call it The
valley of Hamon-gog.
And it shall come to pass in that day, (The LORD'S Day) that I will
give unto Gog (A multitude) a place there of graves in Israel,
the valley of the passengers on the east of the sea; and it shall stop
the noses (Stink) of the passengers; and there shall they bury Gog and
all his multitude;
and they shall call it The valley of Hamon-Gog. (Hamon-Gog = the
multitude of Gog) this will happen in a valley somewhere in
Alaska.
Joel 2:21 Fear not,
O land; be glad and rejoice; for the LORD will do great things.
Joel 2:22 Be not afraid,
ye beasts of the field; for the pastures of the wilderness do spring,
for the tree bearth her fruit, the fig tree and the vine do yield
their strength.
Joel 2:23 Be glad then ye
children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your GOD; for He hath given
you the former rain moderately, and He will cause to come down for you
the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.
Towards the springtime, around the time of Passover, Israel will have
the latter rains, known as the malkosh, necessary for the ripening of
the barley and grain.
Now if the latter rains come around Passover and Satan is kicked out
of heaven 5 days before Passover it would line up with it being the
first month of the 5 months.
The word “Month” is not in the manuscripts, the former and latter
rain would not come down in the same month, it's talking about the
rain of the latter days. So what it really should say is the latter
rain will be as the first, plentiful and abundant. But when
should it fall?
In the first month of the 5 month period of Revelation Chapter
9 when the locust army marches. There is going to have
to be ripening of fruit. Which is to say in the form of
receiving knowledge rapidly for some people, and God has chosen some
to plant seeds so that rain would have something to germinate, to
broadcast them whereby the truth is in the world when God gives the
natural rain, that it maybe germinated to produce more fruit and more
fruit.
Now let's go to Revelation Chapter 11 about the 2
witnesses:
Revelation 11:3 And I
will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a
thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
Revelation 11:6 These
have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their
prophesy; and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to
smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.
Now in Revelation 11:3 the two witnesses shall
prophesy 1,260 days (3 1/2 years) a few days longer then satan, he has
42 months, it has been shortened to 2 1/2 months.
So we see that the two witnesses have power to shut
heaven that it rain not in the days of their prophesy. Why? Because
when Antichrist is here, it will be too late.
So how do you get the latter rain?
Zechariah 10:1 Ask
ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter
rain; so the LORD shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of
rain, to every one grass in the field.
You must ask the Father for the latter
rain (for the spiritual knowledge) needed to make it to the Lord's
Day.

What is withholding the latter rain?
Jeremiah 3:3
Therefore the showers have been withholden,
and there hath been no latter rain; and thou hadst a whore's forehead,
thou refusedst to be ashamed.
Jeremiah 5:23 But this
people hath a revolting and a rebellious heart; they are revolted and
gone.
Jeremiah 5:24 Neither say
they in their heart, Let us now fear the Lord our God, that giveth
rain, both the former and the latter, in his season: he reserveth unto
us the appointed weeks of the harvest.
Jeremiah 5:25 Your
iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have
withholden good things from you.
Joel 2:24 And the
floors shall be full of wheat, and the fats (vat = vessel) shall
overflow with wine and oil.
Deuteronomy 11:14
That I will give you rain of your land in his due season, the first
rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy corn, and thy
wine, and thine oil.
Joel 2:25 And I
will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the
cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, My great army
which I sent among you.
I want this to sink into your mind, who`s army?
God`s army, GOD sent it, GOD controls them, and gave us power over all
our enemies, Luke 10:18 and 19 and you wonder why people fear, is not
it sad that people have such little faith.
Luke 10:18 And He said
unto them, “I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
Luke 10:19 Behold,
I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all
the power of the enemy; and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Luke 21:17 And ye shall
be hated of all men for My name`s sake.
Luke 21:18 But there
shall not an hair of your head perish.
Joel 2:26 And ye
shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD
your God, That hath dealt wondrously with you; and My people shall
never be ashamed.
In that day there are lots of people that will be ashamed, those that
worship Antichrist, they will pray for mountains and rocks to fall on
them as written in Revelation 6:15,16:
Revelation 6:15 And the
kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief
captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man,
hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;
Revelation 6:16 And said
to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of
him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:
Joel 2:27 And ye
shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the LORD
your God, and none else; and My people never be ashamed.
Joel 2:28 And it
shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out My spirit upon all
flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men
shall dream
dreams, your young men shall see visions;
Joel 2:29 And also upon
the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out My
spirit.
Joel 2:30 And I will shew
wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars
of smoke.
Joel 2:31 The sun
shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the
great and terrible day of the LORD come.
Joel 2:32 And it
shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD
shall be delivered; for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be
deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD
shall call.
